Upcoming: Gamers for Giving

It looks like about 12 of us from the club will be heading to Eastern Michigan University for the "Gamers for Giving" event! It's 3-days of straight gaming. The $25 entry fee goes towards Autism research, education, and awareness. We'll be sure to take pictures and let everyone know how it goes.

Pretty decent turn out at the last LAN. Alright, let's just say its better than normal. (10 people!? Holy crap!)

Melchoir showed up and was pleasant as ever. Kam even made an appearance!

New guy Josh and his crew showed up. Cool guys all around. Will hopefully bring more of their buddies.

Was a good time. I'm sure things will run more smoothly next LAN.

Heya. LANs are still happening every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. We've just been too lazy to update the website.

03/03/07 - NO LAN

Looks like the Science Olympiad is happening this coming weekend. As a result, our normal room will be used by the university. We had tried to find a replacement room via Student Life, but they were unresponsive.

So, this will be the 1st LAN in a long time that has been canceled. Consider it a nice break and talk to your friends and family again. :P

Pirates, Vikings and Knights! Oh my!

Great LAN yesterday. Our buddy Grinch showed up after a long hiatus.

The surprise hit of the day was a Half-life 2 mod, "Pirates, Vikings & Knights". By far the most fun had was the "king of the hill" map where each team tried to hold a tower the longest. Suicide exploding keg pirates were crazy at clearing out the tower.

FYI: It's a beta version. In the finished product, each team will have several classes. If it only gets better, then this is a mod we'll be playing alot.

12/16/06 LAN - C&C:Generals

Fun event. We kicked it old school by playing some Command & Conquer: Generals. The longest lasting game was "interesting" to say the least. Tons of Rocket Jeeps and Angry Mobs were a force to be reckoned early in the game, until some major tank building and Apache production was done by the opposing side.

Nothing like replaying an older game. Only drawback was the grapic lag pauses we experienced with games containing 4 or more players.

RTSs are definitely holding strong at the events now, with some FPSs thrown in too.
