I just received this via e-mail from my friend Pat...I have made no attempt to verify whether or not it was written by Dr. Kaiser and if it was not my apologies to him for posting something under his name. But, the facts in the post are facts that cannot be disputed...the historical records as well as current records verify what is in the article. Please read it in its entirety and then put it on your blogs and/or e-mail it to your friends...don't worry about linking this site...just get the message out to all that will read it. Yeah, we may be preaching to the choir but sometimes even the choir needs saving...

He is a professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States Naval War College and has previously taught at Carnegie Mellon, Williams College and Harvard University. Kaiser's latest book, The Road to Dallas, about the Kennedy assassination, was just published by Harvard University Press.

History Unfolding

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it.. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) - the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially 1929 x ten... And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did - regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office, while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand - the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course,

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and .... . .. change. And the people surely got what they voted for

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It's all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors.. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

Yesterday the House of Representatives moved the country just one step closer to a communist society when it passed a heath bill funded on the backs of those who produce the wealth in this country. I reckon this was what Obama meant when he said he wanted to spread the wealth.

Some are allowing that the bill will never pass senate muster as written. Maybe...but damn few of the representative who voted for it ever read it and the weak livered dim-a-crits in the senate will do the same...the fuckin' emperor wants it...they follow blindly...so they will vote for a bill that will not only cost trillions of dollars the country does not have it will cost the loss of another million plus jobs.

Does this country need a government dictated health bill? No...what this country needs is some gotdam balls...balls enough to tell the people who had rather make payments on a new car than buy insurance that if they get sick they are on their own. I have been there and done that...offered employees health insurance via a group policy. I offered to pay half if they would pay the other half...every damn one of them turned it down. They could afford a new pickup or SUV or bass boat and that was their priority...and when they got sick they went to the emergency room and waited with the illegal aliens for their turn in line. Now the government wants those who have made the right life decisions and are earning in excess of a quarter of million a year to fund these assholes medical care...fuck 'em.

Yeah, we need to keep the social net that we have...the one that provides medical care for those who cannot provide for themselves because of mental or physical limitations and even those who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. But to penalize the productive to subsidize those who could be productive but refuse to do so is inane and can only hie the destruction of the republic.

I watched a part of the Sotomayor confirmation hearings yesterday....I was not impressed. My native American ancestors would have said "she speaks with a forked tongue" when she started trying to explain away her past racist remarks. And I was not impressed when she allowed that most of her decisions were based on precedents...
people, if all judicial decisions were based on precedents we would still have segregated schools! It tells me that she is either lying through her teeth or else is a judicial light weight...or probably both. I want a judge that will tell the assholes in the senate that he/she believes in the constitution...as written...and not in the decisions of some activist court that by fiat made a constitutional change...such as finding the right to abortion is the constitution. But in any case it is a done deal. I figure that although she is a lying lightweight who is also a racist bitch she will get confirmed. She is what the emperor wants and his cult in the senate will vote to confirm her. Moreover I am betting that there are some republicans who will drink the emperor's kool ade. But I am going shopping for some more precious metal.

The weather quack allows it is gonna be another hot and muggy day with a fifty percent chance of rain. Damn. Wish I could get one of those easy jobs like a Florida weather quack...to predict the weather just look at yesterday's forecast...flip a coin...heads there is a fifty percent chance it will be hot and wet...tails there is a fifty percent chance it will be hot and wet...and payday is on Friday.

I reckon I had best get this posted and go gather some blackeyed peas and okra for lunch. Probably have some cherry 'maters'...usually get a pint every morning of which a hand full I eat and the rest go towards getting enough to can some relish. Y'all come heah? On The Economy

Zuckerman's column today in the Wall Street Journal exposes the administration's lies about the economy. The facts are the economy is in worse shape right now than at any time since the Great Depression of the 1930s and is gonna get worse before it gets better.

So, what's the answer to the problem? Zuckerman, to his credit did not recommend anything except to say if there is a second stimulus program...

"Something that might have a real multiplier effect, not a congressional wish list of pet programs. It is critical that the Obama administration not play politics with the issue. The time to get ready for a serious infrastructure program is now. It's a shame Washington didn't get it right the first time."

And I concur. I have written my opinions about economics on this bit of shit and wit many times but I will do it one more time...

Governments do not produce wealth...but they damn sure consume wealth. (but with the American government taking over so much of business I reckon this might change...but I still have my doubts that government can produce a gotdam thing except a lot of hot air and higher taxes for those that do produce.

