I realize that sometimes it's hard to tell shades of color through a computer monitor. This post was meant to help you decide which fabrics match with which minky. Of course these are just my personal opinions and you may have other ideas that look great as well. I hope this helps!

It's been a while!

Wow! I haven't posted since August! It took a while but I finally got the blog switched over to the new site. I hope you all love the new site design as much as I do.
You all have been keeping me as busy as ever and I appreciate it so much. I have a ton of beautiful new fabrics ordered. I am patiently awaiting their arrival. Until then, I know the pickings are a little slimmer than usual but if you are ever looking for certain colors, patterns...just email me and we can find something suitable and have it here in about a week.

Tropical storm Fay is expected to affect us here in Orlando beginning overnight tonight. What a coincidence that this is the first day of school for my children. I hope this isn't a reflection of what is to come in the school year. ;)

This MAY affect orders getting filled in a timely fashion. Please know that I am doing everything in my power to ship orders ASAP but Mother Nature's power is much stronger than mine.

We are taking every precaution to stay safe and have plenty of supplies & generators to make it through. We have lived in Orlando for over 20 years and weathered many a storm including the year Charlie & a few others came knocking at our door.

I have some extremely awesome customers! I just have to say thank you. I have been so busy lately. I can hardly keep up. I think you all have been telling your friends. I appreciate that!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much but I just want you to know that I am still here and my lack of blogging doesn't signify my lack of making blankets at all. It's actually the opposite!

I am really enjoying all of the creative ways that everyone is putting their blankets together. It makes my job much more fun & exciting and they look awesome, too! Keep them coming!

Vacation Time

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I will be out of town from May 28th through June 6th. Great Grandma is turning 95, bless her heart. I'll be heading out of state for her birthday party and a much needed vacation.
I have to keep the machines happy too so they will perform at their best. They are hitting the "embroidery spa" for tune ups and upgrades while I am away.
When I get back, the machines and I will be better than new and ready to work for you.
Feel free to order while I am away. As usual, I will be available by email and will be ready to tackle your orders when I return.

It's genius, I tell you! Problem Solved!

I've received a few emails lately that troubled me. Fabrics that were there a few days earlier were sold out when customers were ready to order. Yikes! Our fabrics are purchased in small quantities to make sure that your neighbor doesn't wind up with the same blanket as you. Eww! You wouldn't want that to happen, would you?!

I've been thinking about this and thinking some more. You see, I'm a problem solver, a people pleaser to a fault (well -almost).

You will be excited to know that you can now RESERVE your blanket. If you are visiting today and see a fabric that you love and know that your sister Sue will be delivering sweet niece or nephew in the next month or two you can order a blanket as usual and I will hold the fabrics for you. When Nephew Nicholas or Niece Nycole is born just drop me an email with what you would like embroidered on the blanket. I'll get to work on it straight away!
You get to give the gift that you want (your first choice, numero uno, the best of the best) and I'm a happy camper because I've made you, sister and sweet baby happy as well.

Along with reserving a blankie, our newer fabrics are being purchased in higher quantities so they will stick around just a little longer than usual.

The Secret Is Out! We've Gone For The Gold!

I'm spilling my guts! I have been working extremely hard lately on a big secret. Today is the day that I must let the cat out of the bag.

This weekend BibsandBurpCloths.com , BaaBaaBlankies sister site, gifted lots of A-list celebrities at the Golden Globe Awards 2008 gift suite with baby bibs. Special people require special attention so this bib got lots of it. The gold appliqué star was hand drawn by Lori Boyd of ByLoriDesigns.com making it one of a kind. We sought after the perfect font and found the perfect shiny gold fabric and thread. And decided that "A Star is Born!"

A New Year and New Surprises

I hope you've all had a magical holiday season. New Year's is always nice for me because we can clear out 2007 and move on to a bigger and hopefully brighter time.
BaaBaaBlankies.com has a few great surprises on the way. I'll tell you about a few.

First of all, I will be adding at least 11 new blankie flannel fabrics to the store. Ranging from camo jeeps to dreamy stars. One of them should match nicely with the Zanzibar patterned baby bedding that is ever so popular.

