Too busy with study

We've duplicated the AMS cannabis seeds site over on the back of the US review-a-gadget.com site in the hope of getting more US traffic. So far that hasn't worked, but I'm hoping that this post will make some tiny difference to that.

I've had a couple of sales with AMS since the last post. My CR is just under 1% and my CTR is somewhere around 8%-9%. That's all okay as the payout is 35% of each sale. I just need more traffic from higher ranked keywords.

Made $7.00 on the review-a-gadget.com site today. First income for nearly 3-weeks. If I'm lucky I'll only lose about $60.00 this month. We're back up to 3 identical sites. It won't help, but at this point it can't hurt either.

Got another 'possible' cash sale from the new marijuana seed review pages today. If the 2 cash sales actually payoff I'll be about $37.00 closer to buying my own seeds. Also added 5 more pages that I think might have potential. Here they are in no specific order:

Haze Marijuana Seeds look pretty gnarly. I definitely want some Light of Jah Marijuana Seeds, but they are really expensive. The giggle factor is supposed to be quite good though. Spoke to CJ about the lack of Review-A-Gadget.Com sales. They just said everything was okay with the tracking and to be patient. Bugger that. I'm moving on to the new Marijuana site.

Well, it seems that we're AUD $14.00 closer to getting some seeds from Amsterdam. We've had a sale that was marked cash, and according to the guy at AMS these are the sales that come through (but can take up to 21 days).

Just modified the footer of all of my Marijuana seed site pages in an effort to make the pages more appealing to text search engines, and to get lots more text referrals like I am getting image search results.

Review-A-Gadget is oficially dead as an enterprise. Last month we lost about $40.00, and we're set to lose about $65.00 this month if things don't improve. Over 800 pages, 2200 inlinks, and only $2.00 in comissions this month so far.

Okay, so I've been experimenting with some marijuana seed affiliate pages for the past 10 days or so. I've been promised $96.00 in commissions for the 10 pages in that period, but we will have to wait to see whether the purchasers actually come up with the cash first. If it does work out then I think my next site will be along the lines of reviewing marijuana seeds and marijuana seed suppliers.

Can't Get Stoned!

I've been trying to procure marijuana seeds from 'friends' out on the net. So far That's come up blank (but I'm still open to offers), so I went cruising an inner city park that drug dealers are known to frequent last night. That turned up a blank also, and I'm kind of glad it did. I don't really like the idea of supporting that sort of enterprise. So, anyway I'm stuck without dope seeds for my next big growing effort planned for after I finish Uni later this year. Looks like I'm going to have to risk buying seeds on the Net from the Netherlands, and just hope I don't get busted for importing. Am I going to pay $100 for 10 seeds delivered? No way! The plan is to knock together a couple of crappy dope seed supply affiliate pages, and hope I can amass the necessary funds before early next spring.

Here are the 10 crappy dope seed supply affiliate pages I knocked together today. First was a page for White Widow Marijuanna Seeds. I think I grew some of that once. Boy was it strong! Next was a page for something called Charas Marijuana Seeds. Caramelicious Marijuana Seeds are something I've never seen before. Californian Skunk Marijuana Seeds look like the sort of crap you get regularly in my end of the world. I'm sure I've had something that resembles the Bob Marley Sativa Marijuanna Seeds on this page. That's the sort of thing that gets you talking with God if no-one else is around. I don't think I've ever seen Big Bud Marijuanna Seeds in these parts. That's supposed to be a stumpy sort of thing that has trouble supporting it's own weight. Azura Marijuana Seeds look pretty interesting. Aussie Blues Marijuanna Seeds are also something I haven't come across. Then we come to the Indica varieties. I'm sure I've had something like Amsterdam Indica Marijuana Seeds or perhaps even Afghan Marijuana Seeds. I remember just totally melting into my bed one time after smoking 'stoney' Indica type hooch. Well, that's the lot for now. Why am I breaking my ass to promote my stupid Gadget Site? Here I am writing more crappy link bait that no one is ever going to read, and for a website that made only $18.00 so far this month. There has to be a more productive use for time.

