But I was just thinking about it so here it is:

$11,051,312,364,183.90 [source]

So far since President Obama's inauguration the national debt has gone up nearly 1/2 of a trillion dollars.

I can't hold this administration directly accountable of this, granted. They have inherited a significant amount of legislation, and spending momentum that cannot be quickly reversed, however I am just concerned that I haven't heard much about fiscal responsibility since the campaign.

In the speeches I have heard recently I am hearing 3 themes, "invest" in healthcare reform, better education, and energy. Spending, spending and more spending.

And I quote:
"We've also made the largest investment in basic research funding in American history, an investment that will spur not only new discoveries in energy, but breakthroughs in medicine, in science and technology"

Is now really the time to be spending our taxpayer money in new and interesting ways?

I'll leave you with one final quote:
"This time -- this time, CEOs won't be able to use taxpayer money to pad their paychecks, or buy fancy drapes, or disappear on a private jet. Those days are over."

The president makes $400,000/year, the white house has very, very nice drapes, and last I checked he is zooming around to all these speeches in a posh 747 which costs tens of thousands of dollars per hour to operate.

By the way, he will make $150,000/year in today's money after he leaves the presidency, for life. ...And I'm sure that's something we can all relate to.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-14734424896905300732009-01-20T08:48:00.003-05:002009-01-20T09:17:45.600-05:00The Dawn of a new Era....You gotta love American optimism. Today is inauguration day for President Barack Obama. It's funny how you have so many people being so optimistic about how things are going to change, and how you have the new administration trying to manage their expectations, rightfully so.

They have created a monster during this campaign, and that monster is masses of Americans who are clinging to hope that President Obama is going to be able to make their lives better. I hope they are right, but expectations are a funny thing, especially when the bar is set as high as it is.

For my part, all other political leanings to the side, I am going to focus on National Debt over the next few years as I mentioned in a previous post.

I don't expect it to turn around immediately, or even within the first year, but if this administration can deliver on the promise of lowering the national debt, I will have a reason to respect their platform.

Now, there are rules. There are a few ways to "artificially" fix the problem. And by that I mean basically 2 things.

1) They can raise taxes
2) They can raid retirement plans (like 401k)

These are not fixing the problem, well at least not from the point of view of someone who actually pays taxes and actually has a 401k.

One reason I think this will be tough is because when I think Democrat, I think "government programs". "Government programs" do not have a reputation of being lean and efficient.

One reason that I think they have a shot at lowering the debt is the gradual withdrawl of our armed forces from the various middle east areas. Having these military units deployed is VERY expensive. I just hope the spending we save on bringing them back is not re-allocated to other government based endeavors.

That being said, if this administration can lower the national debt by making government leaner and more efficient, then I will say "job well done". This will be nearly impossible to quantify, but I'll do my best.

The one measure that is easy to find is the current U.S. National Debt.

Here is the number: $10,643,590,783,459.17 [source]

We'll take another look in 6 months to a year and see how it's going.

FYI, here is a link to President Obama's stance and plan for fiscal responsibility.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-78726693211415872162008-12-06T20:36:00.003-05:002008-12-06T22:03:19.682-05:00ExpectationsHere is our tree this year, the picture below doesn't do it justice. You have to click and look at the large version to get a better feel for what it looks like. It's a little smaller than usual. Maybe symbolic of the current economic situation.

When you have children, at least in my experience with Annelise, you never know just how they are going to react to any situation. Sometimes you are certain they are going to throw a fit, and they end up being sweet as pie. And sometimes you expect that by all conceivable measures, they should be content, but they end up in a foul mood. The same applies to the level of exitement they exhibit.

More to the point, today I finally put up some lights outside our house.

After Annelise woke up from her nap I was so exicted to take her out and see them. I mean, from my perspective this should be a very exciting thing for a 3 year old, lights hanging from our house! So I told her I had a surprise for her. I told her to close her eyes and I carried her out in the street in front of our house. Then I told her to open them...

She looked at the house and said "Wow... Daddy... I love it!... Now take me inside before we get hit by a car."

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-29225655541660952872008-12-01T21:37:00.003-05:002008-12-01T21:52:48.612-05:00Political AccountabilityI think it's pretty common for political candidates to make lots of promises that they cannot keep. Sometimes it's just a matter of them being idealistic, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, idealism and optimism were probably motives behind many of the great movements in America's past. Part of the problem, as I see it, is the inability for the common man, like me, to hold any politician accountable for what they promise.

