Well folks if you haven't been to the Rogue fishing in the last week and a half, you certainly havent been having as much fun as we have. With conditions prime , water levels perfect, and temps in the great range of 50f plus , you've miss out on the best window of opportunity for the season , peak run conditions combined with great numbers of fish , spells one thing success!!! After the boys from Augusta played 18 holes up at Bandon Dunes, they came down for a little fishing, same ole stuff , anchovies and blades 3 oz water , and get the fillet knife ready , this is a great fish and it gave plenty of fight , out of the water 3 times , nuff said, give us a call we'll get you hooked up ............. Rogue River Spring Chinook scale's on deck

Some pictures deserve a special place and did we have all the good stuff line up this morning , had a nice 4oz cut in the river, a spinner bait and Susie and Tony, hang on Salmon the fishing kids are here on the Rogue , water temps have fallen this morning to 55.5f just right where we needed them , we got ahead of a nice batch of fish, and that's all it takes, water levels remain low , with no rain and dam work @ Savage Rapids dam, this did not break any spirits this morning , the only thing we couldn't do is catch that Springer larger than Susie's for Tony, what a fun day , after the Sun hit the water is was done and we did see a few fish moving but that's all. Rogue Continues to see a few good Chinooks

Rogue River Spring Chinook fishing has fallen off of late with water conditions dropping into the 3400 cfs marks and temps in the high 50's f , it will make you work that much harder for these super fine Chinook, the drop in water is due to no rain , and also the work being done at Savage Rapids Dam on it's removal at Grant's Pass. March ends with above average amounts of Rogue Spring Salmon

We ended up the month of March with a fair amount of late Winter Steelhead in the Rogue system along with a early shot of Rogue River Spring Chinook. Water conditions were favorable for Springer's with water temps looking toward the 48f in march early in the month. We have a good tide push of fish on a daily basis every day at present , the lower river seems to provide the best of opportunity at present before we get new rains to raise the river, continue to check the flows with 5ft to 6ft being height of choice for the lower river. With late storm's and some good run off we should have good spring fishing on the Rogue , every one of these are worth the effort put out ending with great table fare. Well we have had some high water, now we have low water , but in between it hasn't been to bad , not the ripper bite that we are use to but good none the lease. These fish fell to spin-glo's and plugs. Fresh Kings continue to run in the Lower River of the Rogue, Anchovies are still the best bait and with our resent rains the fish, aren't hanging around for a long time, with weather conditions improving for this week , things are looking good for this whole week, there are 1/2 pound Steelhead up the River, as well as Coho's, for right now the name of the game is "great fall fishing" well I guess we'll see you on the Rogue, we will need a few more good rains to get those Salmon in the short Rivers .............Boss

Silvers are still moving into the Rogue River mouth

Michael & Mark, what a pair to draw too, we chased the Chinooks and Silvers from one end of the Bay to the other, we landed some good fish, from one end of it to the other also. Water and Temps are making some of this Falls fishing conditions some of the best yet so far, and by all indications it should just get better. We are seeing some hatchery Chinooks as well as a fair number of Hatchery Silvers, this is just about as fun as it gets in the Fall. Ted , nice done , you and your Dad had it down pretty good, the bite was fair, we had to return some Silvers back, but all in all pretty good day. Water levels are prime time for the Rogue , and the temps are great also the fish are only holding awhile in the bay, then they are on the move, but the hatchery fish are staying around making it be a great bite of the morning see you soon at the Rogue remember be there when the tides right .

Rogue Bay , is still kicking out nice Kings

Rogue Bay is still kicking out prime Kings in the September waters, the conditions are prime for mid to late September, with river levels and temps being the norm now for this time of year, a good number of fish are moving up the river as is the norm , but the tide bite still continues with Chinook as well as silvers moving daily in the Lower Rogue. Agstar get together on the Coos River

Well it took four boats heavily armed , in pursuit of the Coos Chinook to get these boys from Agstar rolling , what a great group , for two days we switched boats , changed things up , battled some fierce winds , almost got rained on, and we had fog , to so much Sun it felt like Texas, not bad for the Oregon Coast in September. Well all bets off the winner of the derby had a 24 1/2 # Coos River Chinook, good job Russell . We had plenty of fish , but the boats were finding some light bites , and short takes , and some you could not get the Rod out of the rod holder, so it boiled down to 13 guys with 8 fish the first day , and 8 the second for 16 fish, hats off to you guys gentleman all the way what a great organization , and also a wonderful group to fish, we will see these boys again , on another Fishing with the Boss adventure I'm sure, thanks to my boatman Russel McCall, Lynn Hescock and Allen Metcalf, hats off to you and thanks again. Rogue Bay , it blowing but still kicking out the Kings