ALL material wealth comes originally from the earth. Someone takes a raw product from the earth and improves it to the point that someone else wants it and will barter (what else is using a currency but bartering one product for another) for it. At each level of trade the seller generally makes a profit...thus creating wealth. It is the production of a sellable (spell check says sellable ain't a word...commie bastards) product that creates the wealth.

We have become a nation where the majority of jobs are in the service sector that produces nothing but consumes a lot. Lots of reasons for that and I am not knocking those who work in services...but a country that produces nothing and consumes a lot ain't gonna last long!

There is a way to fix the problem but I don't see it happening in my life time. In fact I don't see it happening until the economy hits rock bottom and a new government is established out of the resulting chaos of rock bottom. A new government that would reestablish the constitution as written...toss out all of the judicial decisions that set the precedents of the past 200 years and start over. Some amendments to the constitution will have to be rescinded...the 16th in particular which has given government the power to tax us and the power to tax not only gives government the power to control but the power to control totally. The Federal Reserve should be abolished and the currency based on something tangible instead of congressional hot air. Hell, I had rather see the currency based on lead ingots than see it the way it is now where the Fed can put as many dollars as they want into circulation....thus giving government all the dollars they want so they can buy reelection.

I am generally against tariffs...I believe in fair trade for the most part however there ain't a damn thing 'fair' about the current system. keeping in mind that ALL wealth is generated by producing something then people in the US of A should be encouraged to produce something. And the way to do this is to keep the playing field as level as possible...instead of taxing away the profits of the producers to raise government revenue why not put a tariff on imports that compete with American producers?

One other change that will have to be made requires what back in the latter part of the last century was called 'tough love'. It means simply that people will have to be left alone to deal with the life decisions that they have made and forced to accept the responsibility for these decisions. Want to quit school before you learn a skill that will obtain you a job? Fine...but when you get hungry don't come to the government for help. Want to have more kids than you can feed? Yeah...the government will feed them but not in your house and the government will also take all that you have in excess of your 2000 calories a day to feed those kids that ain't in your house no more. Yeah..that's tough love...but it forces people to think about their decisions before...and especially after they make them.

I gotta quit this...I didn't start out to write a fuckin' book...just to link the Zuckerman article and then got on a ranting roll. Seems the older I get the more I rant...heh just think if I live to be 100! Be smoke coming from the PC...be worse than sweetthing's debit card on socialable security check day.

Congress is pissed...and I am confused. Seems the CIA had some plans to assassinate Al Qaeda leaders but they failed to tell congress and congress is now screaming about it. Hmmmm.
People, this just doesn't compute. If in fact this country is...or at least was before Obama...at war with the raghead terrorists then taking out the leaders is part of conducting war. Why should congress be briefed on a war contingency plan? Back during WW Two there were posters allowing "LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS!" and ain't a gotdam thing changed since then about loose lips...and ain't nobody in this country with looser lips than congress...well, maybe with the exception of Barney Frank....rumor is that Joe Biden knows for sure...

It is just more bullshit from the dim-a-crits in congress to take the heat off of them. They have fucked up by the numbers every since they took over in 2006...the economy has went south and the country is suffering the worst unemployment rate since that caused by the last socialist president..Jimmy Carter. Congressional approval has been low for years and is damn near rock bottom right now. This hooplah over nothing has gotten the public eyed directed off them and towards the Bush administration...at least temporarily. But they canot blame Bush and get by with it forever...eventually the democrats are gonna have to either accept responsibility for their fuckups or the public will fire them...a democrat congress person seldom admits a mistake so I expect to see a lot of them in the soup lines after the next election...now that my friends is HOPE AND CHANGE I CAN BELIEVE IN!

I am still waiting to hear what the future racist bitch in black has to tell the senate about the 2nd amendment...will any of the senators have the balls to grill her on it? One thing for damn certain...there are a lot of democrats that will raise some kinda hell if there is a gun grab...hey! One of those where it will be cooler in the shade at nine am than seven am because at nine we will have some sea breeze. I'm going out to cut okra and gather some cherry tomatoes after while and then I plan to spend the rest of the day inside under the air conditioner. Tommy Treerat and the boys have been begging to come in...but I told them I didn't have a porcelain throne their size and sweetthing was kinda particular about her carpets...and no...I ain't gonna loan them an electric fan...damn. You talk to the sumbitches and make friends with them and the first thing you know they want you to feed them and when you feed them they start to think they are family and that you owe them sumthin...bunch of damn democrats....

