Thanks again for having us cover Little Theatre's Big Show this year June 12th-14th. We are just getting started on the editing of both the photos and the video, due to a scheduling mishap this year we will more than likely be taking the full 6 weeks to complete the photos and video. Your patience is appreciated! Every show is two hours long, with 3 cameras, 2 shows a day times 3 days! That's a lot of footage for us to go through... so we hope you understand it takes time to create the best video possible for you! In the meantime if you forgot to place a video order you can still make order requests for school delivery with the rest of the videos up until when I change this post. Wedding ~ Julia & Jim

Julia and Jim were married today at Christ Episcopal Church in Denver with a reception that followed at Mt. Vernon Country Club. It has been many years since I've done a wedding at this church and I had forgotten how lovely it is! With wonderful window light and more... mother nature decided to unleash her fury again on us, but luckily cleared up just as we arrived at Mt. Vernon Country Club so we were still able to take advantage of the magnificent mountain views! Thanks again for making us a special part of your day and also using our DJ company: Digital DJ, LLC! I also took a creative angle photo of our videographer, Taleen covering the ceremony. I just thought it was different and a more artistic photo that I wanted to share with everyone!

Wedding ~ Annie & Nick

Photos from Nick & Annie Daniel's Wedding are now online via our main website. We had a very rainy day and night to contend with for this one, thank goodness the wedding had been planned to be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial. The church just went through a very extensive remodel... very gorgeous and lots of light. The couple's reception was held at Terrace Gardens at Ken Caryl with my husband's DJ company - Digital DJ, LLC providing the entertainment. We seemed to make the most of the rain, using all we could of the beautiful architecture features of the church and were still able to get a few shots of the couple outside at the reception venue! Congratulations again you two!

Brita competed in an amateur body building competition today and took first place in all categories she competed in! She asked me to meet her downtown Denver so that we could do some photos of her to memorialize all her hard work! I believe a huge steak dinner and desert was also her award after the show! Congrats again, Brita!

Jefferson Academy Graduation Photos & Video 2009

It's that time of year again! As I walked into the Green Center at The School of Mines with all of our equipment to begin setting up for this year's commencement ceremony I thought to myself where did the time go! It seems like I just did this for the Class of 2008! The year passed before our eyes so quickly! I'm always excited to be a part of JA's celebration! Again we photographed each and every student receiving their diploma, some candids of the ceremony, and those that wanted portraits taken alone or with their families in front of the backdrop we had set up in the lobby. Our videographer, Cullen came with this year as my husband had a DJ gig elsewhere. He did a fabulous job videotaping the entire ceremony. We will be sending out the edited copies and pre-ordered prints etc. a lot sooner than was orginally quoted as I am working diligently in completing this project before our busy season starts! Those of you who did not order or who would like to order more prints of the images taken or extra copies of the DVD can do so through our online proofing website page back at our main site. Engagement ~ Erin & Scott

What a fun couple I got to work with today! Erin & Scott came to us via a referral from Rocky Mtn. Hog Roasters.... which by the way is a great caterer and venue to have your wedding at! We previously talked about all the different locations and things we could do for an engagement shoot and ultimately decided upon starting on the very mountain that Scott proposed to Erin! They brought their dogs with them as originally they wanted them to be the ring bearers at their wedding and after thinking about the logistics of having them as a part of the ceremony they decided against it.... I suggested having them in their engagement shoot because they are also having me create a guest book for them with the images from their session... this way their dogs can be a part of the event without actually being there! We also traveled back down the mountain to a park in Northglenn by Scott's condo so that we could do some photos with his prized antique car! Another great way to personalize the photos! I hope you love the photos as much as I do... I'm excited to be covering your wedding in August!

Our team of myself, my husband, Mike as their DJ and Cullen as one of our talented videographers were extremely privileged to be part of Nichole & Max's wedding at Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada. We met Max's family a couple years ago when they chose us to cover Max's sister's wedding. We've basically became their family wedding photographer and videographer and this year we added on DJ to the services we provided to them. It was great seeing everyone again and being such an important part of their day. Nichole created a completely different feel to her wedding then what Jasmine had... by dimming the lights and adding lots of candles it was like I wasa working in a completely different church! Thanks again for choosing us to cover your wedding! We wish both lots of joy and happiness in the coming years!

