I am ready to use a couple of computers for target practice. What a damn morning...among other things I will not go into I have been trying to fix the error message on my new laptop that I got when I was trying to do the windows updates. I think I have it fixed...used the go back and went back to day one. Did the updates and they all took with no error messages. Of course that wiped out every fucking bit of the security that I had on it...and even though the security downloads show in documents I can't pull them up now. Oh hell, no problem see, I am made of fucking money. So I went to town, bought a damn Norton disc and downloaded it. No problems right? Except I also have Norton on the new desk top and my account now doesn't show both the laptop and the desktop. And if that is not enough I had yahoo messenger on the laptop and tried to uninstall..won't do it...WTF? Gotdam. I am beginning to hate computers in general and YAHOO in fucking particular. One thing for damn sure...I am not going to click on Windows Exporer 64 bit...that is what got me in trouble to begin with.

I may just go fishing and say fuck it all...

I just got this hilarious youtube video via e mail...I laughed all the way through it. Looks like Saturday Night Live is back to its old standards.

I don't have much this morning...I scanned the news but didn't see anything that particularly pissed me off...there were some editorials that I could work up a rant about but just don't feel like it this morning. Maybe I should watch a Saturday Night Live clip every morning..I get started laughing early it is hard to work up a rant.

I have to go get some blood work done at 0800 this morning so I am sans my morning jumpstart...yeah, it is one of those fasting blood workups. With luck I'll get in and out and be back here by 0900...and then maybe I will feel like doing some banging on the keyboard. Y'all come back, heah?

I don't really have a hound on this hunt but I am on record here supporting the decriminalization of most narcotics...especially marijuana. I don't use it and I have my doubts that I would if it was legal but it just doesn't seem logical to me to continue to outlaw a drug that has not killed near as many people as the two legal drugs...tobacco and alcohol.

The 'How To Stay Young' bit has pretty muchly been my philosophy of life for years...I have always figured I was younger than my age....hell, sweetthing says I started my second childhood at forty. You want something that will just make your day? Take a look at THIS. The United States government now owes over 12 trillion dollars and the interest on that debt is over 200 billion dollars a year...but that is not the real kicker...

With the national debt now topping $12 trillion, the White House estimates that the government’s tab for servicing the debt will exceed $700 billion a year in 2019, up from $202 billion this year, even if annual budget deficits shrink drastically. Other forecasters say the figure could be much higher.

And it is going to get worse. Not only will baby boomers be retiring and expecting to get their share of the Social Security 'ponzi scheme' they have been paying into for decades the Obama administration is pushing socialized health care and some other bills such as capt and trade and some energy bills that will cost the country in tax revenue because they will close down business or force them off shore.

Is there a way to stop this madness? Yeah, there is but the public don't want to hear it. First is to freeze spending, next shitcan Obama's socialist policies, and then rescind the odorous legislation that is sending business off shore including laws that make the playing field between labor and business tilted towards labor. It will take decades but the country can grow its way out of debt provided congress will let it.

I spent some time chatting on the Face Book chat line last night with my favorite witch who resides out on the left coast and with the best Cajun cook in Port Lavaca Texas. Face Book is a great way to stay in touch, huh? Even if you never get a chance to chat on line you can always go buy and look at your friends pictures and check to see if anything exciting is happening in their life.

Speaking of something exciting in my life...not. Unless you consider trying to transfer data from a laptop to a desk top and doing hours of windows updates on a new system exciting. Mostly I am in the same old rut...but I might get out of it today and go fishing...or something. Would go to the range but ammo is too damn scare to waste..y'all come back, heah?

New Desk Top

I broke down and bought a new desk top this morning...and E-machine that is supposed to have 6 GB and a 750GB HDD. It has Windows 7 and I have been playing with it all day.

Also bought a wireless HP C4740 scanner printer which took me an hour to get hooked up and working...DAMN.

I still have to get some spy ware downloaded as well as some decent security...came with 60 days of Norton which I don't particularly like.

So far so good but it will take several days to get done what I had on my old desk top.
I need to get it fixed just so I can get the pictures off of it..damn I hated to lose them although a lot of them are saved on blogspot.

The music I can always get back I suppose if I want it.

My next upgrade is going to be a wireless keyboard and wireless speakers...damn rats nest of wires has gotta go.