They are coming in all sizes , from Jacks to Adult size up to 58#, what a whopper, conditions are improving with water temp and also levels , the only thing that's no improving is the wind , 19 days solid hard gale winds up to 55mph , they are improving at this posting , and by the first of the week we should be back on business , clients from Colorado, had a ball, this morning , only landing one out of the three we had some good action, and a little hard luck to , some days its not how many you catch right, the Rogue is also starting to load with Silvers and should continue to get better , we have a lot of good fall Chinook, and Coho fishing ahead, give us a call 1-800-263-4351

Summer Steelhead, are in the Rogue System

Summer Steelhead , are not taking second seat to Fall Chinook hear on the Rogue River, the river levels are almost in perfect conditions, with fresh fish coming in everyday, with levels and temps on there way to September and October levels, things are looking good for the fisherman on the Rogue River. Home from Alaska, and back on the Rogue River, we have Summer Steelhead, and we have Chinooks in the Bay , the Salmon have not started there way up the river in numbers , as of this posting , water conditions are 2800 cfs, and holding with temps at or near 70f, great water for the Steelhead , but not good moving water for Salmon, they are stacking in the bay, with better tides on the way after this little cold front with that darn SW wind, look forward seeing you on the Rogue, the fishing will continue to improve through September, we expect good numbers of Silvers but mid September, see you soon

We are on our way to Alaska, to try our best efforts to catch that 100# plus King Salmon on the Kenai River, we will have to weed through the smaller ones to get to the big ones but thats the way it goes. Rogue River Spring Salmon Still on the move

Rogue Spring Salmon continue on the move , up the Rogue to the spawn areas of the upper Rogue , but not before the Lower River Boys get a chance at them , the weather, well has been a typical Spring, with rain, wind, hail, more wind , and then so nice you have to get the glasses out. The Water conditions are improving with the water levels on the rise, and temps up in the 54f range, it makes for a great bite when the fish are on the move . Tina and Jack took home a great fish, on there 2 day fishing trip, hooking this nice fish on the first day , and a Steelhead on the second day, lots of smiles, and they managed to kick down a few Miller Lights on their vacation adventure to the Rogue River on the Southern Oregon Coast. Rogue River Springers on the move

Get a load of this, Hunter with a little help from Dad Steve Floyd "Pink", again hooked a great Spring Run Rogue River Chinook over 30 pounds , this one top the scale at just 31# , it was blowing pretty hard this morning when the fronts were coming in , we burnt and egg and made a few adjustments , he had eighty yards on so fast , we couldn't get the floats in the water fast enough, but everything came together , and we were off to the races, the smile on this Kids face says it all , Dad was pretty darn proud, as I was , well if your in the market for a nice hatchery Chinook the Rogue doesn't have a ton of them , but the quality is definitely there , see you soon , and good luck to Pink and Hunter , what a tough team on the Rogue ....... 1-800-263-4351

Rogue River Spring Chinook are starting into the Rogue with this series of storms , the water temps have reach a passable level, and that's 50f, so get your good stuff out and get ready for the best eating and best fighting fish of the year, we are expecting an average run for the Rogue River, by not having any ocean openers will really make a difference come the last of April and May for the runs of hatchery fish entering the the Rogue system. The Steelhead fishing has slowed down to a crawl with just a few fish being caught, we are seeing downers in all of the river system's. But the word is now SPRINGER'S, that says it all for this part of the world , we have already booked people as far away as Little Rock, AK and also the Idaho

Mint Bright Fall Chinook

The short rivers of Southern Oregon Coast, are kicking out some of the most healthy Fall fish we seen in years , the meat is so orange they look like Spring fish. Water conditions were prime on Thanksgiving Day , pressure was down and there were enough fish around to keep you in the game , cold starts for a few days with water conditions falling at present we are ready for some more rain. Remember don't get in a hurry on these creeks take your time with the water being a cooler , sometimes it takes awhile to get it right for these big Chinook, the word on the creek is that Salmon is better than Turkey? small plugs with sardine wrap that's the stuff, and put it to-em slow. Its nice to be back after a couple of months off healing up from surgery, things aren't healing up as fast as I would like but we are light years ahead of the game as of this morning, looking forward seeing you all on the rivers catching these nice bright fish, best of luck to Mark and Judy some of my great clients "on what a Turkey Day"

Rogue River Salmon on the bite and on the move

The Rogue River is still kicking out some great Chinook as of late , we have a little wind with the tides and the moon, but thats not stopping the bite , up river conditions have cooled and the fish are on the move , silver salmon are in the bay during the tides and , yesterday Sam Waller caught a 50# plus fish, and there were a few in the 40# plus, this is a great time of year to be on the Southern Oregon Wild Rivers Coast , we have a Ocean opener's Oct 1st , Silvers, Chinooks, and Summer Steelhead, with the water conditions it's looking like the right stuff for our great Fall fishing here at Gold Beach see you soon , and great fishing to you.... 1-800-263-4351