Anyway, we've started another blog at LiveJournal. It won't ever get any PR, so really isn't worth the effort. Never the less...

What happened to RC Helicopter sales at Christmas? Seems we need to push the PR of those pages a bit. Here goes:

The Winner Full Function Electric RC Helicopter doesn't need to be promoted much. It's already at PR3! The Picco Z X-Wing RTF Electric RC Mini Helicopter seems to be having some trouble getting on the board, though. The Hughes 300 RTF Electric RC Helicopter is doing okay at PR2, and is getting the same numbers of hits as the Winner. The Dark Knight 2 Electric Helicopter has no PR yet, and doesn't seem to be coming up in search results either. The Silverlit Gyrotor X-Rotor RC Electric RTF Mini Helicopter has PR0, but seems to be getting the odd hit despite this. One of my favourites is the EF Sabre Electric 4CH RC Helicopter which hasn't been ranked, but is getting the odd hit too. Similarly unranked, yet failing badly is the Hobby Source XR-1 4 Channel RTF Electric RC Helicopter. Up in the high end price range is the Kyosho Caliber 400 Electric RC Helicopter, which is at PR2 and has some traffic too. The Hughes RC Electric Rescue Helicopter is junk with no PR and no traffic. In addition, the Mini Bumblebee RTF RC Electric Helicopter isn't ranked and has no visitors. I'd like the Hawk 3CH RTF RC Electric Helicopter to do a little better. As yet unranked. The Aerobus Electric Helicopter is more junk with PR to match. I wouldn't mind if the SRC Pegasus Dual Blade RTF 4CH Electric Helicopter had some PR and traffic. Another quality item being overlooked by Google is the Hawk 252 RTF Electric RC Helicopter. The full featured SRC Dark Knight 2SE RTF 6CH 3D Electric RC Helicopter is also being ignored. What a waste. The Dragonfly Full Function Mini Electric RC Helicopter isn't ranked. I'm sure this is one of my favourites, but the Dark Knight RC Electric 4CH RTF Helicopter is unranked. The Park Flyers RC Hovercraft RTF Helicopter Trainer has no hits and no rank. Unranked and ignored also is the RC Scope Tech Type X 4 Channel RTF Electric RC Helicopter. Align T-Rex 450XL CCPM ARF Electric RC Helicopter - no rank, no traffic. Align T-Rex 450SE ARF Electric RC Helicopter - dead in the water. Also dead is the Electric RC Helicopter Shogun 400 V2. Overlooked is the RC Electric 3 Channel Mini Helicopter. Unranked and with no traffic is the Kyosho Caliber M24 Electric RC Helicopter RTF. Insignificant also is the Beast Mini RTR Electric RC Helicopter. Unranked and dead is also the Black Hawk BH-S70 Electric RC Helicopter. The popular Blade Runner Full Function Electric RC Helicopter is also unranked and overlooked. Carbon Fibre construction hasn't helped the AH64 Apache Longbow 2CH RTF Electric RC Helicopter, which has PR0 and minimal traffic. Last is another Picco Z RTF Mini Electric RC Helicopter 2007 Version 3, which has no ranking.

It looks like we're racing towards another record poor monthly performance at Review-A-Gadget. A $20.00 return would be an optimistic January projection based on performance thus far.

So, we've splurged a few dollars on paid PR5 inlinks. They would up on the same page, but at least have different anchor texts. One of the link swaps I did last month went southward, so I lost 3 PR3 inlinks in the process. Who cares!