Our good friends Taleen & Jeremy eloped today! It was quite a surprise to all of us! I tagged along to make sure they had some great photos from their wedding. Just because you are getting married at the courthouse doesn't mean you can't still have some fun and exciting photos from your special day!
Taleen has been working as a videographer for our company for a few years now. She does an amazing job, we are both Art Institute Alumni and we met when she had to do an internship for school and she decided to do one with our company and we've been friends ever since... she is an amazingly gifted artist as well as a creative videographer. I'm so excited for you two! Here's to Happily Ever After.....

We were back photographing APC Preschool's children again for their Spring session.... this year the weather cooperated with us! No indoor pictures this time for these kids... it was fun in the sun playing on the playground! This just made me yearn for the days of no worries, boundless energy, and jungle gyms! Order forms with proof-sheets have been delivered to the school. All orders need to be returned to the school no later than Monday, May 4th. After that orders can only be placed via the website. Instructions and passwords have been given to the parents on their order forms. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us.

Engagement ~ Annie & Nick

And so it begins... the beginning of the 2009 wedding season. Annie & Nick are getting married in June. We headed down to the Botanical Gardens to do their engagement shoot. We had the challenge of rain today which eventually turned into snow later that evening and as most of you Coloradans know blanketed the entire state for two days. Luckily, the rain stopped just long enough for us to get some amazing outdoor shots and then we took some in the atrium. Nick works at the Botanical Gardens; so taking photos in the atrium where he works was important to him. I even got the full tour of the orchid room, which just happens to be my favorite flower!! I was pretty excited to see that!
I was saddened to hear from Nick that the Botanical Gardens will no longer be allowing professional photographers to do professional photo-shoots there unless it is a wedding that is booked there due to some bad apples! Apparently, one photographer had their model jump into a pond there (I'm guessing it was a trash the dress session) and another one dug up plants they didn't want in their shoot... come on guys! This a botanical conservatory. You'd think they'd have more sense than that, but apparently not.... and now they have ruined this opportunity for the rest of us! I'm all about pond jumping for a "trash the dress" session just not where there are expensive and maybe even endangered plants!!! I would still love the opportunity to do photos at this lovely location, maybe the gardens can start charging a fee that would cover the expense of a "tour guide" that would go with you during the shoot to make sure you are behaving... amazing that it has to come to that, but another alternative they should consider! I'm very excited about covering this couple's wedding... you guys were a lot of fun to work with on this engagement session and I only look for it to be a great wedding!

Reminder ~ Senior Announcements

Just a reminder to all of the 2009 seniors who had their photos taken with us this past year. Photo announcements can be ordered through us... most of our styles are the less expensive route to go compared to the announcements you order through your school. Plus these announcements not only have your photograph on them, but a place to put your open house information as well without having to purchase a separate card to go in your announcement.
They do take a few weeks to be completed and returned from our pro-lab, so if you are thinking about ordering them and having them back in time to send out before your commencement ceremony now is the time to order them! Give us a call.

Prom Dress Exchange ~ March 14th - 15th

We wanted to mention that Copper Fields Event Chateau is hosting it's ninth annual Prom Dress Exchange. This effort has provided formal evening gowns to hundreds of deserving young ladies who couldn't otherwise afford to go to prom. The exchange collects gently used evening gowns throughout the year from a multitude of women and organizations throughout the metro area.

If you know of a young prom goers who may need a dress, she and others are invited to attend The Prom Dress Exchange. This year's Exchange is scheduled for two consecutive days:

March 14th and 15th 2009

Girls do not have to prove any need and there is no charge to attend the exchange. A $10 donation is greatly appreciated if a girl is successful in finding a dress. This donation is used to offset the costs of cleaning and storing the gowns, as well as purchasing clothing racks, hangars, and garment bags.

Want to donate a dress? it's easy. Dresses should be in good condition and in a plastic bag of some type. Simply leave the bagged gown at Copper Fields' front door any time of day or night. Dresses are accepted year-round and no appointment is necessary.

