I was warned before I went to keep my mouth shut. I was informed that they wouldn't appreciate my western Canadian <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">ascent</span>. I was in Quebec for three months. I did <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">speak</span>. I tried my best to <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">speak</span> French. All of my attempts were very well received. They tried to put me at ease by <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">speaking</span> English. Between the two languages we were able to communicate successfully. In fact, far from feeling prejudice I felt very welcomed. I recall roaming the streets of old Quebec city. I was charmed by its beauty and culture.
