Most of the time it actually doesn't take very much time to do, it is merely uninteresting to write, and sometimes just bothersome as it is knee deep in other code. What I find is that if I try hard NOT to write any TODOs, I end up with substancially superior code.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-115381356369127649?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1152399101895464542006-07-08T18:51:00.000-04:002006-07-08T18:51:41.896-04:00VIDEO: 12 yr old Girl Stopped AGEing at 9 Months - Only Known Case Ever<a href="http://digg.com/videos_educational/VIDEO%3A_12_yr_old_Girl_Stopped_AGEing_at_9_Months_-_Only_Known_Case_Ever">VIDEO: 12 yr old Girl Stopped AGEing at 9 Months - Only Known Case Ever</a>: "Stopped Ageing at 9 Months old - Has been Near Death even Strokes - but suddenly Fully Recovered"<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-115239910189546454?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1152398588323482172006-07-08T18:43:00.000-04:002006-07-08T18:43:08.396-04:00Mr. T prefers a double-shot of espresso with two graham crackers, go figure<a href="http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2006/07/07/659014.aspx">Mr. T prefers a double-shot of espresso with two graham crackers, go figure</a>: "Back in November, Paul Davidson popped into his local Starbucks coffee shop and ended up in line right behind Mr. T. I suspect the physicists get it the worst, starting with the old standbys of perpetual motion machines and faster-than-light travel, then tossing in quantum mechanics and nuclear physics, and stirring with large quantities of long rambling text that makes no sense. But my experience is with mathematics. When I was in college, the mathematics department would post 'interesting letters' onto the bulletin board. The ones I remember: A claimed proof of Fermat's Last Theorem by means of music theory. It started with 3² + 4² = 5², then somehow converted this into musical notation, transposed it into another key, and then concluded that the proof was complete. There were many 'proofs' of Fermat's Last Theorem on the bulletin board. A letter from an inmate at a correctional facility who had developed a system for winning the lottery and merely needed a printout of all possible ways of choosing 6 numbers from a pool of 46. A day ago, I went down the walk from class back to my dorm with the express notion of *feeling* my walk. It was one of the most lucid experiences i've ever had. <br /><br />One of the things about having all this media around, video games, and other gratification is that it removes my sense of reality. My brain is less in my own body and more in the realm of ideas. It seems to me that as our species gets more technologically advanced, more and more people will feel this way.<br /><br />But do people on computers all day feel more out of body than I do? I'm not sure. It's only recently that i've found that *experiencing* a roller coaster instead of trying to push it away is the best thing to do. Maybe now i'll try to experience life too. <br /><br />When you go out today, *feel* yourself. It's odd, but, being tangible is fun.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-114085851188898617?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1139441961527300802006-02-08T18:39:00.000-05:002006-02-25T04:08:56.253-05:00Wow.http://www.cuddleparty.com/press/nerve.html<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113944196152730080?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1134813241787733452005-12-17T04:53:00.000-05:002005-12-17T04:54:01.796-05:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4564/1818/1600/cone5.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4564/1818/400/cone5.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br />THE CONE OF TRAGEDY<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113481324178773345?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1134448472975246682005-12-12T23:32:00.000-05:002006-02-25T04:09:16.236-05:00SocietySociety as a whole is hopelessly corrupt. We prosecute and jail 89 year olds for selling their prescription pills to addicts. We put them in jail for six months where they die. We execute men who have turned their lives around in jail, for no purpose but retribution. We spend millions of dollars and thousands of lives to fight an imaginary invader for no reason but wildly lashing revenge at an enemy that never attacked us. <br /><br />People are not just evil, but stupid too.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113444847297524668?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1134354377374282242005-12-11T21:25:00.000-05:002006-02-25T04:09:27.533-05:00Retrophone<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/front/retrophone_handset.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/front/retrophone_handset.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;">Brilliant.<br />(http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/electronic/7830/)<br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113435437737428224?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1134340645857716412005-12-11T17:35:00.000-05:002005-12-11T17:37:25.866-05:00MemoryI realize now, that I remember my past in pain much more than pleasure. The most pertient of my memories are all of suffering, sorrow, or loss. I can hardly remember a birthday party that i've had, but I remember with great detail when someone has been mad at me. I recall suffering best of all. Perhaps that's why I live the way I do. It isn't hedonistic, but I try so hard to discard discomfort. It is perhaps because I am afraid to remember it.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113434064585771641?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1134337648296952022005-12-11T16:47:00.000-05:002005-12-11T16:47:28.306-05:00Pixelfest!A picture that anyone can edit, one pixel at a time. Pain binds the soul to the body. The first thing we feel when we enter the world, the first thing that binds us to life, is the striking of pain that we soon learn to indulge in. The only way to live then, is to accept it, and welcome it into our existences. Only by understanding suffering can we realize who we are as people.<br /><br />Christ recognized that he had to suffer, in order to spare humanity eternal damnation, yet that did not mean it spared us suffering. God thy father who thou art in heaven allows this sorrowful reality to exist. It teaches us. Sorrow binds us to our bodies, the apple of wisdom revealing onto us the truth of pain.<br /><br />Discard the illusion of hiding from suffering, and embrace terrible sensation, for it alone is truth.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113429349294066803?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1134002410585196382005-12-07T19:36:00.000-05:002005-12-07T19:40:15.573-05:00Seen in the chem departmentA paper in small print above a dismanted emergency eye wash sink in the Chem recitation room:<br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;font-size:180%;" >Please use eyewash sink in room 451 or 431</span><br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113400241058519638?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1133061930234157202005-11-26T22:24:00.000-05:002005-11-26T22:25:30.253-05:00Forced to show form of ID on a public bus, arrested, and thrown in jail for doing nothing wrong:<br /><br />http://www.papersplease.org/davis/<br /><br />Thanks, conservatives.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113306193023415720?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1132007469384433282005-11-14T17:25:00.000-05:002005-11-14T17:31:09.386-05:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4564/1818/1600/wd40.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4564/1818/320/wd40.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;">You know you have too much hair when...<br /></div><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113200746938443328?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1132007095850966032005-11-14T17:18:00.000-05:002005-11-14T17:24:55.860-05:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4564/1818/1600/YesOn73.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4564/1818/320/YesOn73.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Via <a href="http://www.zephoria.org/thoughts/" accesskey="1">apophenia </a><br />(from YesOn73 interest group)<br /><br />If you're a parent, and your 13 year old is pregant, your right to know ended, and you failed as a parent when you ignored your child long enough to let her in bed with a guy. Legislation won't fix incompetence as a parent.<br /><br />If a child feels that she cannot tell you, or does not want to tell you, then you have other issues on your hands. So many people seem to have this idea that legislation will do their job as a parent for them. Legislation like this is bad especially because it creates a false sense of security that the parent should be responsible for. The likely response for people that this legislation seems to be aimed at is those that would refuse the abortion, and let their children die in childbirth because of their own mistakes. They do not seek to protect life, but they refuse responsiblity of their own mistakes, and value their moral high ground over the suffering of their children.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/18551960-113200709585096603?l=chronarion.blogspot.com'/></div>chronarionnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18551960.post-1131518860169652112005-11-09T01:35:00.000-05:002005-11-09T02:14:06.546-05:00I had this crazy thought...<br /><br />My chinese CS graphics professor had a tendency to spew out large formulas on a blackboard without even consulting lecture notes of any sort.