I am having a hard time understanding congress. The people are against this travesty of a health bill and congress knows it yet the dim-a-crits insist on pushing it through. WHY?

At best this health care overhaul will raise the cost of health care for 85 percent of the public to pay for health care for 15 percent that now do not have it...and for the most part they do not have it by choice. Why is congress pushing this so hard?

Does the country need some health care reform? Sure...a couple of things would help considerably. One is to be able to buy insurance across state lines and put more competition in the insurance business. And of course the repeal of laws that require emergency rooms to treat any one who walks in for any gotdam reason. And then although not about health care per se tort reform would probably do more good than anything else. So why are the dim-a-crits pushing so hard?

Only one logical answer...fucking greed! Yeah, just like Obama promised before he was elected...he is going to see to it that those who have earned it are going to share it whether they like it or not.

I really don't have a dawg in the fight over wealth...I ain't got none...but I do have a dawg in the fight over my freedom and what the fucking socialists are trying to do is take it away...hell they have already taken away too much of it just by their PC laws. This is not the same country I dodged bullets for so many years ago..and probably never will be again.

The United States of America was a shining light in the darkness of this earth...offering an opportunity for success and the opportunity for pursuit of happiness. There was no guarantee of success of either but there was a guarantee of opportunity. But no more...Obama and his commie government are promising you they will tax away your economic success..even your home under the bills proposed to 'save the planet'. And as for pursuit of happiness...well, we still have the internet, at least until the government gains control of it too.

Sunday Morning Coming Down

I think I am going to go fishing today...I went yesterday for a little while and enjoyed it. Didn't catch anything but a man floating live shrimp picked up this nice sea trout in the picture. I did catch a couple of bait stealers...juvie Mangrove snappers about six inches long.

I am thinking again about getting one of those holes in the water I have always tossed money in...yeah a damn boat. After the last one, a 33'Silverton. I swore never again. Well, if I buy one this time it will be a 16 foot jon boat with a small outboard. Just something I can handle by myself and do some flats fishing out of...so may go look at some boats instead of fishing this afternoon. But then I have got this wild hair before and always changed my mind when I saw the prices...

Supposed to rain today...sweetthing's half acre needs some bad but then if I get rain the grass will grow and if the grass grows I gotta cut it...I'd rather be fishing.

Damn it is early in the morning...not even had that first mug of jumpstart...melancholy... this is depressing! maybe the jumpstart will help. Y'all come, heah?

Well, my bad luck just seems to keep on keeping on. Sweetthing's cook stove went the way of my PC and old laptop...deep fucking south. I just came back from Home Depot where I laid out the bucks for a new one....it will be delivered next Friday. Sol I reckon it will be micro wave and electric grill and fish cooking burner for a week...I can live with that. At least they will hook the damn thing up and hold off the old piece of worthless junk...save me a trip to the landfill.

November Sarurday Mornings Past

I saw a notation on Facebook last night from a relative out in Bow and Arrow country where I was reared..something about nine days in a row off but the worms had got to the pecans. It brought back memories...not of nine days off but of gathering pecans in November.

In Oklahoma along the creek bottoms where there is ample surface water and good soil pecan trees grow wild. The native pecans are not much like what you buy in the grocery market which are for the most part what we called paper shells. Native pecans are not only smaller..about half the size of a paper shell..but are some kind of hard shelled. The natives have a better taste and a lot more oil in the meat.

And there is a demand for the native pecans. Even back in the 1950s native pecans were bringing as much as 35 cents a pound...and this was in the days when a roughneck on a drilling rig was earning $1.60 an hour for slinging steel all day. A day in a pecan bottom gathering wild nuts could bring in what was a weeks pay from the rigs...tax free!

Yeah, and I spent a lot of Saturdays on my knees under a pecan tree picking up those nuts even when I was a pre-teen and later when I was older even more time in the bottoms...with my car I could get to those that I could walk to as a pre-teen.

It was gather as fast as possible and the haul butt to the general store and sell before they closed. 25 or 30 pounds was enough to fund a Saturday night date and then closing down the local beer joint after I took the date home...unless she happened to be a date that closed down the beer joint with me..LOL.

