The energy efficient improvements must be done on your home, principle residence.

If you make the energy efficient improvements to your second home or rental/investment properties by installing solar water heaters, solar panels, small wind energy systems you may be eligible for tax credits under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The max tax credit that is allowable is $1,500 for all of the energy efficient improvements you make, except for the instances where you installed : geothermal heat pumps, solar water heaters, solar panel arrays, fuel cells, and small wind energy systems. These items are not subject to the $1,500 cap and eligible for a larger 30% tax credit. Special provisions apply to fuel cells and building a new principle residence. But, it took so long and I became easily frustrated and realized (Lightbulb) why don't I take some of my own time and create a Blog so that people like myself who do not have the time to do searches on the internet can find all the info they need all in one spot. Inbox Flooded With Craigslist Spam

Over the past several weeks, my inbox has been flooded with spam by a site called "Profit From Craigslist". I have been getting at LEAST eight to ten emails daily from this site that is trying to sell me software. Supposedly this software gives me "insider access" to the secrets of how to use Craigslist. Give me a break!

As most people do, I get junk mail in my inbox regularly. It has been a long time since I have received such a barrage of spam from one company on an ongoing basis. The site states that it is not endorsed by Craigslist. From the site:
"Craigslist, USA Today,CBS News, Entrepenuer Magazine,Business Journal does not sponsor, endorse, nor is in any way affiliated with Online Business Systems, LLC™ or this promotion. "

In my opinion, Craigslist should look into this because their name is being shoved in thousands of people's faces in an annoying manner. I bet a lot of recipients don't click over to the sender's site and just associate the unwanted swarm of spam with the Craigslist site itself.

Note to senders of this spam I keep getting: STOP now! I am going to start reporting it if it does not cease immediately!

Imagine my surprise when I found the content of my post (including the picture from the post) on some other blog! The words were jumbled up a bit and links were put in for ads for Viagra! I called out the content thief here and you can check it out if you want, but the real story here is how to put a stop to sploggers.

As I often do, I turned to my fellow bloggers on Blog Catalog for advice on how to proceed. I was met with humor, suggestions and support. Can New Search Engine Cuil Possibly Compete With Google?

Cuil is a brand new search engine that is aiming to compete with the giant of all search engines, Google. Cuil (which is pronounced "cool") was invented by Anna Patterson who left Google in 2006.

Supposedly, Cuil's index is much larger than Google's and that it scans at least 120 billion web pages. Cuil's search results are based on completely different methods than Google's and delve deeper into the content of web pages.

Search results presented on Cuil look very different that they do on Google. They are presented to the searcher in a more "magazine" style format along with lots of pictures. I tried it out using the search term "Flugpo", and it came up with 9,400 results.

This is what really caught my interest. I read that "Cuil is hoping to attract traffic by promising not to retain information about its users' search histories or surfing patterns — something that Google does, much to the consternation of privacy watchdogs". Considering how much Flugpo values privacy, I can respect that!

Does Facebook Have Any Ethics At All?

Facebook decided to remove the knife icon from its "Superpoke!" application, after receiving many complaints. The knife icon had the word "shank" next to it which is a street term for "stab". Members could "shank" anyone with a Facebook profile after which the other member would get a message notifying them that they had been "shanked". Nice, huh?

An article on the Telegraph.co.uk entitled "Facebook condemned for allowing knife crime game" quotes John Knox as saying "The stupidity of having this on their site is unbelievable. And they deliberately use the street term 'shanked', which is even worse. They are targeting the kids who are on street corners carrying knives."
