And the extra size is put to good use, since the Garmin Nuvi 660 boasts an extraordinary 4.3-inch display screen, making it a full inch larger than its predecessor, the Garmin Nuvi 350. The touch screen has an incredible 480x272 pixel resolution, allowing for crisp, colorful visuals that are still easily readable in direct sunlight.

All of the unit's functions are accessible through the touch screen, putting everything right at your fingertips. The interface is completely intuitive, with easy-to-read menus, icons, and options. The on-screen keyboard is also quite large, only adding to the ease of use. Since everything is handled through the touch screen, the external design is a picture of simplicity, containing only a power switch on the top. The right side has an SD expansion slot, a USB port, and a headphone jack. A flip-up patch antenna stores neatly into the back.

The device is equipped with a WAAS-enabled (Wide Area Augmentation System) GPS receiver for unmatched position accuracy, and it comes preloaded with maps of North America. Other features include integrated Bluetooth, text-to-speech, traffic capabilities, travel tools, and multimedia functions.

Nokia Prism

While the rest of the cell phone world has gone on a diet, Nokia has kept their phones relatively “plump” – until now. The Nokia 7500 Prism is beautiful, stunning, and has finally embarked on a diet program that seems to be working out solely for appearance's sakes. Nokia has always created cell phones that were just a bit different, which usually gained the company a lot of attention, but the Prism should have been called “chameleon” due to its ability to run with the pack, but still stand out.

The Prism does shine, but its overall features tend to be a bit off the mark. To start, the Prism’s keypad is somewhat difficult to use. Nokia focused the keypad design upon fashion, rather than function. The keys are literally sliced in half in order to create a triangular “prismatic” effect. Although the keypad looks good, you would have to have child-like hands in order to touch one number without tapping another. Other problems with the Prism include a camera that is located on the bottom of the phone, which makes it rather awkward, and a volume button that is difficult to control.

Overall, the Prism is a good looking, thin phone, but it lacks substance. Testers found the phone to be somewhat frustrating upon use, but the overall diamond shaped theme was able to attract a fair share of users. When it comes to the Nokia Prism, you will have to decide whether you are seeking beauty or brains, because in this case, you can’t have both.

A Novel Idea from Sony

Have you ever thought about carrying twelve novels in your arms? They can get quite heavy. This new style of reading is a great idea for students. How may of our children are sitting in front of a computer right now playing games, blogging and e-mailing their friends? Wouldn't it be fantastic if they were using the Sony Digital Reader instead?

Most children and young adults would prefer the computer to opening a good book. With this hand-held device, they can have both without having to take breaks to rest their eyes, and the digital book has a no-glare screen and no back light so it eliminates eyestrain. It has a light that attaches to it to provide extra light when needed. The light, sold separately, can be purchased for $14.99. The digital book weighs only 9 ounces is 1/3'' thin and can hold up to 160 e-books. The digital books formats include Adobe® PDF, RTF, TXT, BBeB and Microsoft Word. It also has a rechargeable battery pack, and a long battery life; you can read about 7500 pages continuously without having to recharge. With Sony connect you can browse hundreds of titles and you can go to other sites that have unsecured E-Books in file formats that the Reader supports.

There are several sites where you can get free e-books so it is unnecessary to buy them; you can purchase the Digital Reader from several sites as well as it is not in local stores yet. The lowest price I have found to date was at Sony Style for $299.99.

Apple iPhone Mania

The iPhone is Apple Inc’s latest multi-media and internet supportive GSM mobile phone. It was conceptualized by Steve Jobs, whose vision was to create a cell phone with portable access to information. It made its debut in the U.S. in June, 2007, and is currently being introduced world-wide in stages. Some of its features include:

1)Camera phone.
2)Portable media player that includes the iPod.
3)Text messaging.
4)Visual voice mail.
5)E-mail.
6)Internet surfing.
7)Wi-Fi connectivity.
8)Virtual keyboard and touch screen.
9)Video player but not video recorder.
10)TV watching.
11)To buy and download songs from the iTunes Store directly into the iPhone.
12)In-built Wi-Fi to access internet.
13)Displays real web pages instead of simplified ones as in other phones.
14)Supports wireless ear pieces that use Bluetooth technology.

The iPhone's camera works just like a regular digital camera. It's camera images can be accessed on the Mac’s iPhoto software.

