I have begun my Second Semester of MBA Classes, I am taking one on Contemporary management that i'm really enjoying. I'm only about 1 week into the class, but i'm already feeling like it will be very helpful in my current roll at my office.

I'm super excited for these types of classes!

Shortly After the i-phone was released, rumors of a new, better 'g-phone' from google began circling.

Google put those rumors to bed with what i think is an incredible collaboration of industry giants. This 'open handset alliance' has started with the mission to create an open platform to allow development from any source that could feasibly be compatible with any phone.

This is one of the reason's i have always loathed Apple -- their proprietary nature in almost everything we do. Google has shown us what is possible when all sources of input are considered and i think this will be one more endevor where the big G succeeds.

I just recieved the email... it's official-- i'm headed into a few years of work at wayne state :-)

Congratulations! You have been admitted to the Master of Business
Administration program at Wayne State University for the
Fall semester, 2007. You will receive your MBA Plan of Work in a few days

I'm sure theres just about no one who remembers my high school years that would have expected this ;-)

I also want to throw a special THANKS to my wonderful wife, who is signing up for a less than helpful husband for the next few years of homework and studying...

Just thought i'd hang my hat out there as one burned by sunrocket. The VOIP Company has closed it's doors as of this week.

After Reading lots of different things, it looks like teleblend and packet8 are going to be taking over sunrocket's business. As of today, it seems like i am able to get back into my Sunrocket account management page and setup forwarding on my phone. I have also started the ball rolling on using teleblend, as they are letting sunrocket customers in for 12.95 a month. It looks like teleblend is a startup division of Unified communication corp. While i don't know if i will be sticking with them for the long haul-- i think this is my best chance at retaining my phone numbers for now.

So I know my posting has been sparce, but i wanted to take some time to say thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday, the internet definetly makes it easier to stay in touch!

I have been swamped everywhere i go-- work is busy, i'm trying to squeeze in some studying where i can (GMAT) and the list of things to take care of at home seems to grow, even when i am crossing things off my list.

We had an opportunity to take the kids to a carnival with Keely and Brendan a while ago and recently downloaded the pictures off of the camera and this one made me laugh--

We snapped this picture and then removed Kayla before the ride started. She later wanted to try again-- we watched her force a smile for about two spins, and then another two spins with a look of sheer terror--by the fifth spin she was balling uncontrolably-- the ride promptly stopped and she got off -- maybe next time she'll do a little better

I may be a glutton for punishment, and the ink may not yet be dry on my diploma -- but i just signed up for the GMAT, so i am headed into an MBA program somewhere . . . Probably will be wayne state as they have an online MBA but am keeping all my options open.

Granholm: "what would YOU do if you were in my position?"

Granholm spent time discussing viable options for Michigan's budget crisis in a town hall meeting last night. She's got a couple more of these meetings on the docket-- but i don't see them producing any results. Last night's televised meeting appeared to be little more than a PR move on her part. She played sympathetic to each audience member's concern, but i did not hear a viable direction for moving this economy forward.

Much of the discussion concerned the budget crisis in Michigan-- but only a few lines of conversation surrounded the root cause of the budget crisis. (the economy).

IMO, Granholm should be spending lots of time working with larger corporations to bring new industry to michigan. We need to find reasons for the Comerica's to stay here and reasons for other industries to setup shop here.

Once the unemployment rate is back down, there will be more money in the economy as a whole-- which will lead us in the right direction for the 'budget crisis'.

Granholm's current plan is to increase taxes on the citizens of michigan, many who are under employed (if not unemployed).

Something tells me we may have another 4 years of this before it starts to get better---

Random Thoughts

So we got new cell phones at work. I am now sporting a tiny little moto Q from sprint. So far I'm very satisfied with the little guy. I only have two small complaints.. First, battery life is terrible-- which i guess is a trade off for the small size. Second, the signal seems to be slightly less than my other plain sprint pcs phone (samsung a840).

I've also been trying to post to the blog from the q, as i've got the unlimited data plan-- but i haven't been successful yet.

The family is doing well, Matt and Kayla are getting over being very sick (sinus infections), Matt has also been using his nebulizer as needed--

A Post a Month

I've about reached one post a month-- work has been crazy busy (i know, i sound like a broken record) We are cutting over the last phase of a major project on monday and tuesday, after which i'm hoping to be able to breathe. If things continue at this pace, i'm hoping to get the authorization to hire in some extra help-- but we'll have to wait and see. The economy has hit everyone, and i'm just thankful that God has kept me employed without a hitch.

The kids are growing, i can't believe it's been almost a month since little Julie "Peanut" Webber joined our family-- she is an eating machine (i'm pretty sure she gets that from me). She does pretty good with letting me sleep, but then again-- i'm not the one with the built in milk factory (i am, however, the one that sleeps REALLY deeply)

We've been spending a good amount of time at "jungle java"-- an excellent playscape for the kids with a coffee shop for the adults. It gives me and Nicole a chance to catch up and play some cards. It is definetly good for the kids to run around-- and it's much to cold to play outside for any length of time..

Thats about all my ramblings...

New Year -- Random Stuff

So, the new baby is here.... The kids were with Grandma Sue and Cappy for a few days, and they now look as though they've grown like 6 inches. I'm sure it has something to do with the contrast of little Julie, but it's hard to say for sure.

We had a low key New years eve-- I am still dragging butt from the lack of sleep (and my wife is being VERY nice about letting me sleep). We've also had a bunch of visitors, some are even bringing food-- which obviously I love ;-).

We spent a good chunk of last week in the hospital, so i missed the news until after the fact, but apparently Sadaam is dead--- it seems like that happened pretty fast.

ah well--- random stuff, here's a cute pic of my daughter's foot

Thats what i'm wondering lately.

The newest Webber has us wondering when she'll be making an appearance. Nicole has been experiencing symptoms of preeclampsia and this has the doctors wondering whether or not to induce labor....... basically, at any one of her appointments she could be told to make her next stop the hospital (or hostipal if you're matt or kayla).

On top of that, we are experiencing a seasonal rush at work. Which has resulted in some looming deadlines. I've had my guys working saturdays and looks like i'll need to work one coming up for a systems cutover.

Overall, life is crazy-- while i'm looking forward to the family time, I am definetly looking forward to the slowdown.

I'm taking liberty with the term (which google may take offense to), but ever since google took over blogger i've been waiting for them to really sink their teeth into it. When they announced the blogger beta-- i was stoked, but they didnt let me convert my old blogs over.

Hangover

I'm pretty sure i woke up with a "baby stuff" hangover today---

Our house currently looks like babies 'R' us threw up all over it.... (okay, i may have to eat that, because my wife is pretty amazing during the day when i'm not home). We had a baby shower this weekend for the newest addition to the crew. This resulted in a HUGE outpouring of generosity and love from a lot of people. Beyond just the tangible help, I was very moved to see people who undeniably care about us.

We were able to get everything we can forseeably need for this kid for the first good chunk of her life-- which lifts a huge burden, and i am SO thankful.

God has clearly blessed us, and i just want to throw out a thank you to anyone that came, or sent along blessings.
