A fines del mes de Junio, abrió en el interior del restaurante Chueca, en la calle Alsina al 900 (a unas 12 cuadras del hostel), la primera librería gay de la ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Desde Hostel Colonial, como Gay Friendly Hostel, esperamos contar con mayor información para recomendar este nuevo espacio a todos los integrantes de la comunidad que nos visitan. Por ahora sólo puedo decirles que la mayoría de los libros son de la editorial española Egales.

HOSTEL COLONIAL BUENOS AIRES - VENTANA, UNA NUEVA OBRA DE ARTE EN LA FACHADA DEL EDIFICIO DEL PLATA

Es la tercera intervención, la primera fué "Velocidad" que coincidió con una muestra callejera de F1 a cargo de David Coulthard, luego fué "Siesta" y ahora, "Ventana", es la obra del artista Max Gómez Canle que cubre la fachada del emblemático Edificio del Plata, a escasos metros del Obelisco porteño (a 7 cuadras de Hostel Colonial).

La obra tiene 34 metros de alto y 88 metros de largo y busca emocionar y sorprender a aquellos que transitamos por la Avenida 9 de Julio.

Un paisaje fantástico, combinación de estilos, intentando vincular arte y paisaje urbano. Buenos Aires no es sólo Tango, también tiene una fuerte impronta contemporánea y cosmopolita. Puede verse desde el mirador instalado frente al Obelisco. La próxima intervención será una fotografía.

Has completed the first half of 2009. Influenza H1N1, "Dengue", global economic crisis, a Mrs. President focused on winning the Nobel Prize and not on other trivialities. Argentina, South America. Despite all this, the balance is always positive. It´s a fact that the global tourism is having serious problems, but I think (I've written here several times) that the hostels have been the least affected.
I continue on with my aim to spread the business of Hostel Colonial, but mainly based on the idea that the entire world know Buenos Aires, my city.

Buenos Aires has everything and everything is all you need for this Winter Season in South America. There are a lot of great places to visit in Argentina but most are far away and would require more time. Buenos Aires is the place to land and start to make plans, consider options thinks about where to go, make choices and decisions.
There is a lot of very good suggestions for you on translated local websites, this blog , a real Buenos Aires Blog is one of this, our blog running on #WP is other option in Spanish and our Tumblelog is 95 % Buenos Aires photography, in French the Routard. Lonely Planet, Footprint are options in English, or just in the front desk of the Hostel Colonial that present lots and lots of information which you could get the fixtures for your trip and how to book tickets to different points, for example a day trip close by or you just could also go to Tigre (by boat or by coastal train), the Delta of Tigre is really nice and is about 1 hour on the train to the North. Maybe a little jump on a day trip to Colonia, Uruguay, (maybe even 2-day to Montevideo),
Colonia is a World Heritage Site and well worth half a day to see it. Or maybe even better if you haven't been there, a trip to Iguazú Falls.
Another option is to go to a typical “estancia” for a day or weekend and do some horseback riding there and enjoying a good Argentinean “asado” (charcoal grill cooked meat). There are some good ones in San Antonio de Areco.
Social aspects
The Buenos Aires winter may not be as frigid as in many other countries, but the way the “Porteños” (the citizens of Buenos Aires) complain, one would think they were in the Arctic Circle. This foundation opened in 1995 with a purpose to promote exhibitions of local young artists in the country and abroad.
Federico Klemm is an icons and one of the best painters at the contemporary times, although he also studied dram and opera. He was born in Checoslovaquia nowadays named Czech Republic in 1948 as a very young age immigrate to this country. This blond artist start studying at the age of fourteen being influenced by the work of Toulouse Lautrec, Van Gogh and Picasso completing his career with some local painters whose works marked a way in his tendencies too.

HOSTEL COLONIAL BUENOS AIRES Y EL TURISMO REGIONAL

Desde hace un tiempo y como hace unos días publiqué en Twitter, todo nuestro esfuerzo y el foco de las acciones de Hostel Colonial (desde hace al menos un trimestre) está dirigido al turismo regional, y más aún por estos días, con la llegada inminente del período vacacional de invierno (en estas latitudes).