There are fundamental differences in the software of the iPhone and Mac Operating System, but Apple Inc is working towards achieving compatibility between the two. The iPhone’s Safari web browser is its platform to support third party applications written with AJAX.

The iPhone’s maintenance includes its built-in rechargeable battery. This battery has a one year warranty that can be extended with a warranty purchase from AppleCare. When the warranty expires, a battery replacement costs USD $79. This cost must be taken into consideration when a buyer makes the purchase of around USD $399 for the iPhone.

iPhone’s SIM card lock and activation can be made to bypass the AT & T network by using a combination of customized software and modification of the iTunes’ binary codes.

The iPhone

Reviewers seem to agree that the new iPhone is the most amazing gadget to come on the market in a very long time. It is compact and easy to use. Among its many features are an alarm clock, calculator, world clock, stopwatch, timer, notepad, calendar and camera. It's capable of browsing the Internet with a Safari browser and a WiFi browser, which is very fast. You can also get a 6-day weather forecast. It has a wonderful 3-1/2" touch-screen that you can scroll through by swiping your finger over it, and tap twice to access any particular part of the web page. With pictures, you can "pinch" your fingers together on the screen to zoom in and "unpinch" them to zoom out. The iPod feature is the most highly touted off all its features. It is easy to use and visually exciting. It uses old-fashioned album covers from which you can make your selection. It also has a 2mp camera that takes quality pictures, but no video capability.

The virtual keyboard is quite small, but once you get used to it, even large fingers can use it without too much trouble. Strangely enough, the least amazing part of the iPhone is the call quality, which is not what you would expect in a device so expensive. It uses AT&T EDGE exclusively. The battery will take about 400 charges, but must be sent back to AT&T to be replaced; users cannot replace it themselves.

Home Theater Emerges

Creating a home theater doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg! A home entertainment system can be simplistic or complicated depending on your goals.

If your purse tops out at around $10,000 and you have some technical skills don't worry, the following setup will complete your project with flying colors. Beginning with the basics, search, find and purchase a 60-inch Pioneer plasma TV and a 32-inch Sony Bravia LCD television. Next on your list is the Denon receiver, Blu-ray DVD player, and HD DirectTV with DVR. Use your resources to find the best deal in your area. The last additions to your new home theater are a 20-inch Panasonic LCD television, Universal Remote Control MX-850, Lutron RadioRA Lighting System, and Sonance in-ceiling speakers. The Universal Remote Control uses a RF frequency that communicates with your electronics from anywhere in the house. Use your specific home layout for configuring the new theater to your needs.

For those who have a bit more money to spend, the next setup will render you speechless. Begin this project with homesmarthome.net for overall design and installation. After acquiring the following building blocks, your technician will then install your new system. Shop for a Sim2 Domino30 DLP projector which features digital surround sound and additional cutting-edge technology that will give the ultimate viewing experience. Select a 76-inch Stewart Filmscreen GrayHawk screen with a flexible front screen that gives superior image quality. Definitive Technology IW-SUB subwoofer and Definitive Technology SubAmp600 together provide bass-driven optimal power using a relatively small area. The Denon AVR-3806 receiver features multi-channel performance and multi-zone functionality. The Denon DVD-1920 player is a universal player that has virtual surround sound. Panamax model 4300EX power conditioner protects your equipment from power surges and strikes. To achieve outstanding surround sound quality, three more items must be obtained. Sonance Symphony 623T in-wall loudspeakers (quantity 3), Sonance SRS-1 in-ceiling surround loudspeakers (quantity 2), and Sonance Symphony 622TR in-ceiling loudspeakers (quantity 2) all of which pivot for maximum sound quality. And last but not least, the Universal Remote Control MX-850 completes the system. This home theater setup ballparks around $15,000.

Of course, whether or not you have more funding or less, some adjustments and accommodations may be necessary. Remember to do your homework as far as retail shopping goes and don't forget there are numerous resources available for consultation.

LG and YouTube Join Forces in Mobile Technology

LG Electronics is a worldwide technology leader in mobile communications, and is pairing up with YouTube, the leading online video community where people can watch and share originally created videos. LG announced an agreement to provide YouTube on its handsets, allowing users to view and upload videos. LG will apply a new user interface for easily accessing and uploading video content on its upcoming handsets. They will be available worldwide starting at the end of the year.

