Speaking for myself, the one and only Motorcycle Web Chik, I had a ball at the 2007 Rally on the River at Green's Canoe Rental this past weekend. Hey, I got to continue to drool over the 2007 Hyosung GV250 in Silver and Black that I don't even know how to ride but would love to take home. I'm surprised Slam still has it. Y'think maybe it's just waiting for me to stop hesitating and snap it up?

We've all heard of alien abduction but how many of us have actually been abducted? According to Robbie, he's been aboard an alien spaceship...probed and prodded by aliens. He even claims they stole his memories of Shelley, his one great love (who didn't keep him either...). Hey...wait a minute...I thought this was a MOTORCYCLE show, not Aliens 'R Us...I thought Slam was the Man...WON'T ANYBODY KEEP ROBBIE????????

Congratulations to Rachel "The Hammer" Dunkus on her graduation from college and entry into the field of education in St. James, Missouri. Rachel will be teaching 4th graders. As a matter of fact, she's teaching summer school already! Slam and wife, Mary, are busy preparing the Dunkus household for a party to help Rachel celebrate. The Hammer? Well, according to Slam, Rachel is a MEAN volleyball player!

Meanwhile, back at KKID, Robbie Frish is planning his next alimony payment.....Trudy's the lucky recipient...but she has to go out with him first....I wonder if he's thinking of tempting her with a new motorcycle?????????

Peter, a self-professed non-biker dude, has presented Slam with a challenge.....how to change his non-biker status to macho-biker status (without the aid of alcohol in any form...). Gas Prices Getting you Down?

What better time to be in the motorcycle business, eh Slam? Prices around here (mid-Missouri) average about $2.75/gallon for regular unleaded. Fortunately, it's getting warm because I can abandon my pickup truck for my convertible. Unfortunately, I can't put the top down....but that's another story. My husband, Rick, bought a motorcycle from Slam last winter to tool around on the farm but he's thinking of licensing it now so he can drive it to and from work!

Val, being the on-the-spot chick that she is, found a gas hotline that continually updates the gas prices and was kind enough to call it during Jammin' with Slam this week. You'd better listen....and then you need to talk to Slam about that scooter he has with YOUR name on it!

Where are YOU on the mandatory helmet law question?

Should the mandatory helmet law in Missouri be repealed for riders over 21? Slam doesn't think so. He's voiced his opinion in this blog before and feels it's time to reiterate his stance. Bill HB994, which is sposored by Rep. Gary Dusenerg, assumes that riders over 21 who choose not to wear a helmet are aware of the risks they are taking and would give those riders the right to decide for themselves whether or not they want to take those risks. It's passed the House with a voice vote and is headed to the Senate. What say you?

Since I already posted my own "first experience..." on this blog, I guess it's OK that Slam shared it on the radio (Thanks, Steve...). Robbie (the new guy) had his own first experience to share as did Slam...y'know, I think Slam's dad musta been one tough cookie......HEY, what do you think I'm talking about here?????? I'm talking about first experiences on a motorized 2-wheel vehicle....!!!!

OK, I can't be a motorcycle web chik if I never rode a motorcycle, right? Well, I wasn't quite ready to ride an actual motorcycle but thought I'd be OK on a scooter. As you can see in the picture, Slam has a cool orange scooter that I just fell in love with and decided I just had to have for my birthday (sorry, Val...). The problem was, I've never even ridden on a mini-bike. I just started driving the riding lawnmower at my house 2 years ago because my husband, Rick, went to China and I had to mow the grass! I got hooked on that, especially when I discovered that it was really fun...not a lot of work like Rick always told me it was. I always wondered why he'd rather mow the lawn than do the laundry...