The raw data may be out there, but at the present time, it's kind of hard to aggregate it all together into a meaningful report. So I've decided to take just one of the major campaign points for this year's presidential campaign and keep track each year of whether or not it was fulfilled.

National Debt.....

As of December 1st, 2008, the national debt is 10.7 trillion dollars (rounded up). Just to let you know what that looks like, here is the actual number: $10,673,524,907,182.21

If you're interested, here is my source.

I don't expect president-elect Obama to be able to get rid of this debt within the first year of his term, or even during his whole term, but if the number is significantly lower at the end of his term, we must give him some credit.

Now there is of course a caveat, there are certain parameters he must work within in order to reduce this debt. I already know he is going to raise taxes on "Big Business" and the upper level of income earners to raise money for the government, I know that, he has said that, no use debating the point. The question in my mind is whether he will actually use this new money stream to reduce the national debt, or whether he will create new government programs to help us Americans with our apparent ineptitude at life.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-90832798084547831412008-11-28T16:15:00.004-05:002008-11-28T17:39:00.209-05:00Black FridayIt's ironic how last night I was just thinking about how ridiculous Black Friday has become. It has turned into kind of a self fulfilling prophesy, really a retailer generated phenomenon like most holidays have become. At some point the accountants realized that their books would magically rise to "the black" on the day after Thanksgiving because so many people kick off their Christmas shopping.

I came to the conclusion that I guess it really isn't hurting anybody, retailers offer huge discounts, consumers get to buy stuff for cheap. Then you see this news of a Wal-Mart worker getting stampeded by 200 people trying to save a few bucks on who knows what. They literally broke the door trying to get in. Unbelievable.

This is truly shameful, I'm sure there are lots of reasons this incident happened, and I'm sure Wal-Mart will ultimately pay the price for this because they have lots of money. It won't be hard to win a legal battle showing that Wal-Mart was negligent in it's pre-opening line forming procedure. I think the reality is that the people who trampled this poor man to death are to blame, but there is no way they can practially be caught and proven guilty of this killing.

I hope those involved feel terrible and at least lose a few night's sleep over this. As for the rest of us, I would really like to see this madness come to an end. I personally don't contribute to Black Friday as I hung out at home in my pajamas all day today, oh, and I took Cooper for a walk. Maybe one good thing that would come out of another Great Depression would be and end to this type of idiocy all over the purchase of the latest gadgets or the high-end trendy fashion garments that one finds in a Wal-Mart.

Instead, be back to killing each other over more basic necessities like food or money, at least that makes sense in some kind of way.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-68693827455352832982008-11-23T19:56:00.003-05:002008-11-23T20:44:47.836-05:00It's Cold...Wow, I am one of the worst bloggers on the internet... nuff said.

It's very cold out, seems a bit colder than the typical October/November time frame. Hopefully we'll get some snow this year.

So how about that election? I'm interested in seeing what comes of it all and how Obama will do as president. The only thing I've been thinking on that front recently is about how ridiculously uninformed our nation is. I'm not bashing Obama here, and those who know me know that I am as non-Liberal as they come. But I think he won for the wrong reasons.

I think it's great that so many people were energized to come out and vote, but the statistics don't lie.

I don't think it is only a democrat issue, I've seen uninformed people on the right just toeing the line as well, and I have just as little respect for their views even though I agree with their conclusion.

I want to blame the media like everybody else does, but I just don't think it's the media's fault. The media is doing what the media does, selling advertising and selling subscriptions. In order to sell these things they have to publish content that will draw people, lots of people. And what are people interested in? Trash.

They don't want to hear about issues that actually matter, they want to hear about wardrobe budgets, illegitimate grandchildren, how many houses does the candidate have?, what does France think about them?, what does his pastor say at the church he attends? It's all ridiculous. I honestly believe that if "The Media" believed that people were interested in the actual issues, being the opportunistic lot they are, they would be all over it. I don't expect to change any of this, but I just wanted to vent my thoughts on this issue in the hopes that I re-enforce and convictions you have about it.

By the way, I've gotten to where I can't stand to listen to Sean Hannity anymore, he is constantly harping on the same kind of rhetoric against Obama. Again, I am no fan of Obama's policies, but Hannity is pandering to what his listeners want to hear, and who can blame him, he is after all doing what?.... selling advertising.