LG customers will be able to film, upload, and view videos on YouTube using their mobile phone, just as they would with a home computer. LG seems to be driving forward with wireless internet services and uniting its technology leadership in the mobile industry, according to the President and CEO of LG, Dr. Skott Ahn. “People want to be able to capture interesting moments with their cell phones wherever they are and whenever they want,” said Steve Chen, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer for YouTube. “We’re excited to be partnering with LG to give people the opportunity to enjoy YouTube for watching and sharing those moments.”

LG first announced its agreement to pre-install Google’s services on its handsets in March 2007. As a first step in this partnership, LG and Google have already launched the world’s first HSDPA Smartphone with Google services pre-installed, the LG-KS10. The KS10 features Google Search, Gmail™ Mobile, and Google Maps™ Mobile. With an electronic paper display and one-handed navigation, the Reader allows active readers to carry as much reading material as they want without all the bulk. The impressive 6-inch display is easy to read even in bright sunlight, and the screen allows for high contrast and resolution, and a near 180 degree viewing angle. What’s even better, the text can even be magnified for readers with impaired vision.

The Sony Reader is about the size of an average paperback novel, but thinner at about ½ inch thick, and can store hundreds of books internally with the addition of an optional Memory Stick or Secure Digital flash memory card, much like the ones used in digital cameras. The Reader can also store and display personal documents in Adobe PDF format, JPEG photos, and your favorite web content. With a battery life equivalent to about 7,500 page turns, avid readers can go through dozens of books without having to recharge.

The high-resolution electronic paper display technology delivers a realistic print look that is nearly identical to paper. This provides readable text and graphics from a variety of angles, and no difficulty in bright sunlight. There is no backlight, and readers will not experience the fatigue of long-term reading on an LCD screen. Each page is delivered as a static image, so there is no flicker or screen refresh to add to eyestrain.

Sony Connect provides an online store in an easy desktop application called the Connect Reader. The software allows readers to search and browse thousands of downloadable eBooks and easily transfer them to the Sony Reader device.

Vizio VM60P 60" Plasma HDTV

The Vizio VM60P 60" Plasma HDTV is an engineering marvel. Unlike separate GPS units, the GPS watch is worn on the wrist. One model by Suuno has an integrated chronograph, compass, barometer, altimeter, and thermometer functions built-in. But fitting GPS technology into a wrist-watch device that is easy to use and consumes little power isn’t easy. Different models have different features, but in general the GPS watch is targeted toward serious hikers, climbers, bicyclists, boaters, and adventurers.

Using satellite triangulation, the GPS watch can determine the exact position of the wearer within a few feet. It calculates distance traveled and rate of speed by checking your position from time to time. A good GPS watch will ensure you stay on the trail even if landmarks are hidden or intersecting paths make it difficult to follow. A GPS watch with a compass can be a life-saver to anyone who ventures away from the typical paths.

When considering a GPS watch, look for PC integration. An integrated GPS can download or upload maps. The Suunto GPS watch features compatibility with National Geographic’s online Topo mapping service, so users from all over the world can upload and download maps for biking, backpacking, paddling, etc.

A PC-enabled GPS watch can be a great training tool for planning trips. You can upload consecutive logs from the GPS watch to your PC and the software analyzes and compares your performance. Based on the results you can plan your next excursion, map it out, and upload it to your GPS watch.

Current GPS watches look like multi-mode digital sports watches. Prices range according to model and features, but Suunto’s high-end GPS runs right around $500. Prices may decline over time depending on the demand for such an adventurous piece of technology.

New Gadgets

The Global Positioning System (GPS) uses a constellation of Earth orbiting satellites to transmit microwave signals. A GPS receiver determines the location, speed, direction and time by some scientific measurements.

The GPS satellite system is managed by the United States Air Force 50th Space Wing. GPS is made available for civilian use as part of military service for public good. GPS is a great help in navigation, map-making, land surveys, study of earthquakes, synchronization of telecommunications, scientific and commercial uses. GPS calculates the position based on current time, satellite position and measured signal delay. The error possibility is between 3 - 15 meters.

GPS is sometimes inaccurate due to interferences and jamming. Possible natural sources that interfere with GPS are electromagnetic radiation, solar flares, natural geomagnetic storms and the Van Allen Belt radiation at the South Atlantic Anomaly. GPS is very sensitive as it can be affected by metal components in the vicinity.

