The camp will be capped at 20 participants. You'll be staying in bunk-style cabins (think summer camp!). The cabins are rustic, but Camp Wokonda has very nice new shower/restroom facilities.<br /><br />2 1/2 days of group workouts to jump-start your tri-season. Accomodations will be made for a variety of paces. The camp will be a good mix of hard training sessions and easy technique-based workouts. (See <a href="http://www.triathletefactory.com/2008/01/camp-schedule.html">schedule</a> for more details).<br /><br />Seminars and lectures between workouts.<br /><br />Total Immersion© style swim clinic (note: instructors are not certified by Total Immersion)<br /><br />Video tape swim stroke analysis.<br /><br />Swim sessions will be in the new <a href="http://www.pearcecc.com/index.html">Pearce Community Center Pool </a>in Chillicothe:<br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PIwkdpFLqPU/R5dB59HZLUI/AAAAAAAAANs/3TMln_CHyKk/s1600-h/info_pool.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5158664362090114370" style="" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_PIwkdpFLqPU/R5dB59HZLUI/AAAAAAAAANs/3TMln_CHyKk/s200/info_pool.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />Opportunity to train on the IHSA state meet XC course at Detweiller Park.<br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PIwkdpFLqPU/R6NBLdHZLjI/AAAAAAAAAP0/-DPMmLlO3fc/s1600-h/astatestart.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5162041262946725426" style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PIwkdpFLqPU/R6NBLdHZLjI/AAAAAAAAAP0/-DPMmLlO3fc/s320/astatestart.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Nutrition for the camp will be provided by <a href="http://www.e-caps.com/">Hammer Nutrition</a>!!!<br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PIwkdpFLqPU/R8yy0Wgb5ZI/AAAAAAAAAQk/KJcqh_g4-zI/s1600-h/Hammerlogo.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5173706684406424978" style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left; width: 160px; height: 122px;" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PIwkdpFLqPU/R8yy0Wgb5ZI/AAAAAAAAAQk/KJcqh_g4-zI/s200/Hammerlogo.jpg" width="200" border="0" height="123" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Bike fit consultations (tentative)<br /><br />Licensed massage therapist available between workouts<br /><br /><br /><span style="font-size:180%;"><strong>Why?</strong></span><br /><br />First off, because we wanted to offer Midwest triathletes a spring training camp that didn't require purchasing a plane ticket to get to. Second, Chris and Chris are both working stiffs with kids and we understand the economic crunch that we're currently facing and we want to provide an inexpensive but jam-packed camp which you'll get more bang for your buck.<br /><br /><br /><strong><span style="font-size:180%;">How Much is this gonna cost me?<br /></span></strong><br />The entire camp -lodging and meals included- is only $250. Our lodging isn't five-star, but it helps keep the costs down. Please look around and compare, many weekend Tri camps charge twice this amount and DON'T include lodging.<br /><br /><span style="font-size:180%;"><strong></strong></span><br /><span style="font-size:180%;"><strong>What do I need to Bring?</strong></span><br /><br />Bike, helmet, shoes, bike clothing, water bottles<br />Running shoes and clothing<br />Rain gear for biking and running<br />Swim gear<br />Pillow & Sleeping Bag<br />Bike stationary trainer (if you have one)<br />Toiletries<br />Couple of Towels<br />Flashlight<br /><br />*Note: Alcohol is not allowed at Camp Wokonda. This rule will be enforced- let's respect the camp rules.<br /><br />**You will also need transportion for you and your bike to and from some of the workouts- grouping up is encouraged!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/1558846087570009103-204802736587430859?l=www.triathletefactory.com'/></div>Sweethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17262826842960906605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1558846087570009103.post-71072001737389307792008-01-21T09:25:00.020-06:002009-04-20T14:22:47.364-05:00Camp Schedule<span style="color:#ff0000;"><span style="font-size:180%;">This year's schedule. (or go home and sleep?)<br /><br />A: We'd prefer that everyone stay at camp to promote a team-like atmosphere, but understand if people that live close want to sleep at home. In any case, we didn't schedule a whole lot of time for sleeping anyway so do you really want to cut into that more?!<br /><br /><br />Q: What if I don't have a bike trainer?<br /><br />A: Just let us know and we'll find you one!<br /><br /><br /><br />Q: Is this camp only for Ironman triathletes?<br /><br />A: This camp is for pretty much anyone that has ever finished a triathlon. If you are brand new to the sport, contact us first. Are you guys nuts?<br /><br />A: Hey, we can't all afford to fly to Cancun to get in some spring training. If it rains we will ride trainers inside.