Enough of this, nobody cares what I have to say about it. Thanks for reading.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-31858658118143826002008-05-19T12:43:00.002-05:002008-05-19T13:10:36.374-05:00Brenton Cameron Tabor...... But you can call him Brent. The newest addition to our family was born on Wednesday, May 14th at 2:20PM. He was 7 lbs 13 oz.

Jen was great and she didn't take any pain medication at all! Unbelievable!

He was born on my birthday, what a gift!

It's nice to have a little boy and a girl, now we can experience both aspects of parenting. People are saying this one looks a lot like me. I can't wait to see how his personality is similar and how it is different from Annelise's.

Here he is:

Brent and proud big sister Annelise:

In the car seat getting ready to go home!

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-12753376823955303302007-11-26T16:27:00.000-05:002007-11-26T16:30:15.390-05:00Who's reading? For those of you who still venture to my little coner of the internets, Jen and I are expecting a new TaborTot in mid May of this year!

So, congratulations to us.

I hope it's as cute as Annelise but less opinionated.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-27848352067287202492007-11-19T21:49:00.000-05:002007-11-20T00:15:55.490-05:00VMI vs. Citadel gameJen and I took a nice trip out to Lexington/Staunton/Bridgewater this weekend. The main attraction was the VMI vs. Citadel game at VMI. No need to go into details, but suffice it to say we did not win. It was still a lot of fun. And we had great seats, practically on the 50 yard line.

..And by that I mean the 30 yard line in a row numbered "BBB". By my calculations, that's a mere 54 rows up. It was funny, we were all so winded by the time we had walked up there. We were a little tardy to the game and paid the price I guess. We walked to the stadium about 5 minutes into the game and we were already down by 7, it was a little disheartening.

We still had a great time though, I had planned on meeting 5 of my classmates out there, but we ended up running into at least 10 people we had graduated with. We tailgated out on the parade deck in front of VMI before and after the game.

We thought all the leaves would have fallen already, but it was still beautiful up there. You'll have to take my word for it because I didn't snap any good foliage shots.

We stayed in Staunton Friday and Saturday night. Jen went to college in Staunton at Mary Baldwin College so we thought it would be a good spot between our two destinations of Lexington and Bridgewater (Up near Harrisonburg).

So that night we went and watched Jen's brother Robby fight in his MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fight up in Bridgewater. It was the first of those I had been to. Pretty crazy stuff. He lost his fight because he fought a dude that outweighed him by 30 pounds because his scheduled fight cancelled.

Fun weekend all in all, but I was wore out today for sure.

After being there, I thought I would check YouTube and see if anybody has ever posted video from within VMI during ratline activities. I did find a recent video of when the rats met cadre, aka one of the worst days of their lives. This is basically when things go down hill for a few months after you arrive there in late summer. This pretty much the same as when I was there, minus the women. Truly one of the most anxious feelings I have ever experienced.

Conversely, I was one of the "Cadre" for the next 3 years. If it looks like the Cadre hate the rats, it's because they do.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-42590640390731128792007-11-04T22:14:00.000-05:002007-11-05T09:32:27.136-05:00It's NovemberI sometimes wish I never started blogging to begin with. I really didn't need something else to feel guilty about not doing, I have plenty of those. Clean the garage (every few months this one comes back), fix the gate out back, pull weeds out of the back yard, clean my office closet, the list goes on.

But I do find it a good way to:

a) Brag about Annelise and other things without having to work them into daily conversation.
b) Keep a kind of journal for historical purposes.

So the bragging begins... Annelise is cuter than ever, she was a ladybug for Halloween.

It's really getting fun around holidays with her now because she understands what's going on.
She was a lot of fun at her birthday this year also (she's 2).

So other than that I'm just working, playing some racquetball, and working a little more. I'm looking forward to the holiday season, Thanksgiving is fast approaching. I'm also enjoying the cooler weather, this summer was getting brutal there for a while.

This concludes my generic catch up blog post. Hopefully (for my multitudes of readers) I will have more frequent and pointed updates. But all I can promise you at this point is that I have every intention to do so.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-44127173452427859292007-04-01T23:04:00.000-05:002007-04-01T23:11:56.140-05:00Yearly Post (part 2)I wanted to add one more thing, but I didn't want it to get buried in my previous post.