Yeah, I know...I am just rambling here. Saturday mornings cause me too do that sometimes. And you know? I don't miss the pecan bottoms much. No grass burrs in my fingers nor grass stains on my jeans. But I wouldn't trade the experience for anything...I reckon who I am today..the good and the bad is from those experiences of my youth...the well spent days and the misspent days...and I suppose those days were about equal. Heh.

For those of you who were not taught much about American history let me give you a quick lesson. During WW Two Japanese immigrants and citizens were rounded up and put into concentration camps...why? Because there were some who were loyal to the Emperor of Japan and no one knew which ones.. it was decided that it was better to be safe than sorry. Moreover, recent immigrants from Germany were watched very closely by the FBI and military intelligence for the same reasons. Was this wrong?

There is no right or wrong when it comes to war...just winning or losing and if you are not prepared to do whatever it takes to win you probably are going to lose because your enemy has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to win. There is an adage about "all is fair in love and war"...and it is a true one.

Comrade Reid is pushing for a vote on his health bill scam. Looks like it will be voted on tonight and if he can twist enough arms and use enough threats he might get a go ahead vote.

This is not a final vote...not even close to it but if it passes it will be the start to the end of the republic. Either bill, the House or The Senate, if approved will cost millions of jobs and close or drive off shore more businesses than this country can afford to lose.

The irony to me is that the health care bills are less about health care than they are about spreading the wealth...a large leap towards socialism and total government control over your life. Take a look at California and the state's financial problems..this is what happens when the public demands and the politicians try to provide a free lunch. Those who have to pay resist paying and move out and the government borrows to pay the bill until credit is gone and the state is bankrupt...and only then stops spending like drunks in whorehouses.

There is no stopping the left wing in congress right now. They have control and know where the bodies are buried and will be able to push through this travesty as well as cap and trade and the rest of the bills designed to destroy the republic. There is little we can do to stop them...the opposition has joined against them but are outnumbered and will be outvoted.

But we can remember and keep screaming! The left wing gained power via lies and making noise...the squeaking wheel got the grease. If we want to keep this republic we will have to do the same and not only get out to vote next November we must insist and insure that our opposition leaders are real and not left wingers in masquerade. Just two more anti-socialists in the senate would be stopping this scam right now. I think we can put them there next fall. I just hope it is not too late. I am getting kinda old to be fighting a revolution in the streets.

The public is starting to understand that there ain't no free lunch no matter what Obama promises. And the public is putting the pressure on congress. Congress knows damn well that there is an election less than a year from now and that if they keep on spending money like drunks in a whorehouse they are going to lose their jobs..

People, congress created this recession and financial crises with the misguided Community Reinvestment act and subsqent additions to it. The act along with community organizers such as Obama, Jessie Jackson, and ACORN extorted banks....forcing them to make sub--standard loans. The demand created because of this pushed the price of real estate beyond reason! Then the lending institutions tried to recoup and packaged and the substandard paper to others who did he same until the while dam scam come tumbling down around the head of congress.

If congress really wants to fix the economy the best place to start is rescinding this odorous act. Then shit can the health care bill, the damn cap and trade bill, and any and all bail outs of 'business to big to fail'. Then make the Bush tax cuts permanent.

Private enterprise can grow us out of this recession. People, if left alone and not taxed beyond profitability private enterprise can eventually even get the country out of debt. But business cannot do it under the current rules. No capital investor is going to risk much without know what the rules are going to be. And under Obama and the current congress who knows what the rules are going to be.

The hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast of our nation were devastating. It did not spare the houses of worship in and around the area.
One of the local television stations in South Louisiana aired an interview with a black woman from New Orleans .

The interviewer was a woman from a Boston affiliate. She asked the black woman how such total and complete devastation of the churches in the area had affected their lives.

Without hesitation, the woman replied,' I don't know about all those other people, but we haven't gone to Churches in years. We gits our chicken from Popeye's'.

The look on the interviewer's face was priceless.

California is broke and business is leaving because of the tax rate and without business taxes the state cannot continue to fund its socialist programs...especially the brainwashing programs at schools such as the University of California Berkeley.

I still believe the wisest move would to be to make deal with China..just trade the Chinese California for the dollar markers and dollars the Chinese hold. It would serve everyone right. The rest of us would see a stronger currency, the Chinese would get a good investment, and California would finally have the communism they seem to desire...and no doubt would find out soon about free lunches.

