　Please be sure all art submitted is properly wired for hanging. First place winners are not eligible for Artist of the Month again; however, they are eligible for Artist of the Year.

JULY DEMONSTRATION

Diane Petruscka will be our July demonstrator. She will show us proper framing techniques and use of color.

JUNE DEMONSTRATION

Doug Prine gave our demonstration. He works with a limited pallette of three colors to begin with: Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium; also White and Burnt Umber. From these he creates all the colors he needs! Very impressive! Doug sketches his subject first on canvas, doing the structural drawing first. He paints darkest shadows first. His work is detailed, and very expressive. He was quite inspiring!

The Weatherford Art Association is located in the old city hall building on Palo Pinto, one block west of historic downtown Weatherford and within walking distance of York Street, home to a myriad of antique shops and galleries.

Hours of operation vary based on activity, so call ahead to see what's going on.

About WAA

The Weatherford Art Association organized on July 14, 1966 as a non-profit organization with 32 charter members.

The purpose of the Association is to promote art appreciation among our members and the general public through educational activities, instructional programs, lectures, class instruction and public display of fine art.

Membership is open to all active artists willing to participate in the activities and maintenance of the Association on a regular basis. Inactive artists and non-artists who display an active interest in WAA's purposes may also become members. Membership dues are $35.00 per year payable each September.

Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Firehouse Art Center.
