Well, friends & neighbors, here I am back again. After a long and quite difficult 2007, this time I'm back to stay. Thank you all who have continued to visit the blog and those who have sent good wishes after my Mother's death in November. It's time to come back, though and I have saved lots of goodies from around the 'net for you.

Hope you like all the new goodies I've added to the sidebar here. I'm working on Angelsolutions Boutique too. I have two new web sites too, LOL! Boutique Chic Gifts and Precious Pets Gift Shop. Hope you'll stop by and enjoy some delightful shopping.

BOO!! I'm Back!!

I'm back at the helm and so excited to be able to bring you more fun gift ideas again!

After a challenging year in real life, dear readers, and I was finally able to retire from my "day" job after 30 years of public service as I became ill.

More painful for me is my mother's illness, however. Mom had a heart attack in January, and again last month. She's doing better now and at home, Thank God, but the stress of that was overwhelming too.

It's my hope that by doing what I love to do, sharing fun ideas, we'll all have a great old time and I'll be able to release my creative spirit again! I've made some updates to the blog sidebar, so I hope you'll check out all the links. I'm off to update the Angelsolutions Boutique website too. But first, how about some hilarious BAT POOP & PUMPKIN POOP ideas for Halloween?

BAT POOP
I hear that you've been playing tricks,
So listen, here's the scoop...
I'm running short on candy treats,
So this year you get Bat Poop!!!

Use raisins; licorice, root beer or other dark jelly beans; chocolate covered peanuts (you get the idea!) and put them in a little bag, a cellophane cone bag would be PERFECT for this! Then attach this poem to the bag.

These would be great little party favors for kids' Halloween parties, or if you make smaller bags, you can give them to the trick-or-treaters in your neighboorhood.

Here's a different version of a poem to use:

BAT POOP
Furry Little bats,
They don't like cats.
They fly at night,
They are a sight.
They come and go by the moonlight.

Use candy corn, and put them into a little plastic pumpkin (you can probably get them at the dollar stores) OR those *wonderful* cellophane cone bags or smaller cellophane bags would go great here! LOL Then, tie the poem to it.

Teacher Survival Kit

Almost time for the end of school, isn't it? Another school year coming to an end. Need a cute gift for a teacher? Here's a reprint from Angelsolutions Boutique, where you'll find more Survival Kits. This would look adorable on a Teacher's desk in a canning jar. You could cover the lid part with fabric and paint the screw-on lid. Glue on some little school-themed figures from the craft store and there you are! If you use a canning jar, print the list below on an index card. Place the jar in a cellophane gift bag & attach the card with some curling ribbon. Precious!

Mother's Day Mom-isms

Spring is here at last!

Spring is finally here and it's time to turn our thoughts to outdoor things, not to mention Spring Cleaning! Ugh! But there's no reason we can't make things fun, is there? Let's start with a sweet gift idea for someone who loves gardening!

Take a basket and line it with some kraft shred . Then, add some gifts for the gardener--gloves, gardening tools, gardener's soap, and various seed packets or a small plant. And don't forget the Magic Dirt! Eh? Magic Dirt???? Of course, silly...you can't start a garden without Magic Dirt, you know!! Here's how to fix it up for the gift basket.

Use your favorite potting soil mix, like Miracle Gro potting soil mix, for example. Put it in a large ziplock bag or even a cellophane gift bag with a twist tie. Attach a gift card with the following poem to the bag of Magic Dirt and you've got it!

MAGIC DIRT
This is magic dirt - that's right!
An angel left it here last night,
She gave it to me, and I to you,
Cause you like to garden and I like you.
Just sprinkle some on fresh new ground,
Make a wish, toss it around,

'Tis Time For Irish Blessin's & Here's A Few For You!

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner and Irish Blessings & sayings are just the thing for some quick treats for family and friends. Irish Blessings are beautiful and perfect for gift tags! I scrounged up a few to use for some quick treats this St. Patrick's Day!

Need some quick gift ideas for your children's class party? Sunday School? Want to put together a few quick gifts for some friends or neighbors? Here's some ideas!

Anything green goes, of course! But you don't have to limit yourself to that. Try this:

Gold chocolate coin candy in a Shamrock bag, and use this Irish Blessing on the gift tag card(and be sure to tie it up with some curling ribbon!):

May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light,
May good luck pursue you each morning and night!

What I do is look at the saying, blessing, poem, etc that I want to use FIRST sometimes, when I'm trying to come up with an idea for group treats. That way, I get an idea for a theme. Here's another one...

For this, you can maybe use a mug with teabags, or just 2-3 teabags per person, depending on what you're doing, put them in the small or large shamrock bags, and use this wonderful Irish Blessing:

Chinese New Year - Year of the Pig

Sunday, February 18th is Chinese New Year--a beautiful, tradition-rich holiday. The Chinese Year celebrations are marked by visits to kin, relatives and friends, and the liberal use of the color red. Red packets are given to young people and children by the married and elders. Red packets contain money in even numbered amounts.

To sweep out the old and welcome the new, on Chinese New Year Eve, people have an annual housecleaning. In addition to sweeping the floor and wiping the furniture, families decorate their home with flowers and Spring Couplets, which are short Chinese poems written on vertical scrolls of red paper. These poems usually express good wishes for the family in the year to come.

Happy Veteran's Day!

Just wanted to say thank you to all the veterans out there. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, your pride and your honor. Our country is richer for the time you gave her.

In honor of my nephews, who are both in the Army and deployed, I am sending care packages to servicemen this year for Christmas and beyond. I have also applied to sponsor a K-9 military unit in honor of my ailing dog, Toby. As I sit here in tears reading their stories, I realize it's me that received the gift.