There is an easy way to stop radical Islam. And that is to stop the mullahs such as Anwar al-Awlaki who preach the hate and violence. In fact, that may be the only way to stop radical Islam. And maybe that is why God invented cruise missiles. Sending a couple through Awlaki's window might save some lives.

I saw during my time in the middle east (Turkey) that the majority were not leaders but followers. They have been brainwashed from childhood to follow the instructions of the clerics with out question. Take out the clerics and then you have a leaderless mob which is easier to contain. Hell, maybe we need to take out all the Islamic clerics and then send the mob Obama. He is not smart enough to fight a war but he can lead a mob into financial disaster and better them than us.

Looks like another one of those days that it will be light blogging from me. Several reasons but mostly my heart is just not in it today. I have been at this blog now since July 2005 and the only days I have missed were when I could not get access to the web. I have enjoyed talking to you each morning about everything from my personal life to the news with some jokes thrown in just for glee. But lately sometimes writing is a chore instead of the fun it should be...

I am not going to quit blogging but maybe I do need a sabbatical...and then hell, in an hour I may see something on the news I want to rant about and hope that my rant makes a difference to someone. But then maybe that is the problem..all the rants and the begging and the preaching has been mostly preaching to the choir and has done little good other than act as a means of me blowing off some steam.

Ripping the West in Two.

Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Shariah law on the world, ripping Western law an and liberty in two.

The emperor says he is getting close to making a decision about what to do in Afghanistan. Yeah, he has been in the orient talking to his commie comrades and kowtowing to world leaders and bragging about how fucking important he is while allied troops are standing targets for the Taliban because of his rules of engagement. He says he don't want to pass the problem on to the next president....

"Most important, he said, is that he is asking “what’s the end game on this thing, which I think is something that unless you impose that kind of discipline, could end up leading to a multi-year occupation that won’t serve the interests of the United States.”

People, are the interest of the United States and our allies being served now in Afghanistan? This country is among the poorest and most corrupt on this earth. It always has been and likely always will be. What are we proving by putting troops in harms way with rules of engagement that give them little hope of ever winning?

There are only two decisions that Obama can make that are logical...change the rules of engagement and allow the troops to fight to win. Let them call in air strikes when ever they find Taliban and blow them off the face of the earth. If it means killing some women and children so fucking be it. This is what ended the war in Germany and in Japan. War is not something fucking glorious...it is a nasty bloody business and no one hates it worse than those who have to conduct that nasty bloody business. But killing until the Taliban goes into hiding is he only way to slow them down and people, we can NEVER stop them. Radical Islam has been around for centuries and will be around as long as there is Islam. Slowing them down and containing them is the best we can hope for.

The other logical option is to just get the fuck out...pull out ever troop and cut off all the money to Afghanistan. Let the Taliban have it. Freedom is never free and it appears obvious to me that the people of Afghanistan do not understand freedom let alone want it. If they did they would be up in arms against these murderous sumbitches and stopping them. But instead they are blaming the allied forces for their problems. Fuck 'em.

So it all comes down to what I have written here so many times before...shit or get off the pot. Fight to win or get the hell out.

It is another beautiful morning on the Florida central gulf coast...a bit foggy but the sun is starting to burn it off and it will be 80F by noon or so. I have some chores hat I have been putting off...and with weather like this maybe I can figure a way to do it again. It is just to nice to be working. I had much rather sit out under the trees and think about work instead...see I am not afraid of work...I can think about it for minutes at a time.

Life is good my friends and so much better when you have an Angel of the Morning...y'all come back now, heah?

It is another beautiful morning here...sky is blue and although a bit chilly it will be 80F by this afternoon. I call this jacket losing weather...I have lost at least 25 over the years because I pull the jacket off and go off and forget it....and it is never there when I go after it the next day.

I have some chores I need to get done this morning and may spend some time in the rocking chair thing about those chores....among other things. Doubt I do the chores...the other things? Not a doubt. Have a good one today my friends...and y'all come back, heah?

So, Government Motors reports a 1.2 billion dollar loss since the company left the bankruptcy court. Those are your gotdam dollars taxpayers...

I stilll contend the best thing that could have happened was a REAL chapter 11 and a decision to allow the company to bust the UAW wide open so it could once again be competitive at marketplace. But now the union is running the company...talk about a fox guarding a chicken house.