Of course Annelise is cute as ever. She is doing more and more talking now. Her favorite words are "bye, bye" and "uh-oh". She says uh-oh every time she drops something or knocks something over. The other night she cracked Jen and I up. We were watching "Lost" and Annelise was playing on the floor getting ready for bed. There was this scene where some chick runs out of the woods and collapses. Right after she collapsed and the camera pans around for dramatic effect, Annelise belts out "uh-oh!." We laughed so hard.

Anyway Jen took Annelise and cooper to the lake the other day. While they were there they ran into an aspiring photographer. She took some pretty good pics of Annelise. Her hair is blowing in the wind, and what a cute face. I know I'm biased, but she is a cute kid for sure.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-66148760041903439262007-04-01T22:43:00.000-05:002007-04-01T23:02:32.967-05:00Yearly PostHere it is... my yearly addition to the internets. A bunch of stuff has happened since I last blogged (obviously), among them were Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year, St. Patricks Day. Happy New year everybody!

There have been a few other things going on. One of which is our makeover of the loft. Basically, Jen and I were talking about what a waste it was to have a pretty good sized room upstairs that wasn't really being used. The loft used to have a pool table in it, but since most of my friends are married with kids, it really only got used like twice a year.

So we decided to convert it into the main entertainment area. The first task was to offload the pool table. It has been in the family for something like 25 years, so naturally it went to one of my uncles. So sometime back in January I disassembled it and hauled it up to my uncle Paul's in Salisbury MD.

The next step was to get some furniture. So we went to one of those "Deal of a lifetime, one time sales" at Haynes and picked up a new couch and lounge chair.

Along with my co-worker and buddy Langdon, who was also upgrading his home theater, I bought a 50" plasma television to put up there. Dad helped me do some electrical wiring for sconces to get some ambient theather style lighting in there. It came out well, no pics yet.

Also Jen ran the Shamrock half marathon. She ran a new personal best, very awesome. I whimped out and ran the 8k. I finished in 49 minutes and something.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-69762708867756703402006-11-13T17:19:00.000-05:002006-11-20T22:32:07.257-05:00Blogger UpdatedGoogle has completed absorption of blogger. So now I'm blogging through the new interface. So far it isn't very different. I'm sure there are a bunch of improvements, I'll look forward to finding them if I ever log in to blog again.

I've been out of the blogging scene for a while, not sure why. It's kind of against my nature to communicate my inner thoughts anyway, maybe that has something to do with it. I'll try harder this time.

Annelise is walking now!!! That is one huge thing that has changed. She's just over 13 months old. She has been pushing around this walker toy for a few months now, she can really zoom around the house on that thing. And she took her first steps on Jen's birthday (October 17th 2006). But she didn't really walk more than a step or two until the other night.

Jen and I were sitting in the loft, she had left Annelise playing in her room. We looked up and there she was, rounding the corner of her room and walking down the hallway! For the past few days she has been walking more and more, it's very exciting and very cute to watch.

Not much else has really changed, we cleaned out our garage a few weeks ago, we are very excited about that. We can actually get a car in there, the other side has the lawn mower and the larger baby toys and strollers, we need to find some way to hang that stuff from the wall.

We also put in a patio with brick pavers in the back yard. We hope to get some nice furniture to put back there and do more cooking out.

The shows we are currently into are: "Lost," "Heroes," and "Prison Break." All very good and highly recommended, although Heroes is on 2 episode probation with me, I'm starting to lose interest, hopefully they can turn it around.

Holler if you read this. Who will be first? Langdon?, Chris?, a surprise guest? Let's all find out together...

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1144220456696779482006-04-05T01:51:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:19.979-05:00Lost InterestClearly I have lost interest in blogging. The thought would cross my mind to update about once a week, but then I'd start feeling guilty about it and block it out of my mind. Too much other stuff going on.

I put in some crazy hours with INTER-OP this month, I think it was 116 hours in March. Ouch. I guess my bout with Bells Palsy occurred since my last post as well. That is pretty much cleared up.

I was sick as a dog this last weekend. Man, I haven't been that sick since I can remember. Maybe since back in high school when I was down for like a week. I've been pretty much out of it since Saturday night, it's now Tuesday night. To be honest, in a strange way, I think the down time did me some good. I haven't had much chance recently to take down time. I guess it could even be my body's way of saying "here, take some mandatory down time." Regardless, I feel kind of refreshed, although I'm not 100% over it yet.

I did get a chance to watch the entire 1st season of Battlestar Galactica, wow what a pleasant surprise that turned out to be. I definitely recommend watching, even if you're not a Sci-fi nerd. It is very interesting and well done.