Pictures From A Summer Morning

I took my jumpstart to the Oak grove and decided to gather produce and take some pictures...the tomatoes are still bearing but the heat is getting to them...even those in the shade. Hope to keep some of them producing all summer but hope and doing are two different issues. The green bell pepper plants look good but the peppers are a bit smaller now...I blame the heat and Obama.

The raised beds are a mess. It is too damn hot to do anything with them right now but I'll pull weeds and cultivate when I dig sweet potatoes in October. There is a black eyed pea bed in this mess that is producing. The Kentucky Pole beans bloom but the heat shrivels the bean before it can mature.

I learned something about elephant ears...give them plenty of water and sun in good humus type soil and they will flourish! I put some bulbs in this rose bed because I didn't have anyplace else to put them...the bed has two foot of cow manure compost in it that I mixed in with a couple of yard wagon loads of oak leaves a couple of years ago. RICH soil now. Need the whole place done like that....maybe I'll get a couple of cows...

And if this action does not yield sufficient results, Cab Drivers will be next, followed by DELL and AOL Customer Service Reps. Finally, if all else fails, they have threatened to send us no more candidates for President of the United States !

Do you remember what Bill Clinton did when the pressure was on him over getting blown in the oval office? Yeah, he bombed hell out of a hospital in Africa somewhere to get the news media heat off of him for a few days. Well, the dim-a-crits are taking a lot of heat right now over their wild spending, the economy, and the way they are dragging the country into socialism. So what do they do to take the heat off? BLAME BUSH, of course. Their rabid anti-American followers rejoice, the media jumps through the congressional hoop like a trained dog, and the public hears nothing about congress is trying to fuck Americans and everything about how the CIA lied to congress. GOOD GAWD GIRTY WHAT A GASH! People, if you believe a gotdam thing that the democrats and rinos in congress say I'll sell you my share of Government motors....cheap.

The senate will start going through the motions of questioning the emperors first selection for the Supreme Court today. Sotomayor only has two qualifications...she ain't white and she is a woman. Other than that she is an obvious light weight who has had half of her judicial decisions overturned by the Supreme Court. There is no doubt in my mind that she is a racist and a socialist and one of the Obama cult followers. And there is also no doubt that it is a done deal unless there are enough people out there with the guts to tell the democrat and rino senators that if they confirm her they best be looking for a new job next time they are up for election. I do fear for the republic my friends...judges such as Sotomayor will destroy what we have left of our constitution.

Looks like a nice morning on sweetthing's half acre...I have not been out yet...still sipping on my second mug of jumpstart but as soon as I get this posted I am gonna take that mug to the easy chair under the Oak trees and chat with the tree rats and maybe have a word with the creator. I need to ask her if she is gettin' a kick out of the shit Obama and his kool ade drinkers are pulling...and if she is allowing this as a punishment or is she just letting things take its natural course. I suspect the latter because I have my doubts the creator ever takes a personal interest in much that humankind does. I think she put us here with the brains to take care of ourselves and told us "get 'er done". So any ills we have in society we have then brought upon ourselves and damn near all of those ills comes from what I consider the source of all human problems...remember what ole Moses told the Hebrews? "THOU SHALT NOT COVET!" But in any event I do blame the creator for humans coveting what ain't their's...if she hadn't a give us brains we wouldn't have sense enough to do it...damn shame that a dumb ass redneck like me can figure that out but a brilliant lawyer sitting in the oval office can't.

Sunday Morning Coming Down

Naaa, I'm not late getting up...nor did I go fishin' but I should have...just late getting on line this morning. It is a beautiful morning on Sweetthing's half acre! Not a cloud in the sky and just enough sea breeze to make the 75F air temperature pleasant. I took advantage of the weather and did some chores...such as gathering enough blackeyed peas and okra for my dinner as well as a quart of cherry tomatoes that I added to the gallon in the doublewide that I need to work up...maybe this afternoon. Pleasant mornings are rare this time of year. Usually by daylight it is 85F and muggy...sauna kinda weather where a half hour in it requires a soapy shower to get off the salty sweat. Hell, this time of year sweetthing washes my hats every couple of days to get the sweat salt ring out of them.

The rain has been good for the flora I reckon...at least the weeds. The raised vegetable beds that are no longer producing anything are grown up in weeds over knees high. I need to pull them out and cover the beds with mulch but it is just too damn hot. maybe in the morning if it is another nice one.

I'm trying to cook my black eyed peas this morning the way my maternal Grannie used to prepare them...boiling them with a garlic pod and some pork sausage. Well, it won't be exactly like Grandma's..she made her own sausage and what I used is made in Miami...probably by illegal immigrants. Heh...now ain't that a twist on fate...my Grandma was a Choctaw and I reckon they figured the white eyes were illegal immigrants.

