He does ...My son uses the potty and he is 6 months. He does it because he like to. I don't force him. He likes to be praised, and if I hold him over the potty and he goes, he gets a good prasin'! Some might find this strange, or mean, or a desire to push kids to far to fast, but it isn't. What is strange is waiting until your child is 2 to start introducing them to the toilet. My son wears diapers too. I see his peeing and pooping on the toilet a great entry point for his eventual toilet training.Valeriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08170929565911814594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19042683.post-69390188194111525762008-10-04T01:54:00.000-04:002008-10-04T01:54:00.000-04:00help! i'm so frustrated, my son will soon be 6 yea...help! i'm so frustrated, my son will soon be 6 years old & still messes his pants. he was supposed to go to kindergarden this year, but couldn't because of this problem. i have been trying to potty train him since he was 2 1/2. please help i've tryed everything with no successAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19042683.post-10845195249815797572008-09-26T12:23:00.000-04:002008-09-26T12:23:00.000-04:00For those of you with the "pull-up dependent child...For those of you with the "pull-up dependent child" Refuse them a pull-up or diaper and it will be so repugnant to them if they do go when naked, they will quickly agree to the toilet. I would imagine that their intense bond and physical closeness with their baby would afford them the opportunities to recognize and respond to their baby's signals. In American society, many do not have the option of staying that close to their baby, constantly watching them, whisking them away to a toilet, and hoping for good aim (we typically do not have dirt as an option and if an "accident occurs it will be on your carpet, not in the dirt).

Sure, doing this would mean less diapers however, the constant running to a bathroom with my half naked baby sounds rather taxing. Infancy is rather busy and exhausting to begin with. And do you stay home for the first year? Surely this would be challenging in public places.

I think this method is helpful for the African tribe you mention because of the cultural setting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19042683.post-66086397004099140022008-08-11T23:55:00.000-04:002008-08-11T23:55:00.000-04:00Barbara,We also have a 3 1/2 year old son who is s...Barbara,

We also have a 3 1/2 year old son who is still in pull-ups.