Ok, I'd best get to bed, it's 3:00 am and I can't duck out of work any more.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1139726578124616202006-02-12T01:35:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:19.885-05:00It's about time...It's getting longer and longer between updates. I wonder how long before someone notices that I have posted an entry. Let's do an experiment, first one to post a comment acknowledging that they have read this wins all the prizes.

Annelise is growing so fast! We had a fun night tonight, she was lauging and making all kind of noises. Jen and I couldn't stop laughing. She definitely has her upset moments, but in general she is a happy baby. It's so cool when I hear her stirring from a nap and go over there, then she opens her eyes and give me the biggest smile.

Cooper had his other hip replacement surgery back in January (hence the hair line in the pic), so far so good with recovery. He doesn't understand why we don't take him to the lake anymore, but hopefully he'll be back to normal in a month or so.

Work has returned to a normal state again. That's good news, it was crazy for a while there. I need to start hitting the gym again, it's so easy to get out of the habit when life get's really crazy for a while, but it's so hard to get back in the habit.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1137767138174022542006-01-20T09:19:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:19.793-05:00A long work days(The following was typed by Chris Johnson as we toiled away at getting our application deployed at work on January 20, 2006. We actually ended up being there until 12:30 A.M. A 42 hour work day.)

No, the plural is not a mistake. I've been at work from 0800 hours on Thursday to 2120 hours (right now) on Friday and still going strong. Needless to say, I'm a little sleepyish. My good friend Langdon was with me through the whole thing. What a guy. The hard part is that there's no concrete end in sight. Just silly.

The other thing that I find frustrating is that a good portion of the time I spent was in troubleshooting an app that we have to use but did not write. Needless to say, since I didn't write it, it wasn't very good. But, hopefully, soon all will be done and I can find my bed and re-aquaint myself with it's comforts in short order.

(As you may have noticed, this entry is not in my usual lighthearted style. I'm so tired, I had this typed by proxy)

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1136348323663640112006-01-03T23:17:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:19.704-05:00Recent PicsWe really liked our Christmas tree this year. The first half of the play was mostly Christmas and winter type music, "Frosty the Snowman", "Jingle Bells," etc. We came out early in the second half of the play. Mary and I (Joseph) marched down the isle to the tune of "Silent Night." Then the lights would dim and we would run off stage and get Annelise (baby Jesus) from Jen, who brought her every night and did a good job of trying to make sure she was well fed and sleepy. Then we would stand center stage with her as the shepherds, children, and wise men came to visit, each with an accompanying choir song. We were out there about half an hour total.

Annelise was perfect. She didn't cry a single time. She would move around every once in a while, hopefully making the audience realize we were using a real baby. The music was very loud on the stage, but I think that actually caused her to sleep. It was very pleasant music.

It really did consume almost every night of last week. I had to be there around 6:30 and didn't leave until nearly 9:00. To be honest, I had my concerns about losing all that time in the beginning. But I found myself really enjoying it. Sunday night during the last performance I found myself sad that it was going to be all over.

Many times I find that Christmas sneaks up on me and is gone before I realize what happened, being in this play helped me to take a step back and look at what is important about Christmas. In the end, it was definitely worth it.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1133422601098413912005-12-01T02:07:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:19.353-05:00General UpdateSeveral people have reminded me that I haven't updated my blog in a while. <sarcasm>Thanks.</sarcasm>

I guess I haven't had many blog worthy things going on, just lots and lots of the usual. It seems like I'm the busiest now that I've ever been.

Not that I'm complaining, I have come to the conclusion that it is human nature when you run out of things to do, the tendency is to create problems by blowing small stuff out of proportion.

Annelise is doing well, she got a cold over the Thanksgiving weekend, but she seems to be over that now for the most part. She is getting cuter every day. I can't look at her without smiling. She is spending more time observing the world around her now, it's such a unique thing to watch, I've never experienced anything like it.

I've been playing guitar pretty regularly over the last few weeks. My old band mates and I have been getting together once a week to play, nothing serious, we were just all itching to play again. I've also recently become more interested in learning more of the technical aspects of music. Most of what I know is from song memorization from tablature and knowledge of 2 or 3 positions for chords.

