"I want Emila’s cute handmade dolly because this dolly had bring me down to my childhood memory lane. "

It is simply because she remind me of my sweet handmade dolly I made of using 'kain sarong' when I was a child back then. I learnt about this origami using cloth from my dearest aunt that was baby-sit me. Back then, I always quarrel with my little brother, so as our (me and my brother) punishment...my mother had to asked her sister to baby-sit me for few days at her home. So, my brother and I are separated for few days. While staying with my aunt, she taught me lot of things about being a girl. I was only 7 years old. One of the skills is making handmade dolly using cloth. That handmade dolly became my baby doll for few days. I even burned out her kitchen while playing 'masak-masak'. Hahahaha....such a wonderful memory lane that Emila's handmade dolly made me feel right now. Thanks to my aunt too.

Hello Sabahan..Good Morning...hahaha..guess what?..I am here in KK for the 1st time. I have been working with this company and yet this is the 1st time for me to travel in KK for work purposes. The journey from KL to KK wasnt that pleasant because our flight was delayed for an hour. Our flight was supposed to depart from KLIA at 9.20 am and reach in KKIA at 11.55 am. We were in KK to attend Eid Celebration organised by our branch office in Sabah. The event start at 12 pm. But because of the 1 hour delayed, we reached there when the ceremony was about to close up. To make the a journey even worst, we, the passenger was already inside the cabin when suddenly after 10 minutes we boarding in, the pilot make the announcement about the delay. We were just sit in at our place, read newspaper while the steward and stewardess were serving some passenger with drinks. The atmosphere was getting uncomfortable as the is the air condition is not fully utilized yet. After half an hour, half of the passenger getting off from the cabin while some were trying to comfort their small one. Then around 10.45 am, the pilot finally announced that the plane is ready to take off. I was relieve to hear that because I was so hungry and need something to comfort my stomach. Well, that's about the journey to KK.

While in KK, after we check in the hotel.Me and two other boss make plan to famous market which is only 5-10 minutes walk from our hotel. The two boss was really shops while me just wandering around and do my window shopping. I only purchased bracelets for my mother, my sister and her daughter. And of course, Kuih Cincin for my colleagues. Another things that I found out at the market is a group of man at the side of the market. There sitting there with their traditional sewing machine altering some T-shirt, jeans, jacket and pants. This is so interesting as I never see this before at anywhere except in KK. So I took pictures of them in action. They are friendly indeed as they allowed their pictures to be taken by a stranger like me...hehehe

At night, we were invited to have our dinner at Ocean Seafood Restaurant which is situated next to our hotel. Again, I found something interesting served on the table. Its escargot. The taste was superb. I had 10 piece of it.

Stories 6:

I was among Malaysian that feel the tremor from the earthquake last Thursday. I was still working on my desk at my 10th floor office somewhere in Petaling Jaya. I obviously panicking and quickly send out shout out at my FB regarding to the tremors. Then only we got the news that Sumatra Island was hit by 7.3 on the Richter scale. Gosh....Thanks to God for giving me another chance to live my life to the fullest..Here I come...with new life adventure...

My colleagues and I was featured in local newspaper, Utusan Malaysia and Harian Metro for recent Open House by our company. We was there as the usherette for the guests. The event was held in Dewan Perdana Felda, Keramat last Thursday.

Last Friday night was one of our Gossip Girls's group member tying knots with her love one. The whole group was there witnessing her 'akad nikah' at Bukit Jelutong. Then we attend her reception at Wisma PKPS at Shah Alam. I rate the wedding with 10/10 scale.

Lots of things happen around me for the whole month of Ramadhan and few days during the celebration of Eid ul-Fitri.

Story 1:

Again, I have been stopped by Police Patrol Car during my way back home from LCCT. I was there sending my friend, Michele that was on her way holidaying in Langkawi. I was so nervous because I do aware that my driving license at that point of time will be expire very soon. Nervously I hand in my driving license and my ID for them to do any necessary checking as claimed by them. Meanwhile I had this short conversation with the other officer;

Me: May I know what is going on here?