The plasma display panel (PDP) uses small gas cells which are electrified into plasma. This plasma subsequently works on the phosphors to emit the light that enables the display of images. The plasma TV has the capacity to produce improved quality in images but suffers the consequential decrease in its life span due to the natural degradation of its components.
Cell phone technology is geared towards producing smart phones that possess mobile phone technology, together with the dual function of a small computer. The iPhone is one such example of a smart phone.

New electronic technology is used in industrial and consumer products. The adverse effects of new technology are in the unauthorized piracy and detrimental use that takes advantage of established products and services. This subsequently creates newer innovations to deal with these violations.

Samsung FP-T5084 Plasma TV

If you watch a lot of sports, play tons of video games, or just plain enjoy watching TV in style, you'll love what the Samsung FP-T5084 1080P plasma TV.

This TV's screen is expansive at 50" wide, treating viewers to pictures that are amazingly crisp, detailed, and color-true. The whites are white enough to make Clorox proud, the blacks are deeply black, and everything in between shows up just the way it should. The details are so good, you'll have no problem seeing the individual drops of sweat on football players.

It's a great choice for video gamers, and it's not just because of the true colors and crystal-clear pictures. Samsung included some protection from burn-in. The pixel-shift option slowly moves the picture, preventing stationary images from burning into the screen. And even if the TV did suffer from a case of burn-in, there are other programs built in to fix the problem. While most people (even gamers) probably wouldn't have too much to worry about, it's great that Samsung went the extra mile and included protection against burn-in.

The speakers are mounted on either side of the TV. Samsung put the speakers on the bottom in a previous model, but the side-by-side style is more aesthetically pleasing. It gives the TV a more elongated, stylish look. However, the sound isn't that great. But then anything would pale in comparison to a top-notch surround sound system, a must-have to go with any large and crystal-clear TV screen.

At around $3,000 or less, it's hard to beat the price for a TV of this quality. As plasma TVs go, the Samsung FP-T5084 is one of the best buys around.

GPS Games

By now you have most likely heard of the GPS (Global Positioning System). Most new cars are equipped with them; even cell phones possess the capability. We have, creative beings that we are, taken this technology and made a game of it.

Geocaching (pronounced Geo-cashing, like cashing a check) is a treasure hunting game that many of those in the loop of technological advances have come up with. It takes the treasure hunts of our youth and adds an element of technology and excitement. A GPS unit, if you do not already own one or have the capacity in your electronic arsenal, can be purchased for a relatively reasonable price at Radio Shack or through your cell phone service provider. You don't need to buy expensive equipment because Geocaching devices can get pretty beat up.

Once you have the device it's really as simple as visiting www.geocaching.com to find an "X marks the spot" location to begin from. The basic principal is that you acquire a location of latitude/longitude that is near you (for beginners) and then head out on the open road to hunt down your treasure. You can find most anything in your treasure, but there are rules and etiquette guidelines to follow. If you find something, you must replace it with something else. There is also very often a log book to record your adventure.

The rules are simple: Find something, leave something, then write about it. Then you must replace the cache, it does not need to be anything expensive. Yes it is a treasure hunt but you don't need to place expensive objects such as gold or jewels in the cache. It could be something as simple as a map or a non-perishable food item like cookies.

The point is to have fun. This is an adventure and once you are familiar with the process you can travel around the world on these treasure hunts.

Coby MP3 Clip vs. iPod Shuffle

The Coby MP3 Clip provides both usefulness and convenience of mobile music in a compact, unique style. This MP3 player, also known as MPC582, is, as the name implies, a clip. It measures 2.8 x 0.6 x 1.8 inches and weighs about 3 pounds. So you can attach it to clothing, belts, bags, just about anything and take your music wherever you go.

The MPC582 supports both MP3 and WMA file types. It provides 1 GB of storage which enables up to a 300 song capacity at 128 kbps. The clip features 3 buttons for easy song navigation at your fingertips. The Coby MP3 clip is not only used as a music player, but also allows for mobile data storage and transfer via a USB 2.0. Well, Hitachi has just introduced a new Fingervein Security scanner that even James Bond would have a hard time operating. The new fingervein system detects your veins, not your prints, in order to start a car, or adjust car settings. No matter how much somebody tries to duplicate your veins, it simply isn’t possible.

Hitachi has also announced that it will release a biometric cardless credit system that literally views the blood vessels in your finger in order to read your personal information. Hitachi is expected to release both the cardless credit system and the fingervein security system in Japan over the next few months, and both systems will certainly make their way to North America shortly thereafter.