Ya know, humans ain't never satisfied. Every winter I wish for summer and warmer weather and then when the dawg days hit I wish for fall and cooler weather. heh. I reckon no where is perfect, huh? Some say that the southern coast of Kalifornia has perfect weather..ya know? The San Diego area. But the only time I was there I had to carry a rock to knock people out of the way so I could walk down the side walk...too damn many people and too much bother carrying the rock...

I reckon I'll go ahead and ruin my good mood and scan the internet news. Saw some on Fox Cable News this morning but I was sucking that gotdam nebulizer and it makes so much noise that I just got pieces of it...Obama is on the tear trying to justify the bad economy and still blaming Bush..heh. Eventually people will see that this sumbitch ain't wearing no clothes and when he does put on a suit it is empty.

It is wet outside...too wet and I hope we do get some 'stronger sun' this morning to dry the grass out enough so I can get it mowed. The part that is seeded in Bahia grass is knee high with seeds that stick to the hair on my legs when I walk through it. The centipede needs cutting but is not as bad. I can cut it all wet but it does ball up under the mower and I don't get an even cut.

Anyway...don't get me wrong...I ain't complaining about the rain. This is Florida and this is the monsoon season and rain is not only expected it is for the most part welcomed. The sand won't hold it long and a week without rain and the 'gym conditioned' sun will have the sand powdery and blowing and plants dying because of the lack of water. The tree rats will be drinking the water out of the bird bath instead of peeing in it and the birds will have to do without a bath and start emulating the French and cologne up. Yeah...without rain the place will smell like Paris...like dirty birds wearing perfume.

As you can tell I'm in a good mood even if it is early in the morning. I woke up feeling pretty god and would have felt better if sweetthing hadn't a handed me that gotdam nebulizer. But I used it...as always...ate that handful of pills that I gotta do before she will give me my first half liter mug of jumpstart. It has become a routine...I sit down in my recliner and about the time I get my finger pricked to check my blood sugar level Little Sister (aka DONTGOTDAMIT!) jumps up and cuddles in beside me. Sweetthing prepares and hands me the gotdam nebulizer which I start to suck on while I watch the local news and weather...or read whatever book I am into. If I finish the horsepiss in the nebulizer I get my first mug of jumpstart without any nagging ...after I wash down the pills with a cup of water. Then it is my dry rye toast and twice a week I get to have a cackleberry. Sometimes I think I need to get a life...and then I remember that if not for this routine I wouldn't have a life...and everyday above ground is now a good day.

I ain't looked at the internet news yet...no doubt something in it will spoil the good mood so I may not...hell it is Saturday...and a good wet morning is a good time to go check out a few garage sales. Too wet to make hay anyway. Y'all come heah? The jumpstart is good and hot and the air conditioner keeps this doublewide nice and cool.

I reckon I'll be pimping my ride next week. I wouldn't let the topper go with the Red Ram...they wouldn't give me any more for it and damn if I would give it to them. So, wheh I left there I went by a place that sells toppers and traded it for a nice set of nerf bars that will get installed Monday. I don't think I am gonna get a topper this time...maybe some kinda sliding cover that I can lock but I like to be able to use the over head rear view mirror...those toppers do restrict vision. I still have to get a bug shield installed as well as a trailer brake system...damn. Ain't nothin' cheap either...

I did manage to call and get the Sirius radio activated...free service for a year...if I find that I like it and use it I'll keep it activated...

Went back to the Dodge house this afternoon and spent another couple of hours dickering...finally got the deal I offered to begin with...knew they could take it if they wanted to sell the vehicle. Sumbitches tried hammering me and I walked...told to drive that White Ram up their collective butts and go get me the keys to the Red Ram....instead they too me to the business office where they already had the paperwork with my offer printed out for me to sign. GAWD DAMN! But having been in the business I know its an act...I am just the better actor.

BULLSHIT! People, if you want the security of this country compromised all you have to do is put it in the hands of the democrats. Damn right the CIA has programs they don't want congress to know about because if congress knows about them they are no longer secret. All is quiet right now on the home front...but about an hour ago it sounded like a war! Thunder booming like M80s and lightning hitting somewhere near...knocked me outta bed. Weird weather again in Florida...afternoon storms are hitting us before daylight...seems like the creator lost her TIMEX. But so far it ain't rained enough to give me waterfront property...Al Gore lied like a hound dawg, huh?

