They're extremely good; very creamy, they're marketed as needing less butter than normal potatoes.

If you look in the menu section of the site, you'll see a Tartiflette I made a couple of months ago with Vivaldi - I think I talked a little about them there.Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13896235681242722952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17613825.post-1144839714993672852006-04-12T12:01:00.000+01:002006-04-12T12:01:00.000+01:00Vivaldi potatoes (Sainsburys do them) make the bes...Vivaldi potatoes (Sainsburys do them) make the best mash I've ever tasted. I highly recommend them.

The potato goes gluey when put in a blender because the gluten breaks down under such intense pressure. For reasons I can't fathom (probably it's a time-saver, but that's no excuse) lots of restaurants seem to do this. You just get this dense, gluey mash and sits in the bottom of your stomach. Not good.

I really like your blog, I'm going to link to it from mine. I'd be happy if you wanted to do the same.Francescahttp://101things.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17613825.post-1144403475262727822006-04-07T10:51:00.000+01:002006-04-07T10:51:00.000+01:00Oh - you remember that! Dutchy Originals do a very good one; buy lots when it's in the shops, because you can freeze it and use it later. Unfortunately, whenever I've tried this I've run out of the stuff by mid-January.Lizhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13896235681242722952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17613825.post-1144403152067401132006-04-07T10:45:00.000+01:002006-04-07T10:45:00.000+01:00what about the truffle butter?what about the truffle butter?GreatSheElephanthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01184003279713845169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17613825.post-1144350340045932712006-04-06T20:05:00.000+01:002006-04-06T20:05:00.000+01:00WOW!
