Have you even considered the fact that the new design does in fact match their existing layout in their magazine?? Look at the magazine... I see black and red as their main color palette (this is based on the current design and not the new layout since I haven't seen the new layout).

The fact that Portfolio is using a color palette similar to Fortune, wouldn't you think that Portfolio took it upon themselves to mimic a style that Fortune has made a norm in their history as a magazine?
