And here is a couple of pictures I took while visiting the small community of "Harmony" Population: 18 not including spiders and lizards . Harmony is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the Glass Blowing and Pottery Arts there and such there is a lovely little chapel there.

Here we are in October already! Hoping for rain by tomorrow. An awful lot of dust blowing! I've been busy knitting, sewing and beading but no time for posting it seems. Here are a few pictures of recent items.

We have had a very busy summer and enjoyed a two week vacation along the Pacific Coast. I have been working on a red sweater I started earlier in the year and am on the second sleeve. I also have a child's top ready to sew together and hoping I finish within the month. I am posting a couple of photos from one area of our trip. Hopefully I will have the sweaters ready to post soon.

I finished this top for one of my great granddaughters. This was a Minnowknits pattern, Sugar n Spice. I used Manos del Uruguay Cotton stria.

It is extremely hot here now and difficult to work with yarn but have started another top and hope to finish it this week.

Happy Father's Day!
I haven't knitted for some time now .. tis a time for a change of pace. When the weather is cooler it will be there for me.

The little ones are growing so fast. We had a fun day at the park last week with the girls while brother was enjoying one on one time with Mom and Dad.

I have put knitting aside for now. The weather is getting warmer and other things are calling for my attention. I am leaving several projects on the needles and they will need to be finished in the fall.

This is one of Sport's favorite places to be and we are privileged to visit frequently.

Our tomato plant is looking good! I hope the squirrels stay away.

Well, yesterday we went on an outing up to Tehachipi and stopped on the way to take pictures of the Tehachipi Loop. We were delighted to see the train was on its way also. Had a great day! Today I hope to make some progress on finishing up the pink socks I started on a month ago or longer. I am so glad the Spring weather is here and to see the Lavender is in bloom! Sharing some photos....

New things... Sport is sporting new sun glasses "thanks to Ashe"!

I ordered a paper towel holder from TnT that I love so much! It looks great with my cupboards and takes little room on the counter.

As for knitting I finished one pair of socks in pink and started on another pair. Also working on a scarf I couldn't resist the yarn while visiting in Cambria. The picture doesn't do the colors justice.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and wish all a Happy New Year. We had a blessed Christmas with family being together and our daughter hosting supper at her house the following Saturday when our Son, Daughter in Law & Family arrived via Amtrak.

My Son and Daughter in law made this wonderful wood basket for me and I love it for my knitting needles etc. It would also work wonderful on the desk also for pens etc.

They also made this wood box for DH.

Baked cookies today...GD is having a cookie exchange tomorrow and I think I am ready.
Top layer of cookies are made from Betty Crocker Holiday Sugar Cookie Mix rolled and cut in shape of trees. I microwaved one half cup of can frosting and drizzled over cookies and added sprinkles. Bottom layer is: Nana's Peppermint/White Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingred: 2 ¼ c. flour, 1 tsp. soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 c. butter, ¾ c. sugar, ¾ c. brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 eggs, 1 c. white chocolate chips, 1 c. peppermint chips. Blend four, soda and salt in a small bowl. Mix sugars, butter and vanilla then add one egg at a time mixing until blended. Stir in chocolate and peppermint chips. Bake at 375° for 10 - 12 minutes.

What a nice surprise the other evening, DGD stopped by on her way home from grocery shopping with a treat...she saw the peppermint ice cream and remembered it is one of my special treats at this time of year and sometimes difficult to find.

I decided at this late date to try to make a red sweater for the Christmas Holidays.... hoping to complete it.

I started a vest/sweater if enough yarn. I got this yarn half price and thought it was really pretty but not sure if I like it for a vest but going to see how it works out. It is Mondial Merino Plus.

Sport was wanting to play and do you think he could have put his toy any closer to my yarn? He finally gave up on me and took a nap.

I completed the pumpkin socks for my Secret Sis and put together this Autumn basket.
And did I splurge... I bought a couple packets of my very favorite Fall/Winter treats. It is soooooo good!

Just finished a try at freezer plum jam made with raspberry jello. Will see how it turns out.

DD daughter is having us over for beerocks and corn pudding tonight. Sounds so good.

It seems like I have worked on these socks forever. This is the second pair with the same yarn, same color. I love the pumpkin color.

There is enough chill in the night air that I felt it was time to get out a cherished gift from my Crochet Friends. This afghan arrived at my door one day when I was feeling very blue and down and no words can describe what it did for me and has meant to me.

I had been looking for a recipe for some sort of pumpkin cookies. I usually make pumpkin bread but wanted to try cookies instead. I love this recipe and just had to post about it in case you haven't already tried it. I had been pondering over trying this recipe for a week and I am so glad a gave it a try today. I left some without the glaze to see which my DH likes best. I, of course like the glaze...the more sugar the better for me. And this is the first time I've made anything with fresh cranberrys, I am surprised how great they taste in a cookie. Here is the link to the recipe....

This is a beautiful day ! The sky is clear the weather is perfect. I went to spend time with DH during his lunch then I took the critters to a park for some time alone to soak in all the beauty and to give thought to all the peace & grace God has blessed me with. A very welcome peace away from all the politics and stress our Country is currently in. I had intended to knit a little but was enjoying it all too much to.

Was looking for signs of Fall and sharing a few pictures...

Today I made Beerocks and since the oven was at the right temp when I finished I also made Oatmeal Cookies with white chocolate chips and raisins. I forgot to take a pictue of the beerocks. They turned out quite good but I will make them larger next time. I have not seen beerocks in this area and it amazes me how moving just under a 100 miles south can be so different in such things as fresh produce and certain foods. Also it is hard to find good Hot Dogs, I keep telling my husband he should open up a hot dog stand but he hasn't shown interest yet !