Wedding ~ Janeen & Robert

I will admit that I was a little nervous about Janeen & Robert's wedding plans when they contacted me... a February wedding outdoors at Red Rocks Amphitheater! But the day turned out beautiful... lots of sunshine, warm weather, and light wind... all pluses in my book for a lovely wedding. They had a simple ceremony with just their pastor and three guests, we were on hand to videotape and photograph it so that they could share it with friends and family at a later date. I got to thinking after we booked this one that there are lots of couples (especially this year) that are doing simple or downsized weddings and I wanted to create a package to cater to those not needing complete all day coverage.... So for this year at least, we are offering a 2 hour package of both photo and video for $600.00. This package can only be booked 60 days out from your event, if we are still available, hopefully this will help some deserving couples be able to still afford professional coverage of their wedding.
Again, we had a great time with the "Garcia's" and wish you both lots of love and happiness!

We photographed an event held by Lynn Skinner at the Copper Fields Event Chateau on Valentine's Day! It was a lovely evening that both showcased her talents and the venue's beauty! Another amazing place to hold your wedding or special event! Give Cheryl a call and tell her we sent you! Also Lynn is available to sing for events and I highly recommend her, a beautiful voice!

My friend, Katie and I went out to Spice of Life's Event Center today to do a "Trash the Dress" session... it was pretty low key as far as trashing the dress goes... Katie wanted to do the session with us, but also did not want anything to happen to the dress. For these sessions you can make them as "dirty" as you want them to be! Maybe you are adventurous and think jumping in a lake would be lots of fun or maybe you are more reserved and would just like a nice portrait (and another reason to wear the dress before you put into storage) whatever the reason, it should be fun! This after the wedding session has become a really popular thing to do with today's bride... we can even incorporate the groom in these sessions as well.
Spice of Life Event Center was gracious enough to allow us to come out there to use their facility for these shots! It is a wonderful facility for weddings and other events! Picturesque views of the mountains and located on Flatirons Golf Course along with catering by a fabulous company! If you haven't booked a facility for 2009 yet give them a call as they do still have lots of dates open!

Our company did photo and video for Cielle & Brandon's wedding in Manitou Springs in July and just the video for Jenny & Joel's wedding in September. Roxie came to me as a referral from Lauren. We did a calendar of photos for Lauren's husband who is overseas with the military and Roxie wanted to do the same for her boyfriend. Doing these types of photos are a lot of fun for me and my clients! It's like playing dress-up for two hours! Roxie is also a very gorgeous girl so happy that I was able to do this for her!

Our Image in The Perfect Wedding Guide's "I Do With a View"

The new winter issue of The Perfect Wedding Guide was just released and we have a full page photo in their "I Do With A View" section... this awesome couple's photo was taken at their May 2008 wedding. They were actually married at a church in Lafayette with a reception that followed at the Boulder Broker Inn... so I suggested that we stopped off to do some romantic photos of just the two of them at Chatautauqua Park in between. This is a great way to have some fun personal outdoor environmental portraits on your wedding! So even if you dreamed of having a lavish outdoor wedding, but mom and dad insist you get married in a church you can still incorporate some lovely outdoor portraits by choosing a nearby park or cool urban location and scheduling 20-30 minuted in between the ceremony and reception to take extra photographs of just the two of you or maybe you and the wedding party. Either way it makes for a nice addtion to your wedding photos!

We had the privilege of photographing Pomona's Youth Wrestling Team this evening... it has been a little while since I have photographed such a large group and our original plan of doing the group photo in the gym was foiled by the rescheduling of a high school basketball game! So we had to make due with other options, that's when we found this stairwell... I'll admit I was a little worried that we would not fit everyone in, but we did it! We had a lot of fun with this one! The kids were great! I love the exprssions on their faces when they go to pose in their wrestling stance! I can't wait until they get their photos back!

So Jessa and I met through a close friend of mine who is actually related to her through marriage. She is a very talented photojournalist who began shooting weddings for my company last year! Soon after she started working for us she found out she was pregnant! How exciting... Brian and her live in Vail, so they spent the weekend with us as her relatives were throwing a baby shower for her in Denver... I wanted to give them some personal photos that documented their pregnancy and we came up with some really great shots! I think I finally got the fabric drape photo right! The baby is due any day now, so I can't wait to meet their new addition and add some newborn photos to their book!

So my neighbor, DeeDee and I had been planning maternity portraits for months... then we actually started scheduling it, but both were so busy that we kept rescheduling it..... then finally we were set... Sunday we were going to do the photos 10am! I was all set to go and then she didn't show up... I then realized, baby Dillon was on his way so we were going to have to settle for newborn photos instead... awww... I can't complain, he's adorable! I'm so excited for the both of them... a new adventure awaits! Congratulations guys!
