I stitched a few photos together to make this image. It gives it a subtly impossible perspective if you look closely at the 3 main objects in the picture - which makes it kind of interesting.

Clementine season is here. My mom hooked me up with a hand-full of these little guys last sunday and I just love'em. This is one that fell victim to an impromptu photo shoot.

On a similar note - I shot these pomegranate seeds the day before.

Needed to make myself scarce while My sister breast fed Teagan. I'm still not too comfortable with the idea of exposed sister boobs. I guess I'm afraid it might somehow affect how I feel about non sister boobs and we can't have that. I know -- I'll grow up soon -- or not. Anyway it led to a nice sunset family dog photo op. I heart Sidney.

Disconcerting

This Big Ass Spider - may he rest in peace - tried to overrun my apartment last night. He blocked off the kitchen by spinning a web across an eight foot section of my place between a tripod and a soft box. Check out these pics. If anybody can identify this guy please let me know. I still have chills. It was a mighty battle. Check out the full size versions - you can see his beady little eyes.

Grant Park + thousands of people + Star Wars = FUN. Yes, it was packed - and although we weren't late we still didn't get good seats, and yes - everybody else had lawn chairs that we couldn't see over, and yes - Han shot second (BOOOOOO), but it was still fun to hear x-wing fighters and Wookies roar through the streets of Chicago

So I just watched the movie Bad Education and inspired by Pedro Almodovar I thought I'd take a few photos of the photographic process - and since I was in the process of pushing 2 rolls of TXP to 1600, at 4 am no less, the opportunity arose and - well here you go. In reality I guess I'm just killing time while my rolls dry in the bathroom / film drying cabinet. Anyway - I love movies about movies. Its a strange but common occurrence, I've found, for film makers to make movies about movie making. I guess when your creative outlet is so intriguing that you find yourself writing about and filming it - your in a pretty good place. In a similar respect, although maybe to a somewhat lesser degree, I find myself thinking more about the photographic process as an art form. Especially as it becomes so rare. Maybe I should start photographing people as they photograph or document the magic that happens in a traditional darkroom. On second thought - best leave that to the PJ contingent. I find myself already bored with the idea but somehow movies about movies still get me excited. Its late.

BlogAssist

So, Dashblog seems to work well - but i just found this little program called BlogAssist thats just indispensable. Basically, it takes text copied to the clipboard (such as an image url or web page address) and adds that info as a value to the html code of your liking. It is then automatically copied back to the clipboard so you can paste it to your blog post. It really saves time - especially when adding images and links to your posts. I highly recommend checking it out. It comes with some basic commands built in such as, Web link, email link, and image, but it allows you to create your own. For instance, since I'm now using Dashblog and hosting my pics myself - Blogger no longer creates a small blog friendly image that links to a full size one like it did when I uploaded them from the site, so I created a little BlogAssist command that adds my chosen image url value to some html code that takes my image and reduces it to a 200px height and then links it to the original. All that is now as easy as copy and paste instead of a minute or two of typing. Lets try it!

A Strange Occurrence

Over the past few weekends strange things have been happening. Some of my friends have been finding their way to Rogers Park and actually sticking around to hang out. I've lived here for about nine months and pictured here might be the second or third occurrence of my "near north" sider / suburban friends enjoying the fine couchless hospitality of my cozy apartment. See how we hang on Megan's every word. "Arrested Development this - Arrested Development that, I don't like movies but I have a cool t-shirt - Arrested Development bla."

Well, my attention has once again been diverted. My sister just had her baby a month premature and I haven't had time to develop any film yet. My new niece is named Teagen and is 4.2 pounds and healthy. Baby photos will be coming soon and very likely in abundance.