Each of my content pages at the gadget review site has a 'popular pages' link section. This raises the PR given to a few selected pages and makes them my principal landing pages. Most of the Airsoft links I had in my popular pages section had expired, so after people clicked through a popular landing page they found themselves at a merchant's Airsoft product menu page, as opposed to the page associated with the respective artice. Not good! Anyway, we've fixed that now. The new Airsoft popular page links all go somewhere. Here they all are:

That should do well over time. Our third Airsoft UZI, and another new one, is the MAC11 Gas Powered Blowback UZI Airsoft Sub Machine Gun. Another recently added Airsoft MP5 is the AEG Electric CYMA MP5 Airsoft Sub Machine Gun. New again is this Airsoft Assault Rifle, the TSD Electric M4 Airsoft Assault Rifle. Expected to do big things in the Airsoft Sniper Rifle category is the Spring UTG Airsoft Sniper Rifle Accushot Competition Master Model 700. A new arrival in the Airsoft Sub Machine Gun category is the Electric Star UMP AEG Airsoft Gun. The Electric Tokyp Marui MP5SD5 AEG Airsoft Gun is a very expensive Airsoft MP5 Gun. A neat addition to Airsoft M16 is the Electric M16 Airsoft Assault Rifle. Very cool looking, and new to the popular Airsoft Assault Rifle group is the AEG Electric XM8 Airsoft Assault Rifle. That's probably enough search engine term stuffing for now.

Unremarkable Christmas

Well we've just finished our first Christmas at Review-A-Gadget.Com. Rather than the spectacular revenue that was predicted some 12-months ago, it was a wholey unremarkable month in terms of sales. Oh, well. We've got nearly 2/3 of the gas money for next years expedition to Coral Bay secured at least.

For the past couple of days I've been lurking within Digital Point's forums trying to buy, sell or exchange links to raise the Gadget Site PageRank. No luck buying links, even with my new website sponsorship program. They all said I was'nt paying enough, but when I tried to sell a few links at the price everyone said I should be paying, guess what? No takers! I'll just keep a watch on the eBay link prices and try to match those. I did manage to get a few low PR, low outbound link exchanges. I'll have to stiff a few of those in the next couple of weeks though, as my homepage is looking pretty untidy at the moment.

We've managed to find a few good link partners in the last couple of days, and have also found some duds that need chasing. I think I'll target a few more bloggers as they seem to be more generous with the linking.

Yay! At last a couple of small sales. I'm not sure if it's a sign of things coming right after the fiasco with being hosted on my brother's server. There's hope for a few dollars this Christmas it seems. At least enough to pay the site costs I hope.

Let's take a quick look at some MP3 Player links. First up is the 512MB Blue Sony Walkman MP3 Player. There's also a 1GB version of the Sony Walkman MP3 Player that comes in silver. Here's an old style Apple iPod Nano MP3 Player that has a 2GB memory. There's also a 4GB version of this Apple iPod Nano. Much more modern and stylish is this 4GB blue Apple iPod Nano MP3 Player. Apple iPod Digital Multimedia Devices are popular these days, and this one comes with a 30GB hard disk. This is one of my favourites. The Creative Muvo MP3 Player has a 2GB flash memory and is super compact. The Creative Zen Nano MP3 Player has a 1GB flash and comes complete with earphones. Pick of the bunch is the Creative Zen Vision Portable Media Player with 60GB memory and a large, bright display. The Philips MP3 Player is a strange device with wobling window controls and tiny 512MB memory. The Sandisk Sansa MP3 Player has a 1GB flash memory and lets you preview still images on the tiny inbuilt display. The RCA LYRA Personal Digital MP3 Player is another one of these small 512MB devices. The Nextar MP3 Player has a 1GB memory and inbuilt FM tuner. Neat!

Oh, and here's a new page I added yesterday. The MAC11 Airsoft UZI Sub Machine Gun shoots at 300 FPS and carries 40 rounds.

Well, the brother dumped me from his server and I'm glad to be through with him. The gadget site has been temporarily relegated to a subdirectory on my ISP home account. We'll find it a better home at GoDaddy as soon as I can figure out how to pay for it.