Con esto no quiero decir que vayamos a descuidar (de hecho la mayoría de los posts de este blog son en inglés) o a prestar menor atención a otras plazas como Europa, Estados Unidos, Australia o México, que siempre han aportado un buen número de viajeros, pero habiendo literalmente desaparecido de Buenos Aires aquellos turistas que provenían de esos destinos (Crisis Económica Mundial + Dengue + Gripe por A-H1N1), decidimos focalizar nuestro esfuerzo hacia el interior de Argentina y a países como Brasil, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia y Ecuador, los grandes movilizadores del volumen turístico que hemos tenido en este primer semestre de 2009.

Parte de este esfuerzo fué la apertura del blog en Wordpress y la gran producción de fotos de Buenos Aires, tanto para este blog como para Flickr y el Tumblelog, aumentando en todo ámbito posible nuestra presencia virtual.

El resultado es muy positivo y como adelantara por el mes de Marzo, aquellos que han podido viajar y antes lo hacían alojándose en hoteles con estrellas, han elegido el hostel o mejor dicho los hostels, como una opción viable y de calidad razonable en función de optimizar costos.

No creo que esta tendencia cambie al menos hasta avanzado el 2010 (si se hacen las cosas bien, los festejos por el Bicentenario de la Nación Argentina aportarán un interesante número de turistas), salvo que pasadas las elecciones legislativas del próximo Domingo 28 de Junio, se efectivice el rumor (cada vez más fuerte) de una nueva devaluación del peso argentino y en muy corto plazo se revierta la tendencia actual, empujada sólo por el beneficio cambiario, algo que a esta altura, ya no tendría que suceder, más allá de la cuasi instantaneidad del beneficio, puesto que como siempre he dicho, nuestra apuesta es de largo plazo.

HOSTEL COLONIAL BUENOS AIRES - TEATRO COLÓN - WAITING FOR YOUR REOPENING

The Teatro Colón (Spanish) (Columbus Theatre) in Buenos Aires, Argentina (five blocks walking from Hostel Colonial), is one of the world's major opera houses. Opened in 1908 after twenty years under construction. The auditorium is horseshoe-shaped, has 2,487 seats (slightly more than, say, the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, England), standing room for 1,000 and a stage which is 20 m wide, 15 m high and 20 m deep[2]. The acoustics are considered one of the best five acoustics in opera in the world.
For many years Argentina was a prosperous country with a booming economy, and the Teatro Colón was visited by the foremost singers and opera companies of the time, who would sometimes go on to other cities including Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The cornerstone of the present Teatro Colón was laid in 1889 under the direction of architect Francesco Tamburini, who designed a theatre in the Italian style on a scale and with amenities which matched those in Europe.
However, delays followed due to financial difficulties, arguments. The building was finally completed in 1908 under the direction of the Belgian architect Julio Dormal who made some changes in the structure and left his mark in the French style of the decoration.
The theatre opened on May 25th. (1908), Patriotic Day in Argentina, with a performance of Verdi's Aida and it quickly became a world-famous operatic venue rivaling La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera in attracting the best opera singers and conductors.

The theatre was closed for refurbishment at the end of October 2006, with plans to reopen in 2010 (Bicentennial Year in Argentina). Contemplating the Teatro Colón is to appreciate the more refined art style in South America.

Ali confluem a Avenida Corrientes e a Avenida Roque Saenz Peña, mais conhecida como Diagonal Norte (um dos poucos traçados oblíquos que quebram o desenho de "tabuleiro de damas" original das ruas de Buenos Aires) e que conduz à Plaza de Mayo, por um lado e, à Plaza Lavalle, pelo outro. Nesta última, visite o Teatro Colón (fechado até 2010), uma das mais bonitas e famosas salas de espectáculos do mundo.
A Plaza del Congreso é outro dos locais emblemáticos da cidade de Buenos Aires. Além da sede do Congreso e do monumento de Los Dos Congresos, percorra a Avenida de Mayo com os seus belos edifícios dos mais variados estilos, que nos recordam cidades europeias como Paris e Madrid.

Visite o Café Tortoni (8 blocos de Hostel Colonial), a mais antiga cafetaria literária de Buenos Aires.
La Recoleta é um bairro conhecido pela sua elegância, pelo Centro Cultural Recoleta, pelas múltiplas lojas de design (Buenos Aires Design Center) e, sobretudo, pelo mais agradável jardim da cidade. Visite o Museu de Arte Moderno Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA), poderá admirar obras da "Colección Constantini" (o principal coleccionista da Argentina).
Enquanto uns desejarão visitar a Igreja del Pilar e o aristocrático Cemitério de La Recoleta (onde repousa Eva Perón), outros quererão ser vistos nas esplanadas do Café La Biela.

