...when son #1 walks in, tastes the popcorn, now hot and buttered in the popcorn bowl and says:
"That popcorn is too bland, Mom. Can I make some microwave popcorn?"
Sigh.
(The mom said yes, by the way.)

He may have a career in the military yet...
I'm in a mood today. So much going on in the news, whether it be blogsphere or my daily newspaper. Almost every day our hometown paper has something about this case splashed all over the front page.
This story is a very sad story, and one that I don't think will have a happy ending.
I'm also sad to say but I think the mother may have harmed her Shashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03998268292521913501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18704043.post-47305556136504845662008-07-22T12:26:00.005-04:002008-07-22T12:33:29.882-04:00Just a Friendly Reminder

If you know me, you know how much I LOVE being a passenger in a car in the rain. With trucks. and rain.
Sedatives? Anyone? Please?
So you'll have to make due with this photo.
Originally taken when we went to Tennessee.
You could barely see the Welcome to Florida sign when we crossed over the bridge into Florida.
We're home.

A Graveyard, A Beach, A Lighthouse, and Dinner with a Lady and her Sons.
First, the graveyard:
Bonaventure Cemetery. It's rather large.
When you enter, you drive down this tree-lined path.
It's incredibly gorgeous.
A plot that was so beautiful, I had to photograph it.
I also saw many prominent Savannahians gravesites.
Then Tybee Island and the beach:

Today was our "travel day", and after a quick stop at our neighborhood Publix (Holla, K!)we set off on our trip.
We hit EVERY SINGLE LIGHT in Altamonte Springs on SR 436. Every. One.
Traffic was heavy on I-4 until we hit I-95.

We're very excited.
If you are in the Savannah area and see two boys, one big and one little wearing hats that have an M or an L on them, say hello. They are the Super Mario Bros., on vacay.
That's what they'll tell you, Shashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03998268292521913501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18704043.post-11305887253684910162008-07-09T19:53:00.008-04:002008-07-09T20:19:15.993-04:00Build It UpThis summer, we have spent a lot of time playing on the Wii. Scamp has an interesting quirk (I can't imagine WHERE he gets it from?)where he has to finish a game completely, unlocking all the characters that can be unlocked.
I'm happy to report the mission has been accomplished.
Scamp has also been logging many hours as well in front of the Wii. It is with a heavy heart that I write this to tell you that I will not be attending BlogHer this year. I really want to go...I do because this person is speaking and this person, and this person and this person and that person, you know, the one I said LAST YEAR SHOULD HAVE HAD HER OWN BREAKOUT SESSION - she is that cool and has many important things to say?!?

Can I have a word with you? I mean, when you are not screaming at me, or the teacher, or your fellow classmates. I'll wait. Really. I have PLENTY of time to spare for you. That's because my current job has shifted, almost imperceptibly, from working with a child who can't speak to one who screams, throws chairs, hits, sticks his tongue out at EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, and Shashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03998268292521913501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18704043.post-4090634227332197852008-05-15T09:17:00.012-04:002008-05-20T16:15:55.934-04:00The Sounds of Silence, but Still ScreamingMy experiment has ended, and by "experiment" I mean that I actually have some time today to finally post to my blog.
Truthfully though, I have had so much to say, but so many things I can't share for so many reasons that I just decided to not say anything at all. That was very hard for me, because if you are one of the lucky few that knows me in real life, I have a very hard time keeping quiet. He lived....but barely.
We hit the road by 6am. Light traffic all the way up until we got to Georgia. Then? We hit several of those bottlenecks - you know, the traffic jams that appear out of nowhere, and when you get to the place where you think it was caused there is nothing there? We had a few of those.

Well, some of what was on my to-do list, but mostly not. I was reassigned to a full time job at my school - and I love it. It's what I did last year, but for the younger ones.