I've just discovered a major discrepancy between hits to my site, as recorded by my independent hit counter, and the number of impressions being reported at Commission Junction. No wonder earnings are down to just $5.00 this month. Clearly someone along the food chain isn't playing by the rules and I'm being ripped off for hits and comissions. I've written to CJ and Hobbytron asking each to explain the discrepancy. We'll see what happens. At least my bastard brother is out of the equation, so if it's anything to do with the sh*t I was putting up with from him, then at least I'm over that now.

Here are some of my links that have had a great many hits today. The Glock 18 Airsoft Pistol had 14 hits over just a few hours. The Kyosho Inferno 4WD Remote Control Buggy had 5 hits in the same period. This high powered Spring Airsoft Rifle had 15 hits. Suprisingly the Logitech QuickCam Messenger USB Camera rated well with 5 hits. I don't think I've sold any of those. It looks like Airsoft UZI Sub Machine Gun toys are on the cards for Christmas. This Airsoft Machine Gun had a staggering 26 hits in just a few hours.

My brother sucks!

Study at University is over for another semester, and I can now get back to doing a few fun things for a while. My highest priority was to shift my Airsoft and remote control website from my brother's server to one at GoDaddy.com. The problem, however, is that I don't earn enough money to obtain a credit card, and GoDaddy want a credit card number even if you pay by PayPal! I asked my brother Martin if he could help me out by making the website purchase on his credit card, but he is very un-brotherly towards me. He just said "go get a Visa debit card". I told him this would cost me over $182.00 in the first year alone, and that it was out of my reach financially, but he couldn't care less. I love my brother, but he consistently spits in my face.

Well the Christmas rush I had expected for the gadget site never eventuated for a number of reasons. Firstly there is the issue of very low Google search engine inclusion and traffic figures. I'm down to 50% of my pages being indexed, and daily hits are averaging just over 100 on any day. Secondly, a great many of my pages have expired. That is, that the products which I had reviewed and linked to are nolonger on offer by the merchants I had recommended. This all happened in one major merchant website update, suspiciously just before Christmas. I think they do this to take the greater slice of the Christmas take for themselves, and it has worked well as I have earned only $5.00 this month so far! So much for the Christmas rush.

This blog seems to have attracted a PageRank of 3. That doesn't mean that it experiences a great many hits, but it can't be hurting the PageRank of my gadget review site which I most consistently link to. I might see if I can get a few more quality inlinks from other popular blogs.

Christmas is upon us, and if you are looking for gifts then I have the following suggestions to offer. Why not consider one or more Airsoft gun toys for the more boisterous. My most popular review is for the AEG Electric M4 Airsoft Assault Rifle pictured below.

It looks like the Google embargo has begun to lift. After removing the duplicate set of underscore_delimited files from the gadget site at http://www.review-a-gadget.com/, and leaving just the dash-delimited files, the total number of pages in the Google primary index began to climb. This was unexpected as the robots.txt file was setup to restrict search engine access to the old fileset, so it seems that Google doesn't play by it's own rules. We've now got 46 of 438 pages in the primary directory (10.5%), and pretty much all the rest covered by the supplemental. Fingers crossed it will continue to improve, and we'll soon see some reasonable sales again. What a relief!

I've been e-mailing competitor websites to try to get a few more 'related' inlinks for my Review A Gadget website. I may have as many as 3 so far, but that's not many given the effort and hours involved.

Google still have only 7 of my website pages listed in the primary index, so no sales expected for some time.

This afternoon we did a bit more work on putting the Honda Civic back together. I've got the bottom half of the engine re-assembled and ready to hoist back into the engine bay. Tomorrow I'll lift it into position and wrestle the front suspension back into place. Then I will only have to replace the head and I should have a very economical reconditioned engine to toot around with.

The gadget website at http://www.review-a-gadget.com/ is still doing very poorly due to continued pitifull search engine inclusion. I've been busy trying to procure directly relevant inlinks from competitor's websites, and have even added a new link page to the site. After 60 or 70 e-mail enquiries I've only managed to get 1 new inlink and one further maybe.

After a week long spell of no results, at last a sale! The RC RTR Hydro Sport Boat is a super example of an all Electric Remote Control Speedboat.