É, aqui, que poderá ver os curiosos "passeadores" de cães, um serviço único de Buenos Aires, que facilita imenso a vida aos donos dos referidos animais. A troco de uma remuneração mensal, o seu cão é levado a passear à rua, duas vezes por dia, na companhia de outros da sua espécie, aparentemente, sem grandes conflitos.
Se procura antiguidades genuínas e difíceis de encontrar na Europa, o bairro de San Telmo, onde residem músicos, artistas e artesãos, é o endereço ideal. Especialmente, aos Domingos, quando se realiza a feira semanal de antiguidades na Plaza Dorrego, por entre exibições de tango ao som do "bandoneon".
Para encontrar boas peças de artesanato, recomenda-se uma visita às feiras do Parque Lezama e da Plaza Francia (junto de La Recoleta), igualmente, aos Sábados, Domingos e feriados.

Qualquer passeio pelas ruas de Buenos Aires, não poderá dispensar uma visita ao Caminito do pitoresco bairro de "La Boca", com as suas casas de telhados de zinco pintadas de cores vivas, pela comunidade de imigrantes italianos. A rua é um verdadeiro museu ao ar livre, com estátuas, pinturas murais, artistas e bailarinos de Tango.
A vida nocturna de Buenos Aires gira em torno do Tango (na verdade é o que a maioria dos turistas procure) e da figura incontornável de Carlos Gardel.

Entre as "tanguerías" mais famosas, onde se pode jantar e assistir a um inesquecível espectáculo de dançarinos profissionais, destaque para o Almacén Suipacha, Esquina Carlos Gardel, Señor Tango ou La Ventana. Para quiser somente dançar, o La Viruta e mais de 100 milongas na cidade de Buenos Aires.

Too many streets to walk. Too many things to see and admire. Buenos Aires, a city of contrasts, a city of extremes. The good, the bad. The beautiful, the ugly. Trends, cool things and bizarre things. The cheap and the expensive. People, a day in their lives. The opulence and the misery. Feelings, love, madness, joy, anger, the best and the worst of beings who wander through a big city.
Buenos Aires as I can tell. Buenos Aires depicted in hundreds of images. The vision goes beyond the doors of Hostel Colonial. It also goes beyond my ability to surprise.
A different approach, my approach. Buenos Aires is my whim, you know. I take pictures with my cameras and my iPhone. A complex act of love and urban hunting.

I´m a businessman, I know, but I have not lost the animal instinct. I love the game of being an urban animal and Buenos Aires is my jungle. I offer images that capture everyday and also I'm looking for on the Internet.

HOSTEL COLONIAL - TRAVELING IN BUENOS AIRES IN THE TOURIST BUS FELT COOL

Scott and Denise knows enough Spanish to ask coins for the bus, They came from the United States a week ago, They say:- “Traveling in Buenos Aires in this tourist bus felt cool”.
It's Wednesday and there are still some places on the top floor of the bus. The tour has 12 stops from Florida St., north to the May Square, in corner with Roque Sáenz Peña Ave.(only 5 blocks walking from Hostel Colonial) to Lavalle Square, through La Boca, Recoleta and Italy Square, Scott and Denise are for the first time in Buenos Aires and for something more the u$s 7 they can stroll through the most colorful sides of the city.

HOSTEL COLONIAL BUENOS AIRES - UNA NOTA EN EL DIARIO LA NACIÓN, FLASHPACKERS, HELLS ANGELS Y PORQUÉ SOMOS DISTINTOS

Ayer Domingo, en el Suplemento Turismo de La Nación y también en la edición online fué publicada esta nota cuyo contenido no terminé de entender y menos aún de digerir. El autor, Daniel Flores, luego de, al menos a mi entender, una poco feliz estadía en un hostel de Córdoba (no publica nombre) escribe en parte esto:

"Porque ocurre algo curiosamente contradictorio: por un lado, el típico cliente de un hostel es el menos cómodo, más experimentado, explorador, desestructurado, de ese que gusta llamarse viajero en oposición al tradicional (e indeseable) turista. Pero, por otra parte, tiende también a permanecer lo mejor de sus estadas en... ¡el hostel! Sitio que, como se dijo, respeta un protocolo de prestaciones, decoración y ambiente en general que lo vuelve previsible, no importa dónde quede; con las salvedades de siempre, claro.
Más allá de eventuales motivaciones económicas, el animal de hostel acostumbra dormir, cocinar y comer, jugar al metegol, chatear y, sobre todo, socializar día y noche, sin traspasar excesivamente las puertas de su ocasional morada ni empaparse más de la cuenta de color local.
Al fin y al cabo, todo hostel es una isla. O un territorio neutral, como una embajada, que funciona con su propia lógica y que es un viaje en sí. Al submundo hostel. "

En fin, aclaremos un poco y salgamos del arquetípico cliché de esta nota: viajero experimentado, explorador, desestructurado, nada más alejado y sobre todo en Argentina, donde este sistema de alojamiento está en etapa de lactancia aún y sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que los "indeseables turistas" (esos que mantienen en funcionamiento el negocio) que se alojan en un hostel, en su mayoría lo hacen por primera vez y vienen con valijas en lugar de mochilas (horror!!!).

Es complejo, sobre todo para los que eligen Buenos Aires, desarrollar su espíritu explorador, con un buen mapa y ganas, es muy simple desentrañar el entramado de una gran urbe.

Se socializa y mucho, es cierto, pero por mi experiencia (he recorrido, afortunadamente más de 50 países y triplicado la cantidad de ciudades, alojándome en hostels con confortables habitaciones para 60 personas, fué así en Alemania, justamente donde se creó el sistema de hostelling y en hoteles de 4 y 5 estrellas) y les puedo asegurar que durante el día hay más gente en los hoteles (si son resorts de playa, ni hablar) que en un hostel, con lo cual son alojamientos totalmente previsibles y no está mal que lo sean, para sorpresas, un viaje iniciático a Disney o al hotel de hielo en Finlandia estarían mejor.

Un hostel es una isla, sí claro, al igual que un restaurant (creo que administrar 4 establecimientos de este tipo me autoriza a escribirlo) y supongo que también un diario, una boutique, una radio, un cabaret y hasta un hotel, no? Eso es lo que permite construir la identidad de cada lugar.

Animal de hostel en el submundo hostel: Si hay algo que no existe es la tipificación en aquellos que eligen un hostel en este tiempo, heterodoxia total, sin ir más lejos durante este fin de semana en Hostel Colonial, tuvimos alojados a un grupo de chicas brasileras que vinieron a Buenos Aires por compras, en su mayoría de artículos de alta gama, una pareja de uruguayos que no tenían dinero para pagar un hotel, un francés y 3 españolas, (escasean los europeos, por la crisis y porque no es temporada de viajes) y un numeroso grupo de flashpackers (gente que supera los 40 ó 50 años y que utiliza hostels con prestaciones superiores, como ser habitaciones con baño privado y TV), pertenecientes al Hells Angels Bohemia MC, señores completamente alejados de aquella imagen de desmadre que inmortalizaron como seguridad privada de los Rolling Stones en el recital de 1969 en el autódromo de Altamont (pueden verlo en la película "Gimme Shelter"), caos en el que apuñalaron a un hombre de nombre Meredith Hunter y que las cámaras registraron. Nada que ver con esa historia. Grupos diversos que se integran, en un ámbito ameno, sin la marginalidad implícita en un submundo.

En fin, si alguna vez hay algún periodista con ganas de escribir algo enriquecedor para un hostel o para aquellos que decidan contratar los servicios de uno, o para aquellos que ya tienen o piensan explotar un negocio de estas características, les cuento una historia distinta, una estrategia, en tiempo real, sin manual, puede que les resulte muy interesante.

A fines de 2005 Hostel Colonial abrió su primer blog cuyo fin no era convertirse en un collage de la vida en el hostel, sino mas bien en una poderosa herramienta de comunicación y por qué no de comercialización cuyo eje temático no sólo se sustentara en la propuesta del hostel, también haría lo propio para difundir a la ciudad de Buenos Aires como un gran destino turístico, utilizando todos los recursos que fuese posible, además de una fuerte presencia en redes sociales.
El blog de Hostel Colonial, este blog, ya pasados los 3 años de trabajo, es la materialización de esa idea original, a la que se han sumado el blog en Clarín y el blog en Wordpress (hostelblog(dot)com(dot)ar), como para no dejar espacio en la Web 2.0 sin explorar.

