It is within driving distance for 1/3 of the country so no wonder it’s attracting so much tourism. People travel to Pigeon Forge at all times of the year and one of the most popular questions is, “What will the weather be like?”. Nobody wants to be unprepared for the weather.

If you’ll be visiting between December and February then you’ll be coming during winter weather. Whenever you hear the word “winter” most people tend to think of heavy jackets, sweaters and scarves. However, sometimes the temperature can be in the lower 70’s. Don’t let that get you down if you’re wanting winter weather though. The mountains do have snow on the tops sometimes and you could even walk out your front door and see snow on the ground. Weather in Pigeon Forge can get tricky. If you come during those months be sure you pack a heavy jacket but also leave some room in that suitcase for blouses that aren’t so heavy as well.
Springtime is a popular time for visiting. People want a Spring Break and many are starting to take their trip to the mountains as opposed to the beaches. When you hear the word “spring” don’t automatically assume you can get by with the same clothing that would work for a beach trip. The weather is all over the place between the spring months of March, April and May. Days can be warm and nights could get cool. April showers do bring May flowers so some days are rainier than others. Snow has even been known to fall in the month of March as well. Daytime temperatures can range from the mid-80’s and nights could go down as low as low-30’s. We suggest bringing a light jacket on your trip as well as jeans or pants in case you experience a cooler day.

June, July and August are considered the summer months. As you can imagine these months will be the warmest months for your travels. It is hot and humid during the months and temperature ranges from the 90’s down to the 50’s. More outdoor activities can be taken advantage of during the summer because the weather isn’t too extreme. Lighter clothes are suggested and if you get cold easily then a light jacket for the nighttime could be a good thing to bring. Swimming pools are open and outdoor rocking chairs are more enjoyable at this time.
Fall months are considered to be September, October and November. September starts getting cooler at night but a light jacket will do you fine. Temperatures do start decreasing in October with the end of October starting to show signs of “Old Man Winter” coming to Pigeon Forge. Long sleeves are suggested at this time. Don’t be shocked if you visit in November and get a glimpse of snow. The colder temperatures for this month can make snow happen. The weather is still comfortable for shorts at the beginning of fall but by the time November rolls around you’ll be grabbing for your jacket.

This article is a good reference for temperature and weather conditions for the different seasons. A more accurate website is weather.com. They have more up to date weather and is a reliable source. Don’t forget to book your Pigeon Forge cabin rental during the season that seems more appealing to you and your travel companion(s).

Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07683520881010465450noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1569614477748762032.post-60887249804666560742009-02-25T13:08:00.000-08:002009-02-25T13:10:12.856-08:00AT&T cell phone service has been extended in Pigeon Forge, TN

Ever tried to use your AT&T cell phone while riding around the mountains in Pigeon Forge? Then I would suggest visiting “Zorb in the Smoky Mountains” It is an activity that everyone will enjoy. Zorb originated from New Zealand and has just made it’s first appearance in North America in the Smoky Mountains. You may be wondering what exactly a “zorb” is? Zorb is a massive inflatable plastic ball measuring approximately 11 feet in diameter and weighs around 200 pounds. Up to three people may fight into a Zorb at once. It allows you to experience being weightless as you tumble down lanes. Don’t worry! you will be safe in the zorb. The air trapped inside the plastic ball protect you.

There are two different ways that you can experience the Zorb while in Pigeon Forge, TN. You can either ride while strapped into a harness or you can ride freely. The first ride that is offered is the “Zydro ride”. As you tumble downhill you and up to three friends can ride the Zorb. However, there is a catch!! You will share the bubble with a bucket of water. The Zorb becomes almost like a slip n slide creating a crazier ride. The “Zorbit ride”, is a waterless ride. During the “zorbit ride“ you and up to three friends will be harnessed in and there is no water as you tumble head over feet downhill. Zorbing is an activity that you will enjoying as you and your friends or family tumble over hundred of feet downhill.

So as you plan your vacation to a Pigeon Forge cabin. Don’t’ forget to include Zorbing in your activities.

Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07683520881010465450noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1569614477748762032.post-85169879735339628612009-01-26T10:46:00.000-08:002009-01-26T11:12:16.111-08:0010 Ways to Save Money in Pigeon Forge

Everyone loves to take a relaxing vacation but sometimes money can be a problem. Most tourist visit the area to ski or just to enjoy the scenery of a magical winter wonderland. There are also tons of exciting things going on in the area during the winter months which brings thousands of tourist in each month. Winterfest is a huge festival that the two cities put on annually. Everywhere you turn the are hundreds of strands of lights gleaming in the night starting in November. The weather is a very hard thing to predict in any place, but it is extremely unpredictable in the mountains. If your concerned about driving in the mountains during the winter months be sure to check the weather forecast before heading out. The city salts the main roads through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg during any winter precipitation. However, the city trucks are not able to get to some of the winding back roads. Icing during the winter months is a huge problem. If your coming to stay the weekend and have rented a cabin most rental companies highly suggest having a four-wheel drive vehicle. Some of the driveways and roads leading up to cabins are not paved and very steep so chains might be required. Something you might want to check on before renting a cabin would be trip insurance. Most travel insurance companies will cover weather conditions. The charge of trip insurance is just a small percentage of your reservation and will guarantee your money back. If you are planning to be in the area during the winter time; trip insurance is highly recommended.

Adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07683520881010465450noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1569614477748762032.post-63060414251902938302008-12-08T08:06:00.000-08:002008-12-08T08:09:17.964-08:00A Day in the Smokies

If you are coming to the Smokey Mountains and only have one day to spend in the area maybe this article will give you a couple of ideas on how to make your one day in the area count!