Officer 1: Well, basically we need to have at least 20 record on cars for each day so when we saw your "Sexy Girl on Board" behind your car, we decided to put yours in the list for today.

Me: What the *&^%$*^@#? ( in more manner way for sure). Owh..I definitely will put that thing down and change it with "Pregnant Mother on Board" after this.

Officer 1: (LOL)...Anyway, you driving license will due this monday..

Me: I know..I do aware of that. Thanks for the reminder...

Story 2:

I had Iftar session with one of my lecturer, Dr. Hamisah and with few friend at Bangi. We really had great time together with all the cit cat for the night. Photo taking session definitely in our list. Will put it up here soon.

Another Iftar session that were open for bloggers was held at Chillis, Mid Valley courtesy from NotesByMarvic. More story on this at Roshidi.

Udey Ismail later on the weekend held another Iftar with bloggers at QBistro, Bandar Tasik Permaisuri. I was there for sure...hahaha

Story 3:

I stayed at home during the 1st day of Eid ul-Fitri as my whole body in pain due to the ice skating accident a day before. The pain cause me sleepless at night but however it doesnt stop me from quick cleaning at home...weird right...hahaha..thats me, always do something opposite from the other.

Story 4:

I had a quick shopping at Poh Kong two weeks ago. I made a purchases less then 30 minute and that definitely for the first time in my life. Maybe because I have already made up my mind on deciding which one I want to buy. I bought a nice gold pendant for myself. I bought it in advance using my extra money that I got for my beading work. Last year I used the money to pay my ticket flight going back home during Eid ul-fitri.

Story 5:

NotesByMarvic and Na5wa.com organised Gathering for Eid ul-Fitri last sunday, 27th September 2009 at My News Cafe, One Utama. Almost 20 of us (bloggers and family member) attend the gathering. Meanwhile Nurleeta and I surprised Lotfi (owner of Na5wa.com) with a birthday cake from Baskin Robbin. The gathering was success and we definitely will organised more activities after this. This gathering was Lotfi's last session meet up with fellow bloggers in KL before he fly back to Saudi Arabia. Will post up few picture soon.

I did the beads on their Eid's new wear. Already delivered it last week and I hope they are happy with it. Now, I still have one more to go which is due by next week for a wedding. Its belong to the mother of the bride. Then, there will be two more coming soon around next week. While mine..hmmm..I need to find the time to sew beads on mine as I have few wedding receptions to attend and I definitely want to look best..hahaha...for the camera.. :)

Skating at Sunway Pyramid

I went out for skating at Sunway Pyramid today with my two other friends, Jai and Bibi. That was my first time I skate and here is what I brought back home.

I fell few times on my knees and again fell really hard along with my head which now I'm not really enjoyed the side effects. But nevertheless, I made friends with few that are really good in skating. Ash, who play ice hockey for Wildcatz ( I hope I get the right name here), Uncle KC (Ash told me that Uncle KC is a legendary ice hockey player..but does he looks familiar thou), Jimmy and his friends all the way from Sibu, Sarawak (they are school teachers that are here for the holiday), Nisha (Ash's cousin) and last but not least is Devan, cute and adorable 11 years old boy who helps us who taking care good of us on the ice. Thanks guys for the helps.. :)

I definitely will come again soon and practice more..so that I can skate smoothly and will not fell again. Arghhh...I need a full body massage. :p For sure, I cant wear any short skirt for now until my knee back to normal again

I am thinking of having next Raya Gathering for blogger at Sunway Pyramid..hmmm...what do u guys think? Can we have it on the 27th Sept?...

My Encounter with Traffic Police*

For the first time of my life today, I was stopped by traffic police when I was on my way driving back home from HUKM (I had a follow up treatment with my doctor). I was actually on the phone when the officer saw me and asked me to stop at the side of the road. I was of course a bit panicked but then I admit it is my fault anyway. So, here is friendly conversation between me and the policemen.