Both machines are simple to use, simply place one finger inside of the machine and seconds later the machine will either function, or reject your on the basis that your veins do not match. Veins are unique to each person, and unlike fingerprints they cannot be rubbed off or duplicated. Hitachi has certainly brought technology into the future with these innovative products, and consumers are anxiously awaiting their appearance. Imagine a world where the very blood inside of your body will determine whether or not you can purchase a pair of shoes, or open a car door. Not only will these new Hitachi systems work well with credit and cars, they could potentially be the next wave in home security as well. The future is beginning to look just a bit brighter, just don’t forget your veins.

Mac Pro 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Desktop Computer

What doesn’t this amazing piece of technology do? Does your old VCR dominate your entertainment center and seem rather outdated?

Then perhaps you need to pick up a Toshiba DVD Player/VCR Combo with MP3 and JPEG Playback. Before ranting on any further about this unit, just know that is only costs around $85.00 online, and is made by a major electronics company, so you know it’s decent.

Not only can you play DVD’s and record at the same time, you can also copy them to tape if you so desire. It has a feature in it called Color Stream Pro, a Toshiba design that helps increase the quality of video cassette playback. The VCR itself features a 4 heads, and the DVD player features zoom and also lets you view JPEG’s and other pictures, however they must be burned to a CD to do so.

You can’t ask for much more bang for the buck. It eliminates the need for two bulky units on your entertainment center and allows for this sleeker, piano-black unit to take their place. This DVD/VCR is great for anybody who is looking to inexpensively reduce the clutter. Priced at a meager $399 thru various online vendors, you can now enjoy High-def DVD’s on your high def TV for a fraction of what it would have previously cost you!

Featuring what is more than likely going to be the last generation of DVD players, as Blu-Ray makes its presence more and more felt in the market. This DVD player is a great deal, laden with features that will make you say ooh!

It has True DVD format, is compatible with 720i, 1080i, and new to this model, 1080p, so you know it will work for your TV no matter what type you have. The only catch on this DVD player is the warranty. It covers 1 year of parts, but only 90 days of labor, making the purchasing of an extended plan a definite must-do.

If you are looking for the next best thing to Blu-Ray, then look no further. You have found it in Sony’s new mean DVD machine. A word to the wise, do not buy this DVD player unless you have a high-definition TV, it is specifically calibrated for this use. Not that it will not work on a normal TV, just that you can buy a much cheaper DVD player for a regular TV, and if you have a high-def, well then go pick one up!

Samsung SCH-i760

When it comes to cell phones and just about any other electronic device, small and sleek rules the day. Well, usually. Although companies are packing more and more features into tiny packages, you still have to sacrifice some utility if you go with the smallest cell phone. So while the new Samsung SCH-i760 is chunky for a cell phone, it makes up for all that by being so multi functional. It's the ideal choice for business-centric people.

For starters, this phone has a keyboard. If it were much smaller, it would be too hard to work with. The keyboard is hidden, but you can slide it out easily. The display screen switches to a horizontal view smoothly and with little delay.

Speaking of the 2.8 inch screen, it's sharp and clear. The screen is still viewable in bright sunlight, though it could wash the colors out a bit. And did we mention that it's a touch-screen? The Samsung SCH-i760 comes with a little stylus you can use to make selections.

Want to view Excel documents and PowerPoint presentations? You can do it with this phone. Surf the web, respond to email, and use an Instant Messenger? You can do it at the speed of 2.4Mbps. Camera and video capture? You get that too, along with a speaker phone and Bluetooth capability.

The main drawback is that the phone is on the bulky side, and it lacks V Cast support. However, this is one of the best cell phone choices for any business professional on the move.

Nokia N95-3 VS iPhones

Nokia is introducing their revised and enhanced U.S. version of the flagship N95 smart phone (the N95-3). Their timing could not be better considering the amount of frustrated iPhone users. The N95-3 went on sale last week, just days after the iPhone's 1.1.1 firmware update officially shut down third-party applications and rendered many iPhones useless.

What is most impressive about the N95-3's is the support for AT&T 3G high-speed data network, and that N95-3 works with the iPhone's own data plan. To sweeten the appeal, the N95-3 has:

-Built in GPS/Free World Maps
-5 MP Camera with Carl Zeiss optics
-30 FPS VHS quality video.

