To soothe our spirits we had lunch at <br />Jasper White's Summer Shack - a good place<br />to find fresh seafood and feel as if you are<br />really on vacation, if only for a day.<br /><a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/1600/bubba%201.0.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/320/bubba%201.0.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br />Tempted by the two pound lobster,<br /><a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/1600/bubba4.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/320/bubba4.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br />I instead opted to share a Tuna Burger after <br />seeing the size of the portions....it was delicious!<br /><a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/1600/bubba2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/320/bubba2.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br />Simple American-Diner food done to<br />perfection. There was malt vinegar on the<br />table to douse the French fries with, as<br />well as ketchup. Lettuce and tomato<br />crisp and the dressings really good<br />again. Next time we're going to sit<br />up at the raw bar for fresh shucked<br />clams and oysters, sided with a cool<br />frothy draft beer.<br />His: Guess what? I did finally make<br />it down to see the dogs! Look <br />who I found: Willie!<br /><a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/1600/kenwillieweb.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1617/1747/320/kenwillieweb.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br />We also dined in the evening at Todd English's Tuscany Restaurant <br />at the Mohegan Sun. Here is our review:<br />Hers: No comment.<br />His: As you are strolling through the Casino,<br />you stop in awe at the magnificence of the<br />outside of this restaurant. Waterfalls and<br />great architecture with what appears to be<br />a wonderful, relaxing outside bar. When you<br />enter the restaurant, the atmosphere is one<br />of a bistro versus what you would expect to<br />be the environment of an upscale restaurant.<br />The host appears to be a trainee on a high<br />school internship program. The service is poor.<br />There is zero sophistication. The food is <br />questionable at best. Todd English should be<br />ashamed of himself and the Casino management<br />should try the restaurant. They may be in for a<br />rude awakening. Shame on everyone. If you want<br />to visit a decent restaurant in the Casino that<br />is relaxed, twenty percent of the price, and <br />finer food, go to Summer Shack (above).<div class="blogger-post-footer">His and Hers take on restaurants.
