Elektronic (Datguy Remix) on Quarterlife Records

Riotous beats from down under explode from Aussie producer Pete van Riot, who is dropping his new electro bomb-track Elektronic onto the global scene. This peak-hour hit will put the bounce into any dancefloor with its proper electro bassline sketching scorched patterns across 2 octaves, while a luminous square-wave lead synth stutters and bends its 5th patterns into your skull. A distorted unison pad in the breakdown ups the ante and slams the track into place and into your face. New York producer/remixer Datguy takes a smoother progressive approach to the track, yet muddies is up with plenty of grimy distorted electro bits and buzzy sustained synths - lots of chuggy valleys and noisy peaks throughout this excellent, moody interpretation.

The Ma-Ma-Ma Belle single featuring former Electric Light Orchestra member Parthenon Huxley, released in the UK, debuted at #3 on the Rock/Indie charts at Juno and #10 at Rhapsody and appears on the album Voodoo Science. The album debuted at #2 on Beatsource in the Leftfield genre.

The Big Space remix has also been receiving major support charting in the top 15 at the Release record pool. Here are some reactions from Balance and Release:

Datguy and DJ Merritt have completed a remix of "Free Forever" on Shady Grove Records. This record was done in loving memory of Joan Collins, who showed tremendous courage and strength while fighting cancer for 17 years.

Datguy have a new radio show on Mercury Nation, ( starts July 11th), who recently merged with Eccentric Beats. Thanks to Phil, Kamal and Yao for putting it all together. Already have some great guests lined up.

Bulletproof Productions' next film starts preliminary shooting. Datguy have been asked us to score it.