Annelise and I are going to be in our church's Christmas play. I'm going to play Joseph and she is going to be baby Jesus. It's kind of an honor to be asked to do that. It's a major production, usually about 700 to 800 people attend each night for 3 nights. Our part is relatively small though, we come out on stage for a few minutes and basically act as a living manger scene.

Thanksgiving has come and gone, about three weeks of fall left, and Christmas is right around the corner. This is an exiting time of the year, remember to slow down every now an then to enjoy it, and remind me to do the same.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1131501084405119842005-11-08T20:51:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:19.252-05:00BummedI woke up this morning and as I've done thousands of times before, I started the walk over to the bathroom for a shower. For some reason, this morning, on the way, my left foot snagged on the bottom of my flanel pants. When it broke free in mid stride, I ended up kicking the dresser about as hard as I can imagine kicking a dresser, accidentally or otherwise.

All day my middle toe was hurting a little, I just thought it was sore. But when I took my socks off tonight, it appears very bruised. I'm pretty sure it's broken. Normally, this would not be that big of a deal, but I have been running to train for the Turkey Trot. I don't think I'm going to be able to run at all for at least a few days, maybe a week.

Hopefully I'll be able to use the elliptical machine at the YMCA instead. But I haven't tried yet. You never fully appreciate how much your toes do until they are throbbing.

At any rate, I'll have to play the Turkey Trot by ear.

Annelise is doing great. I love the times when she is alert and awake, but not crying. I really look forward to when these times are more frequent and when we can actually interact with her.

Here is a cute pic of her Halloween Costume. The missing left hand is not intended to make the costume scary. Her arm is just pulled into the sleeve.

"The Foos Fighters" (Langdon and I) have done very well against "Pity the Foos" (Jason and Chris) at foosball lately. So much so that we are considering a new rule, or a switch where Langdon plays offense and I play defense in order to level the playing field a bit.

Work has returned to a normal pace now as well, which is nice. We have been working pretty much strait 8 hour days. Also, I have been making a conscious effort to get to bed earlier. Thanks for reading....

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1130722376471550262005-10-30T20:25:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:19.129-05:00Anneliseweb.netI might as well rename the domain. Let's face it, that's all anyone is coming here to read about now anyway.

There are new pics of Annelise on our photo album. You'll have to go to the 2nd page. Again, the pics aren't very action packed. We mostly are just trying to keep her happy. Jen feeds her and all I can do is let her sleep on me.

She is spending more time awake and not crying, which is kind of neat. She just looks around seemingly amazed by everything.

This one is the best comparison between us that you'll get.

Jen and I were talking tonight about how strange that 3 weeks ago tonight, we were in the hospital having her.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1130299710558022902005-10-25T22:50:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:18.980-05:00Pilot LightMy weatherbug is telling me it's 45 degrees tonight. That's the coldest night of the season so far. I went under the gas fireplace and lit our pilot light. I've done it 5 times now in this house, and I think this time it took the longest to do it right. Seems like I would get better at it each time. Oh well. I flipped the switch right after getting it lit and just like that we had fire.

Things have been a little crazy lately. Annelise is doing great. She has gained back to her birthweight now. It's going to be a strange thing to watch her grow up. I know it will happen fast and I only pray that I will have the wisdom to appreciate each stage as it's happening rather than getting wrapped up in the day to day.

Work has been extremely busy. This is a good thing in general, I like having plenty to do. But in this case it has been a little extreme. Hopefully things will cool down for the next few weeks at least. I came home around 9:00 PM on Monday and Tuesday of this week. This is not the best thing to be doing with a new baby. But Jen is doing great with her. I try to do what I can each evening to help out.

Annelise is sleeping better and better it seems. She is already kind of spoiled. She likes sleeping on mommy.

She really dislikes sleeping directly in the bassinet for some reason. We have found a reasonable solution though. We put her in her bouncy chair and put that in the bassinet. She seems satisfied with that for a few precious hours sometimes.

We have also started taking her to the lake with Cooper. She goes to sleep as soon as we start walking her in the stroller and wakes up when we get back. She seems to love the constant moving. The stroller has a canopy that you can completely cover her with, it seems really cozy in there.

I keep getting requests for more and more baby pics. I guess this is validation that we aren't the only ones who think Annelise is cute. I'll post more by this weekend, I promise.

Cameronnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17030285.post-1129771350224007862005-10-19T20:17:00.000-05:002006-11-13T17:18:18.879-05:00More Pics of AnneliseDue to popular demand here are more pics of Annelise.