Next, in case you haven't noticed, a new blankie size was added to the collection. The snuggle blankie, soon to be named Incublankie, is perfect for preemies. You can lay this blanket over an incubator in the hospital, hang it over the side of a warming bed or lay it over baby's delicate eyes so the light isn't constantly shining in them. These can be personalized as well so mom and dad will be proud to display that this is their precious baby. It's the perfect size for a security blanket too. Toddlers can bring it anywhere with out tripping all over a bigger blanket. Add ribbon loops or a binky holder for the highest level of security.

The last secret has to be kept a secret for a little while longer. I have big news planned for later in January. Check back often to see what it is.

Christmas Gifts

Oh my! Christmas is right around the corner. I've started my shopping early this year. Have you? Are you still trying to cross a few hard to buy for people off your list? I have 1 word for you.... Aprons! Everyone loves an apron, especially with their name on it. Kids love aprons to play dress up and cook with. Moms and Dads like aprons too. We now have adult aprons for you to personalize. Have an aspiring chef in the house? Or one that thinks they can cook but can't. Ha!
I'll be placing another large apron order soon to get ready for the Christmas rush. I've had a request for plus size aprons so I may add them as well. Have an apron request? New! Diva Aprons & Adorable Designs

A few weeks ago I told you to keep an eye out for something "wild". Well here it is. Our aprons & art smocks can now be embroidered with the name of your choice and the first letter will be appliqued with faux animal fur. These are perfect for the little diva in your life! Help me feel a little better ...

I will be out of town from July 12th-16th to visit my sister in Tennessee. I am very excited to see her and her family but a little worried as I have never left my kids at home with my husband (or should I say my husband with my kids?) in all of my 16 years of motherhood. Crazy, I know! The opportunity hasn't really presented its self until now. Have you ever left your family to take a trip alone? Comment and tell us about it! It might make me feel a little better.

I will also be out of town from July 31st to August 7th. My other sister and I are meeting in Williamsburg, VA with all of our children. Have you been there? I grew up in Virginia Beach and this was a really special trip for us. I absolutely love American history. It's fascinating to me. We plan on visiting Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, Busch Gardens and possibly the water park. All of our children are old enough to remember this for a long time. I hope that they enjoy it as much as I did.

I can take my laptop with me but my embroidery machine won't fit in my suitcase. ;) It will be visiting the service center for a tune-up.

I need to blog more often! I'm sure some of you visiting are wondering where in the heck is she? Is she going to get my order if I place it? Of course I am! :) I'm here. I've been very busy. Not only have the blanket orders been coming in but www.BibsandBurpCloths.com has picked up nicely. Don't worry! Your order is still only 2-3 days to shipping. I am good at keeping up! :)

I have been working on something special lately. I still have a ways to go to get all of the designs posted on www.BaaBaaBlankies.com but there's one already to order for you now. I have been working on TUTUS! So far I have 2 sizes, short & sassy or gracefully medium. I only have solid colors listed but there are more on the way such as the red, white and blue tutu you see in the really aweful picture. ;) I'm working on better pics with my favorite model Chloe. She's a cutie pie!!

I have hired a WONDERFUL web designer to give BaaBaaBlankies.com a face lift. I got a peek at what's in store this morning. It's going to be awesome!

I am also working on making baby blanket purchases more simpler for you. Soon you will be able to see matching suggestions. I know it's not easy choosing matching colors on a computer screen. You asked for it. You're getting it!

I have deleted many products at BaaBaaBlankies recently. This is so I can better focus my attention on baby blankets for you. I have kept a few select products from other work at home moms available for purchase. They are just to darned cute and deserve the added exposure. These products are the fabric wall hangings , waffle weave blankets, bibs and burp cloths and tutu items. Everything else is made specially for you by me. :)

We are offering our bibs and burp cloths all for a flat $12, shipped. They are still embroidered, appliqued and/or personalized. The only difference is the shipping method. Not everyone likes to pay for Priority shipping but you still have that choice.
We are also offering Bibs and Burp Cloths wholesale and drop shipping is available as well. Do you own an e-store or retail outlet that would benefit from our products? Drop me a line and I'll send more info. We are currently working on a sell package for retail stores.
