Why do I still play Pac Man?

I'm pretty sure that the first ever game humans played with each other was club-club... where just for fun you got to hit the other on the head with a wooden club.

Fortunately the world evolved to PONG in the late 1960s and its been much safer since then except for an occasional threat of nuclear invasion.

I like Tetris because it helps me switch off from general reality. There are no real people or objects or even their replicas. Everything is in the form of comfortable blocks, vertical, horizontal and L-Shaped.

Then of course the challenge Tetris presents is awesome in its simplicity. Its all about aligning the blocks right. Like so many simple things, there is much complexity in Tetris that only shows up after you've gotten comfortable with the game. Then you're back on to finger tapping, mind zapping frenzy as the game displays another hidden layer.

These are what make a lot of old time games popular. Like I'm sure you've thought of this but never really believed it that the Pac Man character was indeed inspired from a half eaten pizza.

The world is really as simple and as complex as a game. Some of us believe in reincarnation. That's respawning is all about. Fun isn't it?
