Winter Getaways!

Tis the season for a Winter Wonderland and some great skiing, snowshoeing or maybe even a race. Our xc-ski trails will open this Monday Dec. 22. We also wanted to put on our Calender of Events: Jan, 3rd/10th/17th Xc-Ski workshop Beginner to just getting more aquainted with your equipment.
Jan. 25th Ski for Warmth Ski the trails for a donation , Refreshments after.
Feb. 14th Moonlight Ski Ski by moonlight , a Great time, Refreshments after.
Feb. 28th The Great Sno-Bear Biathlon Sat. 28th (Adults) March 1st. (Kids)
March 8th Shoe & Shoot Blackpowder target shooting on snowshoes.

Season of 2008

Thank you all for visiting our Inn. We've really enjoyed all our new friends we've made this season, and as fall is right out our door, the colars are starting to change. If you haven't already heard, we've changed our website to inform you that we are a Silent Sport resort. We care deeply about what's happening to our enviroment and want to do our best to make sure that our future generations can enjoy our wild Upper Michigan as we do every day! So if you like to walk get out and enjoy our beautiful fall colars with a walk in the woods, and cherish all we have in our country. Were looking forward to a good cross-country ski season.

Spring / Summer of 2008

Our Spring was a long awaiting, axcious for our Star to have her calf. As June finally came and almost went , she gave us a Beautiful black angus calf a girl, we named her silvia. All is well and growing like a weed. Also returning are our Black Bears ,it's a treat to watch them a night, many new quest really like viewing them. In July our Facility we will be inspected to be a Green Facility, we try to use all natural products for cleaning and recycle as much as we can. We also use recycled paper for our office practices, and try to use a reuseable towel program. We also try to use local organic or our own produce for the inn's quests. As well as we grow our own Beef products. We hope everyone has a safe and healthy summer season!

Let it Snow! Winter is still here in the UP of Michigan, Lots of things happening this month, So mark your calenders! March 16 2008 Moonlight xc-ski or snowshoe ,Glide through the forest by moonlight, starts at 6:30pm refreshments after. March 24 Ski for Warmth donations go to help with heating bills. March 2 The Great Sno Bear Biathlon, ski and shoot 22cal. rifles. Sponored by Iron Co. 4-H Sharp Shooters, Men's ,Womens,Juniors, Kids classes Prizes for all, lots of Fun for the Whole family, Lunch provided by 4-H club.

unforgetable stay

For three years ,my girlfriend,Natasha and I visited bed and breakfasts around Chicago, our home base and this year Natasha proposed that we venture a little further north to upper peninsula of michigan. I was skeptical, thinking we could get the same surroundings within an hour or two of Chicago. Well, when we drove down the pine flanked road leading to The Listening Inn, I knew I was in for something out of my usual world and indeed, as Natasha and I discovered in three days there, we were. The Listening Inn lodge ,the surrounding property.the owners, Carol & Leslie and their awsome dog,Buddy, made our stay the best stay in any bed and breakfasts we've stayed at in the past three years. It certainly helped that Leslie even fixed my broken headlight that I suffered at some point between Chicago and Crystal Falls. We can't say enough. If your thinking about pulling the trigger and visiting The Listening Inn, Just do it! You will be happy you did""

Happy Holidays to you and yours! Tis the season for some great early season sking, we've a lot of skiers on the trails already and reports are Good! Our Tidd Tech grooming system is the only way to go. We've groomed a 14k Classical trail only. Trails are over rolling terrian with 2 Beginner Loops to jump off. Fresh snow is in the forecast for the weekend. Let it SNOW!!!!!!

Happy Holiday's to Everyone! Well mother nature hit us early this year, we've got 8'' of good snow and our XC-Ski trails are going to open this wed. Dec.5 2007 We'll have a Free ski day on Sunday so come out and enjoy our trails, warm up after with Hot Chocolate and cookies. Snowshoeing is also available! Rentals are available. Fall is here!

We'd like to thank everyone that came and visited The Listening Inn this year. Fall is here ,the colars are beautiful, and soon it will be Bird season and then Deer season. I know the guys are getting ready, there seems to be a good supply of birds this season, could be cause of our new plantings. I know the deer seem to like the new hay fields. For you that did'nt know we do have Hunting Pkgs. for the week. This allows you to hunt on our private land. The guy's have had very good success in the last few years and aways manage to see a few nice bucksthat getaway. We do have a 5pt. antler restriction for our property, so that makes it nice to see some nice animals. We wish the best of luck to all our hunters! Also Les will be getting his Black Bear back from last years hunt, he's having a full mount done. A nice addition for the Lodge!

Summer in The Up of Michigan

Summer has been very busy here at the Listening Inn, we've had 6 small weddings, we wish the best to all the Bride and Grooms. We've also had a large variety of visitors from all over the state and quite a few from out of state also. We've enjoyed them all! Looking forward to a nice fall. that's my favorate time of year! The fall colors in the Upper Pennisula are Great, in Sept. hope to see some of our quests return to see them, a walk on our trails is a good way to enjoy that autum day. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Well we have our spring Easter storm going on, we have about 6'' here but Marquette has 27'' , what a storm, Our birds are eating like crazy ,they as well are having a hard time in this storm were filling our feeders twice a day.
