Unlock your car door with your mobile phone

what do you do if you locked your keys inside your car.

i will assume that there is a spare remote key at home and there is some one there, your wife for example, if this is the case then all you have to do is:

1- call your wife for example and ask her to hit the Unlock button on the remote key while she is talking to you on the mobile phone.

2- on the other side you will be holding your mobile phone near the car, and try to be close to the sensor that communicates with the remote key.

3- The door will unlock.

GSM secret codes

These codes are common to any GSM network.
Try them on your own risk, some may not work.
*#06# to get the IEMI of your handset, Keep that number in safe place, you may need it if your mobile was stolen or lost.
*#61# to check your redirection status.
##002# to cancel all redirections.
*43# to activate call waiting, to deactivate #43#.
**43# to enable conference calls. You can make up to 7 calls at once.

If your phone doesn't have incoming and outgoing call barring, you can try this, For outgoing call barring dial *33*barcode*# and pres OK. To deactivate it dial #33#barcode*#.

If you need to block SMS reception (if you are spammed by someone for example) use this code: *35*xxxx*16# where xxxx is your Call Barring code (default is 0000).
To remove this barring type: #35*xxxx# .

If you want to hide/show your phone number when calling, put one of these codes below before the number that you are going to call.(*#30# / *#31# or *31# / #31# ).

*0# or *nm# on the beginning of a txt message gives you detailed delivery report on some networks. But turn off reports in message settings before.

**042*pin2 old*newpin2*newpin2* if your SIM card PIN is blocked.

What if your GSM mobile phone was stolen or lost

All handsets now have security features that most of us don't make use of them or don't even know about them, these security features are very important in case your mobile was stolen or lost.

Now lets start with the most popular security feature, the PIN code (Personal Identification Number).

What is PIN code ?

each SIM card has a PIN code that is provided by your mobile network, it is used to lock the SIM card, so if you enable it you will need to enter the PIN code each time you turn your mobile on and you will need it if you put your SIM into another handset.

each mobile network provide a default PIN number for example Vodafone default PIN code is 0000 and Virgin is 7890, so if you want to enable PIN code protection to your SIM card it is a good idea to change that default number.

Again : remember that PIN code only protect your SIM card not the handset itself.

after you enable PIN protection, every time you switch your handset on you will be asked to enter your PIN code and if you enter a wrong PIN code three times in a row your SIM card will be blocked and you will not be able to make calls untill you get a PUK.

what is PUK ?

a Pin Unlock code is a number that can get it from your service provider/mobile network if you mistype or misremember your PIN code. just call your service provider and they will give it to you and don't try to guess it please because your SIM may be disabled forever.

Phone Security Code!

That locks the handset as opposed to PIN code, Some phones will accept incoming calls while this lock is enabled but many others will require the code to entered before answering, the Default code varies according to the handset make and model.

IMEI....

International Mobile Equipment Identity is a unique 15-17 digits code used to identify a handset.

this number is used when your mobile is stolen, you can call your Service Provider and give them the IMEI number of your mobile and they will block the stolen mobile from accessing the network, so that it will be useless, regardless of whether the SIM is changed.

How to get the IMEI ?

it is usually printed under the battery or you can dial *#06# from your mobile and the IMEI will appear on the screan, write it down and keep it in a safe place, you may need it.

Now, as you can see, there are many features that help you secure your mobile phone from unauthorized access.

PIN code will secure your SIM card and all important data on it and will prevent some one from making calls from your SIM credit.

IMEI make a mobile phone useless for anyone except his owner.