Inspector Sahab (not his real name): Do you know that you are not supposed to use any mobile phone when you were driving?

Me: I know but I couldn’t help myself but to answer the call. It was a call from my boss. (It is not actually..hehehe)

Inspector Sahab: Then your boss can pay for the summon for you then.

Me: Well, I don’t think so as it is my fault anyway.

Inspector Sahab: Can I have you driving license please?

Me: Ok. Hold on for a while (me was ready with my driving license and IC and pass it to him)

Inspector Sahab: Can I have your driving license with the one that had your picture on it.

Me: Sorry sir. I didn’t bring that one along but you can verify my name with my IC.

Inspector Sahab: Then how am I supposed to know whether this license is for motorcycle or car?

Me: I only have license for car and not motorcycle.

Inspector Sahab: Why don’t you use hands free or loudspeaker on your phone? Can I see you mobile phone please?

Me: My mobile phone doesn’t have that features as it is just a basic mobile phone (while hand in my phone to him)

Inspector Sahab: Did you make call or you answer a phone call? (While he checking out my mobile phone)

Me: I just got a call from my boss.

Inspector Sahab: Why you did not park your car at the side of the road if you need to answer the call?

Me: How am I going to park my car to the side of the road if I was in the middle of the heavy traffic? I was from the hospital for my follow up treatment.

Inspector Sahab: Are you having that H1N1?

Me: No. of course not. I just need to answer the call because it is from my boss. He has been trying to get me on the line since I was with the doctor (showing a HUKM plastic bag that containing my medicines)

Inspector Sahab: Where are you working?

Me: I am working with ****. Our HQ is in Selangor and today is public holiday for Selangor but not our branch in Kuching as today they are working and they are the one that tried to call me.

Inspector Sahab: I see. So you are Sarawakian right. Maria Victoria. What should I call you since you have two names here? How come you have two names? Where were you from? What language do you converse at home? Any other language you know beside English?

Me: (What the *&^% kind of questions) Yes, I am. You can call me by either one. Ask my mom. She knows how to answer your questions. I’m from Kuching. I use English and a bit of my dialects.

Inspector Sahab: How long have you been working in here? Where are you staying? With who? So you know you way around here very well.

Me: For three years already. I’m staying in Desa Pandan with my brother. Yes I am.

Inspector Sahab: Owh..With your brother? What is he doing?

Me: He is a PTD (Pegawai Tadbir Diplomatik)

Inspector Sahab: A diplomat? Where is his office?

Me: He works with KPDNKK in Putrajaya. How much is the summon going to cause me then? This is my first time ever being issue with summon ticket. I only been to police station when people hit my car before.

Inspector Sahab: Owh really? Okay Maria. Do you know that we are having this Ops Sikap. We are having this for two weeks before and two weeks after the festive. This summon will cause you RM300 and during this Ops Sikap, you can’t get the discount like any other day.

Me: Okay.

Inspector Sahab: Okay. Now I decided not to issue you this summons but what can you give to me?

Me: Well sir, I can’t give you cash money or anything because I don’t bribe people. If you want to issue me the summons, it is up to you. But what I can offer you is to pray for your well-being.

Inspector Sahab: I know it is up to me whether I want to issue the ticket or not but what can you give to me?

Me: Again Sir, I can’t give you anything. What do you want from me?

Inspector Sahab: I can’t ask anything from you but it is you who can decide what to give to me. Can I have you number? Would you give it to me?

Me: Sorry Sir. I can’t do that. It is not appropriate for me to give out my number to any stranger right.

Inspector Sahab: Yup. You are right there. So, I am not getting any number from you then. How old are you? 26? Married or still single?

