Hamilton is always there when the community calls on it. As witnessed by our City’s generous response to the annual Mother’s Day Telethon and the amount we raise for The McMaster Children’s Hospital, it is quite evident that we are a giving and caring community.
Today there is a call on our citizens once again for a new event that could hopefully become an annual occasion for our City. In conjunction with The Juravinski Cancer Foundation, a Film Production Company from Hamilton (Moe-tion Pictures), is set to release its debut feature film, “3 Days.” This film has been in the works for the last few years and with the help of over 350 Hamiltonians, it has finally been completed. The journey began for Moe-tion Pictures in March of 2002 and 4 years later, it is ready to be shown to the public.
“A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this film”, says Director Moe, whose love and passion for this project is quite obvious after learning about his struggle and sacrifice to make his dream come true. Moe goes on to say, “This film is not about me, it’s about the creative energy of everyone involved in making a low budget independent film become a reality. We are ready to celebrate a great accomplishment of the collaboration of the many generous Hamiltonians who believed in the independent spirit of filmmaking.”
Moe’s generous nature seems to be infectious and he believes his dream can come to serve an even greater purpose. With the help of his small team of volunteers, Moe-tion Pictures has decided to screen its film at Hamilton place and has invited the community to join the celebration by offering free admission to this event (which will include musical entertainment and other attractions.) By teaming up with The Juravinski Cancer Foundation, attendees will instead be asked to give a charitable donation toward its fight to find a cure for this deadly disease.
lease join us for this very special event and worthy cause and continue to show how the great citizens of Hamilton support its community.
A FILM EVENT at HAMILTON PLACE on SATURDAY JULY 22, 2006 at 7 PM. ADMISSION IS FREE. RESERVE YOUR SEATS BY CALLING (905) 546-4085. DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE JURAVINSKI CANCER CENTER.

Banditohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08595156080571702464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18251365.post-1151893449819968932006-07-02T19:20:00.000-07:002006-07-02T19:24:09.833-07:00BG The Bozing Great Dane
Known as the official motivator of Moetion Picture Productions, BG "the boxing Great Dane" makes her first film appearance in '3 Days'. For over 5 years BG has been a member of Moe's family, who regularly brings her to the office. Although her hobbies include sleeping on couches around the office, she is always eager to meet guests who come to the studio, where she creates a welcoming environment. Some of her idols include Scooby Doo and Joe Louis. BG would like to thank Moe for all his love and support, and John Savidis for always being willing to take a punch. Most recently, Murphy was employed as the A-Camera Operator/Steadicam of Touchstone Television's Music Man mini-series set to air on ABC next spring. Prior to that, Murphy's worked with Academy Award Winner Peter Pau (Director of Photography for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) on Miramax's Dracula 2000 and Universal Pictures The Bride of Chucky

Murphy is from St.Anns in the Niagara Peninsula whose business experience has included 28 years in the television and film industry, with the last 17 years as one of Canada's elite Steadicam operators. "Keith has years of experience, his techniques and the craftsmanship he brings to the last stage of our production guarantees 3 Days success," said MOE, President, MOE-TION Picture Productions. The filming schedule is broken down into the following three phases of production:

Still/Action Photography - wrapped up in July, 2002

Super 8mm Photography - wrapped up in early September, 2002

35mm Photography - scheduled for September 14 - 21

It is this last warm format of production that Murphy will be shooting. "3 Days is a great opportunity! I've been searching for the right vehicle and team to establish myself as Director of Photography 3 Days looks like it has a mainstream budget, when in reality, it has almost no budget. Murphy explains this aberration resulting from all of the hard work by the team.

Once again, 3 Days will be filming in Hamilton. Murphy is particularly excited about the scenes being shot at the Staircase Caf on Dundurn Street "it's the perfect setting to shoot the New York loft scene". In order to ensure the authenticity of the scenes Murphy will only be using high-end professional equipment that is state of the art. "What we're using is the stuff used in Academy Award winning films", says Murphy. Murphy, who has a long association with Panavision Canada, approached the company in May about the equipment needed in the final Phase. In August, Zoe Iltsopoulos, Marketing Executive from Panavision Toronto informed MOE-TION that "Panavision believes in MOE's vision and supports 3 Days."

For more information, visuals, artwork on 3 Days - Keith Murphy, team bio's, community support and general inquiries - please do not hesitate to contact me.

« Back to News Releases

Banditohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08595156080571702464noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18251365.post-1130197730146185902002-09-04T16:47:00.000-07:002005-10-26T13:56:06.233-07:003 days Star Proud to be Greek

3 days Star Proud to be Greek

The plates were breaking at Hamilton's Hellenic Community Hall

Hamilton - Wednesday, September 4, 2002 - is when 3 Days wraps up its second stage of production. 3 Days starring Hamilton's own John Savidis, local entrepreneur, businessman and 1998 US Open World Champion is also the executive producer of the feature film. The setting was discovered when MOE noticed a homeless person feeding the pigeons "it was most captivating to see the pigeons feed off the lady's hand, it brought back memories of my own childhood" says MOE.

For more information on 3 Days -production crew and cast bio's, community support and general inquiries - please do not hesitate to contact me.

« Back to News Releases

Banditohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08595156080571702464noreply@blogger.com0
