Over 60 films are shown in just four days, with nearly one hundred speakers. Directors, actors, scholars, and writers engage with audiences in lively discussions about the films.

This special weekend includes a two night stay at the Inn followed by a delicious full breakfast each morning. The weekend will kick off with a wine tasting of selected Veritas wines and assorted hors d'oeuvres at the Inn at Sugar Hollow on Friday evening. Not to worry about all of the hoopla, traffic and crowded restaurants in Charlottesville during the football season. With our mountain views, streams, long and colorful sunsets, hummingbirds, butterflies, deer, wild turkey and fox there is plenty of quiet entertainment. If you wish, you can stay on this, the west side of Charlottesville, entertain yourselves thoroughly and never have to deal with the confusion of a football weekend. There are several excellent wineries nearby, fun for touring and tasting and great fall hiking 2 miles from the inn. With free access into the Shenandoah National Park you can take an easy 2-hour hike to the top of the Blue Ridge to the Appalachian Trail.

There are several excellent restaurants just 10 minutes from the inn -- unaffected by the football dinner crowds in Charlottesville. You can have a wonderful meal nearby in peace and quiet on your own time schedule. Perfect!

Visit Charlottesville, stay with us at Sugar Hollow and drink in the springtime beauty of Central Virginia. The Charlottesville area gardens that will be open include:

*Morven open on Saturday, April 2, is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been open for Garden Week since 1933.

*The Country Home and Gardens and Friendly Gardens will be seen in the Scottsville/Esmont Area on Sunday and Monday, April 22 and 23.

*The University of Virginia Gardens, including the Pavillion homes and gardens and Carr's Hill, the private home of the University President and Mrs. John T. Casteen, will be open on Tuesday, April 24.

As the nation's oldest and largest statewide tour, Garden Week, throughout the state, will present four centuries of Virginia's rich heritage with more than 30 house and garden tours across the Commonwealth. Description: A festival for those that love the still image. Celebrating the careers of legendary artists and emerging talent there will be exhibitions, master classes, insight conversations, outdoor screenings and special events. "Festival guests will find photography shows literally everywhere: in the trees, projected in storefront windows, on the sides of buildings, and of course, in all the galleries. Our goal is to transform Downtown Charlottesville for the week into a “Living Image.”

The distinguished and honored photographers William Albert Allard, Sally Mann and Eugene Richards will present their work at the Festival.

Crozet Arts and Crafts Festival

Virginia Film Festival
Nov. 1-4, 2007
Location: Throughout Charlottesville
Description: Hosted by the University of Virginia. Designed as a four-day course on a cultural theme in which the public is invited to enroll, the Festival brings major talents to Charlottesville each year. The Festival presents a rich array of panel discussions addressing both high and low budget filmmaking. All panels are free.

In 2007, for its 20th annual event, Virginia Film Festival is planning a special family gathering. The 2007 theme will be KIN FLICKS, with more than a hundred speakers and films addressing popular and alternative images of family life.

In a record-breaking year in 2006 the Festival hosted such well-known guests as Morgan Freeman, Robert Duvall and Liev Schreiber. Festival organizers are currently in pursuit of members of some of the great movie clans (Fondas, Douglases, Wilsons, Rossellinis and more). Check the website for continuing updates.

A three-day celebration of dirt and drivelines will be held at the Oak Ridge Estate in Nelson County, July 26 - 28. The festivities, designed for owners of any Jeep product, will provide Jeep owners the opportunityto take their vehicles off road, across trails, through dirt and mud. A family friendly event the Daimler-Chrysler organizers plan a variety of fun activities for everyone including classes on off-road techniques, and obstacle course and trail rides. We have formalized the plans for our Winter Wine Weekend! (We know you've all been patiently waiting....and thank you.)

The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm, The Foxfield Inn, The Inn at Monticello and Veritas Vineyards and Winery have once again put together a great weekend on Friday and Saturday, March 2-3, 2007 to help you recover from the dreaded..... CABIN FEVER. The fun, food and wine (FFW) starts on Friday evening with a wine tasting of Veritas wines and light hors d'oeuvres. After a full country breakfast on Saturday morning we will gather at Veritas for a VIP tasting and tour until early afternoon. The rest of the day can be spent enjoying and exploring the wonderful historic sites, shopping, etc of the Charlottesville area.

Saturday night's FFW includes an exciting wine tasting dinner at Veritas Vineyards and Winery with a four course dinner, specially prepared for you by Veritas' own Chef, featuring Seared Beef Tenderloin. Each course is accompanied by a select Veritas wine.

Our weekend will conclude after a full country breakfast Sunday morning. The Winter Wine Weekend Package is all-inclusive and includes two nights at The Inn at Sugar Hollow Farm, transportation to and from dinner, a full country breakfast each morning wine tasting/tour, dinner, gratuities and all taxes.