Algunos hitos en la historia del blog y también de Hostel Colonial:

En 2007 se instrumentó una campaña de marketing que consistió en la creación de un blog cuyo objetivo era obtener votos en un blog contest, (para lo cual se instrumentó una campaña en Twitter (cuando Twitter aún no tenía el poder de red actual): Blogger´s Choice Awards , fué así que se originó ese personaje llamado @YoanaconYe y el resultado, más que satisfactorio, ya que obtuvimos el # 1 en la categoría Best Travel Blog, lo mismo sucedió en 2008 y en el certamen 2009 estamos aquí.

Actualmente ese blog de humor ha tomado vida y público propios, al punto que tiene sus seguidores en Twitter y en su Tumblelog.

Destacados blogs citaron nuestro trabajo e invitaron a escribir en ellos y nos dieron un espacio en el mundo del turismo virtual o Travel 2.0, aumentando sin haberlo planeado el tráfico en la relegada web oficial.

A principios de 2008 se creó una revista apócrifa (como esos comerciales que se realizan para obtener un premio Clío) cuyo fin fue generar interés y tráfico a través de los más de 2500 contactos en redes sociales y fué un suceso.
Fué también por esa época, que el blog fué incluido en el Top 100 de la T-LIST, una lista de blogs relacionados al turismo y cabe destacar que es a la fecha el único blog de un hostel en la misma.

En 2009, fuimos finalistas (#3) en los Lonely Planet Travel Bloggers Awards.

El esfuerzo y trabajo es mucho, dadas las características de nuestro emprendimiento, cada proyecto es una inversión en tiempo e ideas, intentando superar la media del sistema.
Lograr un espacio tan destacado, considerando que se abren 25.000 o más blogs por día en el mundo, tener un ámbito virtual respetado y sobre todo generar interés en un blog de nicho (la temática central es la ciudad de Buenos Aires y temas relacionados a los backpackers) es un verdadero éxito para compartir en Internet y en el mundo real, cada vez que alguien toca timbre y traspasa la puerta de Hostel Colonial.

El viernes pasado, en una presentación de productos y servicios relacionados a la hospitalidad y a la gastronomía en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, tuve la suerte de reencontrarme, una vez más, con un poeta y escritor porteño, hijo de uno de los hombres que mejor supo retratar con su prosa esta maravillosa ciudad.
El encuentro no fue planeado, en realidad mi presencia estaba más ligada a los restaurantes que al hostel, pero el hombre, conocedor del trabajo que realizo a diario en Internet para difundir la actividad que desarrolla el albergue y todo lo que tiene para ofrecer Buenos Aires, a través de este blog, del blog en WP y en el Tumblelog y la intensa actividad que desarrollo en distintas redes sociales, palabras más, palabras menos me dijo lo siguiente: "Lentamente, con imágenes o palabras, te vas convirtiendo en un gran contador de la cotidianeidad porteña..... y Buenos Aires siempre premia".

HOSTEL COLONIAL BUENOS AIRES - LE QUARTIER DU SAN NICOLÁS

San Nicolás, le quartier de l´Hostel Colonial, est l'un de 48 quartiers dans lesquel se trouve divisé la ville de Buenos aires, limité par les Avenue Rivadavia, Avenue Córdoba, Avenue Callao, Avenue de la Rábida Norte et Avenue Eduardo Madero.

L'histoire de ce quartier remonte par le 1733, l'année dans laquelle la chapelle a été fondée par Don Domingo de Acasusso dans les actuels coins des Avenues Carlos Pellegrini y Avenida Corrientes dans cela des chapelles de San Nicolás.

Le drapeau national a été hissé pour la première fois dans de Buenos Aires le 23 août 1812. La même paroisse a disparu quand s'étaient gonflés l'avenue Corrientes et dans le même lieu s'est levé l'obélisque qui commémore la deuxième fondation de la ville et qui est à son même fois le symbole le plus représentatif de la ville de Buenos Aires et qui porte dans les uns de ses visages une légende qui rappelle ce fait.

Aujourd'hui cette église de San Nicolás de Bari se trouve dans l'avenue Santa Fé 1364. le quartier par sa situation est l'un des plus antiques de Buenos Aires et dans son intérieur nous pouvons trouver plusieurs des places i des édifices tels que la place Lavalle connu comme le creux de Zamudio dans le raison d'une quinta voisine tout de suite le lieu a été destiné des exercices militaires, le Parc d'Artillerie où aujourd'hui se lève le palais des Tribunaux qui date de 1910.