I'm gonna go cut okra and gather cherry tomatoes in a few minutes before the rain hits us again...supposed to be a front moving in off the gulf all morning and the forecast is wet...and wetter. May have me some blackeyed peas and okra for lunch with a piece of boiled yardbird...still on this ass kicking diet...but I shy 18 pounds of blubber since I started on June third...blood sugar is okay and I noticed in the shower yesterday that I could see my dick...

Reckon I had best get started doing something constructive like horticulturin' before the rain...y'all come back, heah?

Busy Day

It has been one hell of a day. Got the results on my blown out knee...it is blown out..multiple small tears and something called a 'Baker's Cyst'...whatever in hell that is. Got me an appointment with a bone cutter next Thursday afternoon to see what can be done about it.

After we left the quacks place I went by the DIdge house just for grins and giggles...they called me last week and told me they was gonna make me a deal I could refuse...and I told them then it would have to be one hell of a deal for me to buy anything from Government motors...it wuz. I may be driving this new White Ram with a HEMI...got for a few days to decide. I like the hemi engine...runs like a turpentined cat and the truck doesn't have any of the bells and button I don't want but always wind up paying for anyway. It does have the tilt/cruise and power windows/lock that I like and a simple AM/FM CD player sound system. I know I swore that I would never buy another Dodge after the bail out fiasco but as always I should have never said never...and what the hell..sweetthing does her part to stimulate the economy at Wally World and I might just do my part buying a new White Ram. And I do like the idea of a lifetime power train warranty...but I always wondered about that...do it be my lifetime or the lifetime of the truck whichever comes first...

Anyway, it took four hours of dealing and finagling before I would even agree to drive it home...now I'm tired and some grits and hen fruit sound pretty good.

Sweetthing did a count this morning...we have filled eight cases of jars (dozen per case) with stuff to eat so far this season. I think I'll pick up another three cases of jars while I'm out today...got a gallon of 'maters' to do something with and my black eyed pea patch will have a gallon plus of peas to pick by Monday. Kinda want to pickle some more okra and I know I'll put up at least another fifty pounds of peaches while they are still in season and priced reasonable.

DAMN it is raining hard outside and I gotta get out of here soon. I reckon the Red Ram will dry out if my clothes get it wet, huh?

And the slaughter has begun. This country (the US OF A)has the memory of a fuckin' barnyard goose that wakes up in a new world every day. This looks like Vietnam all over again...the left wing has positioned the country for a humiliating loss in Iraq...the loss of a war that was mismanaged from the beginning. The military, who has to fight a public relations war at home against the commie bastards, was at the point of victory...and that is an indication of how good this military is. Now the ragheads are gonna kill each other along with all the Americans they can get to. I don't give a shit if they kill each other...one less raghead on this earth is one less that we might have to shoot later. But it does piss me off when even one American soldier gets shot at...let alone injured or killed. Once again I tell you that if a war is not worth giving all we have to win it ain't worth fighting.

War is about killing people...the more the better and the faster the better. The idea is to cause so much death and misery that the enemy figures that it is better to submit than die....hell, that is the way Islam swept the mideast and much of the rest of the world...submit to Islam or fuckin' die! Why do American leaders think that our country should fight a war any different?

Some of us had the solution shortly after Saddam was captured...we should have slapped his ass around a bit and then put him back in charge of the country and told him to kick some butt. And let him know that if he got to gotdam big for his britches we would pants his ass again. And by the way...we want a shit load of oil, okay? Problem solved.

So what now? get the fuck out of Dodge before more get killed. Why the hell keep 80,000 plus garrisoned up doing nothing? Not only does it cost valuable defense dollars it puts the military in a defensive position. Let me explain another thing about a fight...a good defense might keep you from getting a black eye for a while but if the fight is pressed to you and you don't go on the offensive with all ya got your gonna suffer a knockout....it is time once again for the White House to either shit or get off the pot...and so far the sumbitch has only farted.

Okay...my rant for the morning...and I have an idea a hell of a lot of you old soldiers who remember the Vietnam Fiasco will agree...I am having less and less respect for a government that will half step me into war, refuse me the tools to fight with, and then not let me win. It is raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock! Has been off and on since early this morning. We got about three iches of rain yesterday and more is forecasted for today and tomorrow...HELL! LET 'ER RIP! I am 13 feet above sea level and my neighbor has a boat. Might have some waterfront property yet, albeit temporary...

Me and sweetthing have places to go and things to do today...I get the bad news (maybe good news...naaaaa)...about my blown out knee at nine this morning and then it is off to take care of 'bidniz' with a sidetrip to Sears, the carwash, and some other errands. Probably be out most if not all of the morning...and hope we can get back home if the rains continue.
