The other day I decided that I need to get my wedding business into a new venue, boy did I find a brand new, beautiful wedding venue. The Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen NY is the place for your wedding. This place is gorgeous, it rest on the South end of Seneca lake looking over a public marina.

Ducks on a river.

Have you ever seen ducks on a river? They seem so clam as they float upstream. What you don't see is that their little webbed feet are paddling like mad under the water. Well I’m kinda like that too in a way. I get a little busy and forget to post things on the blog so no one gets to see what it is I’m working on like this latest shoot I just finished, I call it “Captivate Him Again”. I came up with the concept for married couple to reignite the passion they once felt toward each other. Or for brides to give to their new husband as a wedding gift.

Well it's finally here, that right Football season... GO BLUE DEVILS!

If you're like me, high school sports are WILD! My son Jeremy plays for the Victor Blue Devils Varsity Football team so when they play I bring my camera to the games. We had a game last night at Brighton High School (The Barons) and it was a great one. A ton of scoring on both sides of the ball. The Barons had this player that SMOKED us on a kick return. This young man could RUN! He ran the ball back for a touch down, UNTOUCHED!

In in the end we won, it was a great game... congratulation boys! Victor Football is 2 -0, I'll keep you posted.

I guess I was MIA for a bit but I'm back now! I was down in visiting my parents in Venice Florida and while there, went out on a air boat tour and saw a few gators. If you have never done it before I recommend you check it out it's pretty cool. This one gator was inches away YIKES!

I was contacted by this young woman who wanted to know if we did beach photos. She wanted photos of her son on the beach. We first started at the studio and we later made it to the beach but not until we captured this adorable little boy with his boat.

At my last wedding, I had the opportunity to photograph with the camera that I converted to take true infrared photos. Take a look, here is the result. I was surprised just how black the sky became. I think it's pretty cool, what do you think?

Yes it is official, I am a computer geek. I've always been enamored with infrared photography. I recall reading on how it was used in World War 2 to locate buildings that were hidden under camouflage tarps. So I decided to convert one of my digital camera's, replacing key components in the camera, resulting in a true infrared photo.

Because "IR" sees light rays that the human eye cannot see, it gives a very interesting and exciting look to photos.

Well March has been a busy month and it is only getting busier. I had the opportunity to attend a photography seminar at the end of last month. It was a wonderful program with very informative speakers, Mary Fisk Taylor and Jamie Hayes.

While attending the program there was a photo contest. Yes I did enter a print, you know just to feed the ego. Fortunately I did win an award for the print which made me pretty happy. It is a great felling to be recognized by your community and peers. The award winning print is displayed here, a high school senior jammin' away!

Next I am off for my annual trip to Las Vegas for WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photography International). I'll be gone till the 2oth of March. This year I have a surprise for all of you...something I plan to show you upon my return...make sure you check back often.

I have been attending this event now for the past 4 years and have found it to be so inspirational. Every year I come back from this event so "jazzed" and motivated to start the wedding season, because the show is so awesome. The speakers are world renowned and all them are quick to take time and speak with you and share their ideas. A couple of years ago I entered the print shown below in the print competition. I call it "Honeymoon Hors d'oeuvres" and was thrilled to be awarded the print of excellence.

Please give me a chance here, I'm new to this "blogging" thing. I have been told by EVERYBODY that I need to get a "BLOG"! Okay, what is a blog, I have no clue? So I have now got myself a blog, now what? From what I can tell, I'm to write about things that interest me.

I can do this.

I'm a photographer and I really enjoy this job, which is a second career for me. When I was 14 years old I started to work for my father. He owned a dental lab in Illinois, just outside the city of Chicago. Six years later I took a vacation to Florida with some of my buddies and met my wife to be. Low and behold, little did I know, my life would never be the same! We were married 2 years later in Canandaigua, NY and 1 year later had our first of 2 son's. Kyle is now 20 years old and a Physical Therapy student at Daemen College in Amherst New York. Jeremy is 16 years old and a Sophomore in High School.

My wife Gail and I have been married for..... you can do the math, figure it out. We moved to Victor 15 years ago. Upon moving back to New York in 1989, I built my own Dental lab business ran it for 15 years and slowly became burned out. Not being independently wealthy, I needed a new career one that is challenging, rewarding and one that allows me to be artfully creative. I thought for awhile about what would satisfy these needs. Photography was the answer! I told you that story so I can tell you this one. I have this friend you see who has a photography studio in Canandaigua, the name of his studio eludes at the moment... Oh, Steve Chesler of Chesler Photo. He took me under his wing and has shown me the ropes to wedding photography with the understanding that I would show him how to fly fish. I've learned a TON from Steve and as far as "Teaching a man to fish" well lets just say I have a new fishing partner for life.