Ce quartier très connu est une des plus passés est connu comme le centre pour les habitant de Buenos Aires. Le jour du quartier de San Nicolás est le 23 août de chaque année une des les grands personnages qui nommait toujours le quartier et qui il marchait toujours par ses rues centrales c'était l'acteur rappelé

importantes de la ville au coin de Avenue Córdoba et rue Florida se trouve la Galerie Pacifico l'une des promenades de achats plus importants de la ville puisque dans son intérieur, elles se trouvent, les meilleures marques de vêtements, de chaussures et de vêtement en général passer et visité quotidiennement par les milliers de touristes qui parcourent San Nicolás dans toute son étendue. de nombreux édifices avec de diverses architectures anciennes émergent dans ce quartier comme le coin de l'Avenue Roque Sáenz Peña, l'Avenue Corrientes très concourue par ses théâtres et librairies. des restaurants, des cafés, des bars et les meilleurs complexes où pourra profiter des oeuvres nationales et internationales certains parlent de son paru à Broadway dans New- York puisque tout ce que l'un peut chercher trouve là . unes de les plus commerciales et emblématiques de l'Argentine.
L'Avenue 9 de Julio est l'une d'elles plus large du monde puisque elle mesure 140 mètres et que comprend 25 pâté de maisons au nord et au sud de l'Obélisque et son nom se doit à la date de l'indépendance de la patrie de la couronne espagnole San Nicolas offre sans doute au public en général des lieux les plus variés d'épanchement et de connaissance en général d'une histoire récente Argentine le quartier est passé quotidiennement par les milliers de touristes nationaux et internationaux qui trouvent semblé architectonique avec les bâtiment de Madrid ou de Paris.

The Government House, the “Pink House”, located only 6 blocks walking from Hostel Colonial, where executive branch set as a daily work place despite president house resides in Olivos neighborhood in the Province of Buenos Aires.
Designed by the architect Carl Kihlberg who also designed the opposite post office, use to be the “Viceroys” house during the “Viceroyalty of Río de la Plata” in time of the Spanish colonization. constructions were end and complete in 1868.
Today know as state house, faces the Plaza de Mayo Square, primitive scenery from where in 1580 Buenos Aires was founded by Juan de Garay.
Why pink? Well, the president Domingo Faustino Sarmiento command to paint the government house in pink with the purpose to reconcile the country red and white political parties mixing their colors. Another curious as original to prevent effects of humidity so it was painted with bloods cow.
Has a balcony that served as a podium for most Argentine presidents and a number of other historical figures.
Eva Perón died inside this palace in July 26, 1952.
Nowadays behind is located the museum founded in the 90´ during the controversial Carlos Menem presidential period which required some excavations.

A short story for those who love architecture. I slept 2 weeks in Hostel Colonial located at the main center with the rest of my partners. Once at Saturday afternoon, French people being teach by the receptionist about drinking "mate" together with the friendly hostel atmosphere.

I start searching in my Lonely Planet guidebook for quite a peculiar building to go seen.

If you visit Buenos Aires this is a common for everyone so I went by myself to Lezama Park in the areas of the old San Telmo.

And there I found it was like a huge big ice cream with 4 domes brilliantly decorated, I was admired by such contrast that has nothing to do with the rest. It was standing at the middle of normal grey old towers arise in blue lights colors and like one you only could find in Russia. A beautiful creation named Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. A temple that feed the slavic faith in Argentina.
I came back for the next Sunday service I felt I was in another world this was a real European East scene and for me a cultural shock.
This building was located in 315 Brasil Ave., only 10 minutes trip in bus from the Hostel Colonial one of the best located hostels in town, You get everywhere you want easily.
The church was inaugurated in 1904, the original project was carried out by architect Michail Preobrazensky (Holly Synod of Russia) and adapted by architect Alejandro Christophersen. The temple was built under the muscovite style from XVII century. On the facade, there is a venetian-mosaic- figure of the Holly Trinity made in St. Petersburg.
Personal conclusion is that going to the East of Europe is still one of my goals for this year and this maybe is a glimpse of what is coming.

Corrientes Avenue, one of the most representative streets of Buenos Aires. Avenue of bookstores, cafes, theaters and pizzerias. Born in Puerto Madero (2 blocks walking from Hostel Colonial) and ends at Chacarita.