The Apple iPhone launched with features such as a protective shield, capacitive touch panel, electronic field, and a TFT LCD display. Will this be enough to fend off the Nokia smart phone? In the age where technology is only as good as yesterday, Nokia has found the answers to the consumers needs by launching the N95 smart phone. Will the consumer choose a built-in GPS system, 30 FPS VHS quality videos with the purchase of a N95-3, or a capacitive touch panel or TFT LCD display with the iPhone? Will Apple work out the many issues with the iPhone or fall from grace with the customer?

LG Chocolate VX8550

Last year, there was a lot of hype surrounding a Verizon phone known as the LG Chocolate VX8500. Sleek and glossy, it was about the size and shape of a candy bar. It would have been irresistible if it weren’t for the confusing controls and the lack of a speaker phone.

Enter the LG Chocolate VX8550. It looks a lot like its predecessor, but shinier and a bit bigger. When people complained about the VX8500, Verizon paid attention and changed the Chocolate phone accordingly. The user interface with its friendly scroll-wheel is much more intuitive, and it has a speaker phone.

It has the features that come with most modern cell phones now, including a camera, Bluetooth capability, text messaging, emailing, and more. You can also download music to this phone either directly for $1.99, or save money and do it for $.99 on your PC before transferring it to the phone.

One of the downsides (which may not be a downside for everyone) is that the Chocolate’s buttons aren’t real. They are touch-sensitive keys. They vibrate slightly when activated, but they still take some getting used to. Fortunately you can adjust the touch sensitivity. One of the other problems is that the buttons are on the glossy side of the phone, where it picks up smudges and fingerprints fast.

Like the original Chocolate, this one has a 1.3-megapixel camera. For a cell phone, it does a superb job taking pictures. The pictures are clear and the colors are vibrant. But since it doesn’t have flash, it’s not ideal for low-light conditions. The video quality is about what you’d expect from a cell phone… so-so.

Overall, the LG Chocolate VX8550 is a great improvement over the original. Thumbs up.

LG Prada

Fashionistas, if you do not have the LG Prada phone already, you are missing out on a truly superb partnership. The LG Prada phone came out a few months ago, but it still makes nearly every “top ten best phones” list in nearly every country. The LG Prada phone is, of course, stylish, but it is also highly efficient.

From a stylistic point of view, this phone is pure eye candy. The LG Prada phone comes in a sleek black case with a classic clock on the front decked out in silver. Once you open up the phone, you will find a touch screen featuring a small fish (name him if you like) that can be moved around the screen with the touch of your fingertip. Testers found the touch screen easy to use and functional, which is a nice touch since the entire keyboard is based upon touch (keypad and all).

Since this phone is a sheer work of art, the LG Prada phone retails for around $560.00, but it does come with a sleek Prada box as well. Also, you will delight in the Prada case that the phone sits in, which is sure to impress when it emerges from your bag. Some users found the location of the battery to be slightly frustrating, since it is located in back of the phone, but if fashion is what you are looking for this phone is for you. Bar none, this is the most beautiful phone on the market, and it is entirely user friendly as well. Those that have the LG Prada phone love it, even though the price tag is slightly high – then again, it’s Prada.

Nu CinePlayer

The Nu CinePlayer is sleek, shiny, and super thing. In short, this is one DVD player that will certainly catch anyone’s eye (and you can even catch your reflection in it’s slick exterior). Nu claims that this DVD player is the smallest on the market, and this proves to be true as testers found the overall design to be rather appealing. Although the CinePlayer functions as a DVD player should, there are just a few drawbacks that put some testers off.

If we are to start with the bad news first, the Nu CinePlayer does not have an HDMI output, and most cords and adapters are sold separately. While that’s nearly all of the poor aspects that testers found, the positive features tend to outshine the negative ones. This compact DVD is perfect for the constant traveler who is just looking to pass the time away, but most users found that this player is not quite comparable to higher end machines of the same type.

One major drawback that should be mentioned is the lack of control panel. You cannot operate your DVD without the use of the small remote, which would make the whole machine completely useless if you lose the remote. Overall DVD quality is excellent, which is really what you want to find in a portable DVD player, and if you don’t care about components and extra additions, this machine will work well for you. What really makes this machine stand out is its superb design, weightless body, and decent capabilities. Otherwise, the Nu CinePlayer is a great gift for anyone who tends to travel a lot, or for someone who simply wants a compact and lightweight DVD player.