Calendar Crusades & Dog Bisquits In A Jar...

Started crocheting again today, and let me tell you---it feels wonderful to hold yarn in my hands again! Woo hoo! I'd missed it! I'm making a shawl for a dear friend for Christmas. Can't wait to see it finished. Crocheting lets me enjoy another of my vices...watching movies! I'd better get down to the Hollywood Video & rent an armful this weekend!

The events calendar on the Angelsolutions Boutique site has been replaced. I just wasn't happy with the old one. This one is easier to use. Now I can start putting in some fun days to celebrate again, as well as holidays & observances. But then again, who needs a reason to give a gift? Everyone likes getting a present, so why not whip up a thoughtful gift for a loved one right quick? =)

The Boutique Cookbook has also been overhauled and it's much nicer too. Now I can start loading all these jillions of recipes I have! LOL YIPPEEEEE!

Speaking of recipes and gifts, here's a real cutie for a dog lover friend. It's right off the web site.

Dog Cookies In A Jar

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
2/3 cup non-fat milk powder
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1-1/2 tsp. Beef boullion

Layer the ingredients in the order given in a 1 quart jar. Attach the directions. You can type or print them on a pretty dog themed recipe card and attach to the jar.

Dog Cookies: Empty contents of jar into a bowl. Cut in 1/2 cup shortening, 1 egg and 3/4 cup hot water. Knead for 5 minutes. Roll 1/2 inch thick on floured board. Cut into bone shapes or triangles, etc. (You can Also use a bone shaped cookie cutter). Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Let cool. Store in refrigerator.

With the coming of Labor Day weekend, I start getting that holiday feeling. Not in the way the stores do, but in the crafting kinda way. You know us crafters gotta start early, right? LOL

I'm putting up lots of Gifts In a Jar recipes, Survival Kits ideas and gift tag sayings at the web site now and it's got me really going. I'm just dying to dive into my craft closet and not come out till Christmas! Ha!

Labor Day is a United States federal holiday that takes place on the first Monday of September. In 2006, Labor Day will be September 4.

Labor Day is generally regarded simply as a day of rest and, unlike on May Day, political demonstrations are rare. Forms of celebration include picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, water activities, and public art events. Families with school- age children take it as the last chance to travel before the end of summer. Some teenagers and young adults view it as the last weekend for parties before returning to school.

Back to School Time!

Kids are going back to school around the country and it won't be long before Fall is finally here. It's been so hot everywhere, I'm sure we're all looking forward to Fall.

School time brings with it lots of fun activities--PTA, sports, fund raisers, class parties, festivals, etc. A great way to start off the school year though would be to send a little gift to your child's teacher.

After months of thinking, planning and working at it, Angelsolutions Boutique is back and it's completely rebuilt from top to bottom!

Now you'll find all sorts of great information there! I've saved gift ideas, gift tag sayings, recipes, craft ideas and a bunch of other stuff for literally years of net surfing and now I'm ready to share it with you.

Using a content management system called Joomla, Angelsolutions Boutique is totally reorganized. Even the events calendar has a great new look! Keep track of all those fun days to celebrate with The Boutique Calendar and you can even submit some! Give it a try!

Another new feature is The Boutique Cafe, a message board meant to be a warm, pleasant place where people are welcomed and friendships are formed. Come chat about crafts, gift ideas, recipes and make friends!

But the BEST NEWS I saved for last! The old shopping cart was entirely too small, and it's getting outrageously expensive to sell on eBay. So...the shop has moved into a HUGE new store, The Boutique Shop Online! The new store already has well over 600 items and will come close to 1,000 by the time I'm done. The whole Watkins line is there. The Stanley Products line is almost ready to load up. Tupperware will come next. All the great Cello in a Box cellophane gift bag products are there and there are a couple new companies for you to check out too! Come by and take a look! The store is open & I'm adding new stock every day!

Here's some wonderfully easy gift ideas that are sure to put a big smile on Mom's face & touch her heart:

A Picture Says a Thousand Words - Mother's Day is about love, family time, a special time to be cherised. A simple idea can be the best gift in the world to a mother! Purchase a wooden-like frame and put a family picture in it, maybe a photo of the grandkids, etc. To make the frame really stand out use a hot glue gun and glue one or two pretty flowers on it with springs or leaves down the side of the frame. Wrap in a cello bag, add tulle and/or ribbon, or even a large pull bow, and you have a stunning Mother's Day gift!

Does mom like to garden? Be sure to check out our Southern Bloom bags! Take a small plant pot, there are very cute decorative ones that you can find at the dollar store, or even at your local nursery. Fill it up with all different kinds of seed packets, and tools that mom would need to make her gift. You can even purchase a set of 12 Jiffy-Pots at a nursery and insert 2 or 3 of them into the bag plus 2 or 3 packets of different seeds.

Do you have a hard time deciding what to give someone as a gift? You're not alone! Many people have a terrible time coming up with that perfect gift for that special someone. Here are some tips for using your head...and your heart to pick out the perfect present for your dear one:

Stop and think about your recipient--really think about them;

Do they have a job? Do they like it?
Do they have a home or apartment?
Do they have a car? Van? Truck?
Are they married?
Do they have kids? grandkids?
Do they have pets? Dogs? Cats? Birds? (etc)
Do they have any hobbies? What are those?
Do they have any causes that are important to them?
What are their likes? Dislikes?
Do they collect anything?

Considering as many of these things, and any others you can think of, help the recipient feel that the gift is about THEM--feel your thoughtfullness of them.
So there, in a nutshell, are some handy ways to pick a perfect gift for your special recipient. Think about the person you are giving to--and the idea will come. Your recipient will feel the love & care you put into it too!
