The Sarah Home for Women is a Christian based discipleship training program founded on the Word of God. It is our belief that Jesus Christ alone can set us free from a life of bondage. By adopting an “each one teach one” outlook, we allow the redeemed of the Lord to say so. Our Bible studies and groups are led primarily by Christian women for women, who simply desire to share the Good News with others in obedience to the Lord.

The Sarah Home for Women requires a 12-month commitment, with the understanding that leadership will evaluate each woman’s progress individually.

We are a residential program for up to 16 women.

We follow a Christ-centered 12-step book.
Our disciples attend up to 15 bible studies weekly.
We attend bible believing churches each week.
We encourage women to have an active prayer life.
We combat illiteracy.
We offer support to the families of our disciples.
We offer a “workers phase” to ensure smooth transition.
We prepare and enable our women to reenter society.
We have “after-care” and growth management services.
We have a transitional housing plan.

Vocational Training

This serves three purposes:

1. Builds self esteem, and a sense of accomplishment in the area of work ethics.

(Phil. 2:29 / Prov. 13:19)

2. The opportunity to provide for themselves and their families upon graduation from the program.

(Prov. 14:23 / 2 Thess. 3:10/ Titus 2:3-5)

3. Helps to provide the necessary income the Ministry needs to continue serving others.

(Acts 2:44 - 45 / Phil. 4:19)

The areas available for Vocational Training are:
Kitchen Services
Laundry Services
House Cleaning
Restaurant Services
Gardening
Community Service with The Toys for Tots (October-December)

Our goal for the women we are training is that they will be able to acquire gainful employment at one of the many businesses that have partnered with The Well Ministry of Rescue. The Sarah Homehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07444416958275685004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1876075120337693256.post-63039234469232829892008-07-01T00:51:00.000-07:002008-07-06T00:51:50.882-07:00ResourcesRecommended reading:
Intervention: How to Help Someone Who Doesn't Want Help by Vernon E. In the future we will be setting up a paypal account for monetary donations, but for now any gift cards to the following locations would be greatly appreciated. As many of you know, women have needs quite unique from that of men. Women have beauty, feminine physical needs, and an array of other specialty requests during each month. We have found that gift cards are most appreciated by the women at The Sarah Home.

We have the following stores in our town:

Wal-Mart
KMart
Target
Safeway
Walgreens
Raley's
Office Depot
Family Christian Store

Imagine being in a place with no feminine needs such as skin care, makeup, feminine products, or even a nice fragranced body splash. Last night the women received a donation of several different sized curling irons, to which they were so thankful to have. We all know that looking our best, as women, greatly helps to build our confidence in who we are as individuals. Each woman has a desire to look well kept when she attends church with our leadership.

We also want to be able to provide good reading literature for the women at The Sarah Home and we have a Family Christian Store right here in town where our leadership can go to get the spiritual needs that our women have. These precious daughter's of our King have emotional needs in the area of parenting, marriage, and individual walks with the Lord. They have hurts that need healing such as previous abortions, domestic violence, drug/alcohol abuse, losing children, etc. We feel that having financial support to this store will enable us to select books and Bible studies that will help heal these hurts in the hearts of our Christian Sisters in need.

Being able to shop at the other local stores for the basic needs for these women each month is a great need. As women we know that when a group of women are close, especially when living in the same home, the tend to approach that same time of the month in unison. This is when having access to Wal-Mart or KMart can be most beneficial. In addition to that, each woman is striving to eat as healthy as possible and although we do get food donations from time to time, we'd like to be able to get what they need to stay healthy. We are using the Supermarket 101 curriculum at The Sarah Home and teaching these women how to shop smart and use a budget. If you have not invested in this curriculum for your own home, I'd like to encourage you to do so through this link and The Sarah Home will benefit from your purchase, as Apples of Gold Ministries is giving 50% of their partnership to them in the form of a gift card to the Family Christian Store.

If you'd like to help invest in the lives of our Sisters at The Sarah Home you may do so by sending gift cards to:

The Sarah Home For Women
2343 Lombard Ln.
Chico, Ca. 95926

If you'd like to make a financial donation at this time you may send a check or money order to:

The Well/Sarah Home
P.O. Box 3343
Chico,Ca. 95927

All prayer support is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much for partnering with us to help our Sisters in the Lord regain their lives through the power of redemption through our Lord Jesus Christ. The Sarah Homehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07444416958275685004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1876075120337693256.post-15215206294855240472007-11-09T07:19:00.000-08:002007-11-09T07:21:54.602-08:00Open HouseYou're Invited!

The Sarah Home For Women is having their open house and we would love to have you come by and see the home!

When: Saturday, November 10, 2007
Time: 9am-6pm
Where: 2343 Lombard Take Esplanade to White Ave.(By Taco Bell). We are a part of The Well Ministry of Rescue in Chico, California. We are a 12 month Christian based recovery program. We utilize the 12-step method and Boundaries teachings, along with various group and individual Bible studies. The Sarah Home is a residential facility located in a beautiful Chico neighborhood.

Janet Bennett is our Founder and Executive Director as well as a Bible Study teacher and intercessory prayer warrior. She will be tending to the needs of the women in group Bible studies, prayer groups, and various other areas within this ministry. Janet has been faithfully serving by her husband's side as he has been leading The Well Ministry of Rescue since 1993.

She felt the Lord speak to her about a women's ministry early on and continued to seek the Lord and his timing. The Spirit of the Lord impressed upon her heart in a dream about the role of Sarah in the Old Testament as the mother of many nations. We know that God called Abraham the father of many nations and being the wife of a great leader, Sarah had the opportunity to become like a mother to many people. Throughout the years at The Well Ministry the disciples in the program have endeared her as a mother and still call her 'Mom' to this day and we have had many 'nations' of people come through our ministry.

The Sarah Home teaches a 12-step class and offers individual counseling. We have vocational training where women are learning to be keepers of the home (Titus 2:5) and use the Flylady routine. Many other areas of vocational training are involved in their days at The Sarah Home.

We are available to speak for The Sarah Home in your church or women's group upon request. They will work diligently to make a date available to meet the needs of your ministries.

The Sarah Home will provide the women with opportunities to reconcile their families. We will work with any family that would like additional help in putting their family back together. Each woman will be involved in vocational training of various areas such as:

Keeping the Home
Gardening
Secretarial
Computers
Cooking
Restaurant Serving
and more to come.

Classes offered will be:

Christian 12 Step
Parenting
Marriage & Family
Recovery (Boundaries)
GED/High School Diploma
Personal Finances
Boundaries
Beth Moore
and more to come.

For donation inquiries or questions about the program please contact our Program Director,
Lisa Bertolini at (530) 342-0835.

Founder & Executive Director - Janet Bennett
Program Director - Lisa BertoliniThe Sarah Homehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07444416958275685004noreply@blogger.com
