Dresden Zoo Honors President Obama

In a less than brilliant PR move, the Dresden Zoo in Germany, recently named it's newborn mandrill monkey after President Barack Obama.

Almost immediately, the director of the Initiative for Black Germans complained, “It’s a catastrophe. Black people continue to be confronted by associations with the animal kingdom and primitivity.”

Manuela Collmar, a zookeeper at the zoo’s Afrika Haus responded, “This year they all begin with ‘O,’ and one of the employees chose ‘Obama’ – it was meant to be positive and an honor in light of his visit to Dresden in June,” She also added, “neither she nor her colleagues were aware of the history of using monkeys to caricature and ethnically stereotype black people”.

The Zoo promptly changed the monkeys name to Okeke, which means 'he who was born on market day’, or one, for short…

If A White House Teleprompter Falls During A Speech...
Does It Make a Sound?

Tragedy hit Washington DC yesterday when one of the two panels of President Obama's precious teleprompter ("TOTUS") came crashing down to a certain death.

Obama was midway in a speech when the event happened. He was then forced to hem and haw his way through the rest with the use of only one panel and kept glancing to his left where the former panel once stood.

Even TOTUS couldn't take any more of his socialist spiel.

It's Test Time!

The Confirmation Hearing for Judge Sotomayor has begun in the United States Senate. This is a real test. But the test is not for Ms. Sotomayor. The test is for Republicans.

In the 1990’s, President Clinton had two opportunities during his tenure to replace Supreme Court Justices and his picks were the obviously liberal and activist judges, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer. These two Justices received precisely 3 and 9 Republican “no” votes, respectively. That was pathetic, given the extent to which Republicans then knew full well that each of these Justices would often times ignore their role to interpret the law in order to seek an outcome based on some other rationale… say, “empathy,” or what is “in their hearts.”

Today and in the coming days, Republicans can choose how to approach the confirmation question of Judge Sotomayor and their decision will say a lot about whether the Republican Party, as a whole, has any fight left in it…

Mount Rushmore May Adjust Security After Protest

Mount Rushmore officials may change their security measures after environmentalists were able to hang a banner from atop the national monument, a spokesman said.

The activists intentionally damaged part of the memorial's security system and were able to delay rangers' response to the demonstration Wednesday, said Nav Singh, a spokesman for the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. He would not be more specific.

"We're going to take this opportunity, as we do with all other opportunities, to do a self-assessment and check our security structure and identify things that are worth strengthening, based on what our investigation reveals," Singh said.

Buzz Aldrin Says He's Skeptical of Climate Change Theories

While in England promoting the publication of his memoirs "Magnificent Desolation", former Apollo astronaut, Dr. Buzz Aldrin said he was very skeptical of climate change theories.

"I think the climate has been changing for billions of years," he said.

"If it's warming now, it may cool off later. I'm not in favor of taking short-term isolated situations and depleting our resources to keep our climate just the way it is today. I'm not of the school that we are causing it all, I think the world is causing it."

The White House must have thought that most Americans would be too worn out from the July 4th celebrations to get up and watch the Sunday morning news shows... so they sent in the clown... V.P Joe Biden, that is.

Crazy Joe appeared on ABC's This Week, with George Stephanopoulos and attempted to explain why the Obama administration's "Stimulus Package" has failed to deliver the promised fix to the American economy. Biden stated that, "We simply misread how bad the economy was" and was quick to add the now famous line, " We inherited this problem from the previous administration." Biden called a second economic stimulus package "premature at this point," but he wouldn't rule it out.

The height of the interview came when crazy Joe announced, " We Didn't Realize the Profound Economic Emergency Was a Profound Economic Emergency! "

Biden Gaffes... Again

Joe Biden doesn’t know the governor of
New Jersey from the governor of Virginia

Joe “But-But-But-But” Biden is a never-ending source of amusement. And amazement. Not to the biased media of course, who liked to ignore all but Republican gaffes.

They sent the Vice President out to speak at a LGBT fundraiser the other night. He spoke for about twenty minutes and managed to cover all the gay bases. So far, so good. His keepers were breathing a sigh of relief as he came down the home stretch. Then disaster Biden struck.

He wrapped up his remarks by saluting Tim Kaine as the “great governor of New Jersey.” The only problem is, Kaine is the governor of Virginia, not New Jersey. One would think Biden would know this, because Kaine is also chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Sending Joe Biden out to speak is becoming an exercise in sadism. But what the hell, this was the LGBT dinner, so a little sadism will probably go unnoticed.