Me: Yes. I can’t give it out. 27 and not married (I was already not in the mood but had to maintain my sweet and friendly look)

Inspector Sahab: So how are you getting to know people if you don’t give out your number?

Me: I don’t but they will give theirs to me.

Inspector Sahab: Okay Maria. I am not going to issue the ticket to you but if I see you again using your mobile while driving, I won’t be hesitate to issue you the summon ticket.

Me: Thanks a lot Sir; I’ll definitely won’t do that again. If it is not from my boss, I wouldn’t answer the call anyway.

Then after the long conversation, this Indian police letting go of me. Then I realize that he was flirting with me. Gosh. Policemen can be very desperate. Hahaha …but it is just another experience for me..So here is my advice if you are being stopped by any traffic police:

1)Do maintain your sweet and friendly look (doesn’t matter whether you are single, married lady or gentlemen)

2)Do admit your wrong doing.

3)Be friendly and answer their questions with sincerity.

4)If you need to create a story, make sure all the story jives and make sense.

5)Don’t forget to smile and be polite.

6)Say thanks to them if they letting you go or issuing you the ticket.

7)Don’t ever have the thought to bribe them. It won’t do you any good but more trouble.

I should have take picture of him as a memorable gesture for my blog.Hahaha….but then he is not good looking like Hithrik Roshan anyway…LOL.

Lot of things happen within a week. In a full list;

1. Frequently had sushi for dinner... :p
2. Extraordinary busy at work.... (somehow I like it so much)
3. Have been doing some shopping in KL for myself and for home... :p
4. Took pictures whenever I see things/people/scenery
5. Lose weight (2kg) within two weeks of fasting :D
6. We got bonus for this coming Eid Mubarak celebration :D
7. Had Iftar for Ex-EDP at The Apartment, The Curve
8. Had the thought of moving back to Kuching (still considering)
9. Had the thought of going out of Malaysia (hmmm...still looking for the opportunity)
10. ....

and the list go on and on without me realizing that time goes by and it is already early September. Means that we are already in the 3rd quarter of 2009 and I have 6 months to go to add another 1 year to my age...hmmm..there are so many things to do and to achieve before I reach the big 30..

A friend told me to put some limit to myself. He advice me not to force myself to hard to achieve my target. I do agreed but I still think that I can get better result if I work hard and do it in smart way...hahaha thanks friend..You know me very well...I can be very stubborn all the time.. :D Well, we only live once in our lifetime so I just want to get the best out of my life.

I got this flowers during my last convocation and now it dry out on the table. I don't want to throw it out yet because the bouquets is so meaningful to me. For the record, so far i only received bouquet of flowers during my convocations. Some of you might be surprise but that the reality. But somehow I like it that way. So my next bouquet will be during my next convocation... :)

I am so depressing as this is the longest weekend and my best girlfriends is in Kuching. I miss them so much. I just wish that I can fly back to Kuching and be with them just for the weekend. After our last graduation back in 2005, it is difficult for us to get together like what we use to be during our campus day. We even been housemate for two years. I still remember during our first year in colleage, we always hang around by the lake after our respective group discussion. Then, there will be our midnight movie. We would simply watch horror movie in dark then we would scream out aloud. We stick together when there was 'scary moment' during that particular night...owh..that was really scary ...I bet they will laugh if they read this...

Michele, Shirley, Debie, Pearlycia, Jocie, Aluyah, Antoinette...I miss you guys so much...I guess I deserved to be alone during the weekend because I choose to work and stay in KL. I promise that I will be back for good very soon....I hope so....hahahaha

Last night, I had an idea of creating my own CD label. I had so many pictures in my archive. It is about time for me to keep it all in one CD. Most of the motif is more to flowery design. I definitely will designing more as this doing this is so much fun. At least my night time is fully occupied with lots of fruitful creative idea. Maybe I can designing illustration on fabric, bags, cards and more that I can think of.

Confront or Not to Confront*

What would you do when you find out that someone is talking behind your back which later would tarnish your image?

Would you confront with that person or not?

What would happen if that person still don't want to admit and keep creating different stories and more lies?

What would you do if that person admit it but again still creating different stories and more lies?

Do you think we should have this kind of person among our circle of friends?

Do you think we should give that person piece of mind?

The question is should we confront or not confront with the person. In Malaysian cultural, it is not our practice to have the confrontation as we believe that what comes around will comes around or Life is a Circle. We tend to care more for people's pride as we carefully fabricating our words into a proper sentences in any conversation so that it wont hurts people's feeling (Face Management Theory). But when some people do the opposite things like saying bad thing behind us, we cant do anything. It is because if we confront with that person, it would effect the relationships that we had with the person. The effect can be negative as well as positive depending with how far that person can perceives confrontation.

Now, I would like to ask your opinion whether it is good to practice confrontation for better understanding of the situation. Give me your sincere opinion as a Malaysian.

2nd day of Ramadhan*

Captured her picture last Friday during lunch hour at McDonald, The Curve.

Today is the second day of Ramadhan and its my third year of fasting as a non muslim. My first year of fasting was so horrible as I would throw up every single food that I took during my sahur. My 1st day on my 1st year of fasting is something that I would always remember. My brother woke me up for sahur as he told me that most of the food outlet closed during Ramadhan. So I ate and then went back to my bed. In the morning, I woke up and throw up. Maybe because of my digestion. In the afternoon, I was so hungry but I didnt take my lunch because I promise with my brother that I would be fasting and have dinner with them that day. So, I went back home at 4.30 pm, wait for my bus which was totally late, then the traffic was quite bad and I end up at LRT Putra Station at Keramat around 7pm. I still need to wait for another bus to reach home. The thing is that I didnt know that the bus driver would only get back on the road after their break their fast. I was still new in KL, I didnt know what time do people in KL break their fast, I didn't leave my seat to get some drink over the road just because I was afraid that I might miss the bus. So there I was sit still till its already 7.30 pm then the bus started to go back on the road. I was so damn hungry and I reached home at 8.30 pm with a terrible headache. The next day I started to be smart. I had some sandwiches and drink with me because I knew I will reach home pretty late. So there's go my 1st year of fasting.

My second year was quite okay as I had prepare myself by fasting a week earlier so that I can get myself use to it. Proudly I can say that I was able to fast for the whole month of Ramadhan without fail. Now, its my third year of fasting and so far the days are okay for me. Start my day with dates and a glass of water and break my fast like anyone else except that alone as my brother and his family has been moving out since last year. What I wish from Allah for this Ramadhan is a good health for myself and people surround me. Nothing else than that and of course self-cleansing (for me)..hahahaha..can it be count in?... :)

In the month of Ramadhan, I do beading on Raya outfit for some of my colleagues. Tomorrow there will be another one coming in and I definitely will be one of the busy bee..

Two love bird. Took this as my so called assignment of the day.

Our equipment. Mine is only compact camera but his is dslr camera. Well, there is no boundaries in photography. You can even use camera phone when necessary.

My partner in crime. He actually taught me about taking pictures

Some of you might be wondering, some might not but for sure you must be realized that some of my pictures has been getting better than before. Well, I learn and still in the process of learning as the learning process itself will never end. I did took course of photography during my 1st degree but didn't actually practice it. But now, I started photography as this can be very interesting hobby . Simple and usual object can be captured with different perspectives as the pictures itself can tell thousand of stories to the viewer. It deliver emotions and give life to the picture. I definitely will take more pictures and upgrade my skills in photography. Soon, I will own dslr camera...hahaha..its in my list thou for such a long time already. It will be love of my life as much I love someone... :p

But thanks to dear friend that willing to teach me and gives comments on my pictures. And of course few other bloggers that are really good in photography as well, thanks for your love comments guys.

Lastly, I would like to wish to all muslim have a meaningful fasting month (Ramadhan).
