I am having a glass of the Saint Laurent Riesling right now and am really enjoying it. I have also purchased wine for friends and family and everyone who has received it as a gift has been absolutely happy and thankful for the wonderful wine and the way it was presented to them, wrapped with a card personally from me. It has been a delight to have Jennifer when I go to pick up my wine; she always welcomes me with a happy and kind hello and a caring smile. She is a wonderful part of Love Washington Wine. She is helpful, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. This has been a fun journey so far and I plan to continue enjoying my wine club. Once summer is over I may switch to a different club just to spice things up. This will allow me to try more than whites and maybe open me more up to reds. I have tried many of the whites and have enjoyed them all but I definitely have my favorites. Thanks Love Washington Wine and Jennifer for being so helpful.

WineSpritzerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05330160812052927217noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-13198599101372059532008-05-28T10:10:00.000-07:002008-05-28T13:30:42.266-07:00Illinois CustomersGreetings,

The Love Washington Team regrets to inform our Illinois customers that as of June 1, 2008 because of the new Illinois state laws that go into effect we are no longer able to ship wine to consumers in Illinois.

This is a sad day for Love Washington Wine as we are losing some of our best customers.

Please if you have wines you would like to order from Love Washington Wine order them this week so we can ship them to you before June 1.

Thank you Illinois customers and hopefully soon we will be able to ship wine to you again.

Jenniferhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08661756437647944230noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-7121890924277086612008-05-02T11:06:00.000-07:002008-05-02T11:08:24.727-07:00Love Washington Wine NewsGreetingsWine Lovers,

I am pleased to announce Love Washington Wine is now Licensed to ship wine to consumers in Nebraska and New Hampshire! I have done this with Brian for years (I do rely on his palette for finding the good stuff). Brian has selected great wines from established Washington State Wineries that year to year produce consistently the highest quality wines in the world. He then pairs them with up and coming wineries of similar quality and potential.

This has really been a lot of fun and is a very enjoyable way to watch the state’s production of high quality wine improve over time. With that in mind Brian created our wine clubs operating the same way. He selects some of the most noteworthy and established wines in the state and is paring them in our clubs with up and coming “new” boutique wines from across the state. He then makes them available in our online store.

The best value for our customers is to join a wine club and enjoy 15 – 20% discounts on orders from our store all year round. The absolute best value is to join our Premium Wine Club with the quarterly shipping method (we extend 20% discounts to our club members whether they select either the monthly or quarterly shipping options). This discount offsets the cost of shipping and makes our wines very competitively priced. When ordering from our store, if you order 4 or more bottles the discount from club membership combined with the discount UPS gives us (which we pass on to you) provides the best price per bottle I think you will find just about anywhere and is how I buy my wine.

If you are in the Wenatchee Valley you can pick up the wine at the Love Washington Wine Outlet at 611B N. Wenatchee Avenue and skip the cost of shipping all together.

Love Washington Wine Clubs are the best way to experience the best established and new wines from our beautiful state. Visit our wine club pages at https://www.lovewashingtonwine.com/site_content/WineClubs.aspx . Brian just posted our May selections! Once you find what you like visit our store and enjoy the benefits of your club membership with 15 – 20% discounts automatically extended to club members.

Mark Bolzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16332378424310684102noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-44198904572097867792008-04-09T22:35:00.000-07:002008-04-09T22:39:31.857-07:00Greetings From Our Wine BuyerGreetings Wine Lovers,

As of late there has been a tremendous amount of activity here at Love Washington Wine and it is time to catch you up on what’s happening! First, we have added several new wines/wineries to our web store. Check out our new offerings from the renowned Washington State Vintners, Andrew Will, Dunham Cellars and Woodward Canyon! I am very excited about Dunham Cellars 2006 Shirley Mays Chardonnay…a great Washington Chardonnay with fruit sourced from the acclaimed Dunham Cellars Lewis Estate Vineyard. Eric Dunham has not only created a fabulous Chardonnay but he has very graciously decided to donate a portion of his profit to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a foundation dedicated to breast cancer awareness, education and research. Take a look at the foundation and enjoy the Shirley Mays story. Andrew Will wines have been receiving tremendous reviews…not a surprise given the exceptional year to year consistency that Andrew Will has been celebrated for. I would love to hear some feedback from any one that has had the opportunity to experience the Sorella and Champoux from Andrew Will.

We have received a bit of the Boudreaux Cellars 2004 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. This incredible Washington Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from 100% Champoux Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. Just read Rob Newsom’s tasting notes at WWW.lovewashingtonwine.com and you will want to experience this wine. This is one of the strongest Cab’s I have tasted! Wonderfully drinkable now but will get better and better if laid down for 7-10 years. I would recommend becoming a member of the Love Washington Wine Love Premium Wine Club, not only will you receive a bottle of Boudreaux Cellars 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon to taste in your first shipment, you will be able to pick up a couple of bottles for your cellar at an incredible (our company president lost his mind) 20% discount. Did I just mention wine clubs? Go to our web store to see what you will miss if you don’t sign up for wine club soon!!! Seriously the Boudreaux Cellars 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is in extremely short supply and likely won’t be available after the spring.

If you have not been to our web store you are missing out on the opportunity to view the incredible art work on Woodward Canyon’s often collected 2005 Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon. You will be blown away by the “click here for x-large image” feature on our site.
Another bit of incredible news…we will be offering Abeja Cabernet Sauvignon and Abeja Chardonnay very soon (expected arrival 04/16/2008). For those of you that really know Washington wine and value exceptional Cab’s the addition of Abeja definitely excites you. If you are just learning about Washington wine and or are looking for an incredible highly sought after Cabernet Sauvignon you too just got excited about Abeja. Look for it late next week!

Cheers see you soon, Brian

Brianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05209876914040470042noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-62846252220681134202008-04-07T10:52:00.000-07:002008-04-07T11:32:21.398-07:00Love Washington Wine AnnouncementsGreetings Wine Lovers
I have some exciting announcements.
We've been working hard on the shipping compliance paperwork and are now able to ship to Wyoming! We now have extra large images of all of our wines. When hovering over a wine bottle you will see the image enlarged. Looking at the upper left corner you will see a hyperlink that says “click here for x-large image”. You will then see a near life size high resolution image of the bottle of wine. Customers asked for this because they wanted to confirm information on the label such as vintage. We do not substitute vintages here at Love Washington Wine what you see is what you get! Please check out our site in the next couple of days to see what Brian has selected for the club shipments on April 15th.

I am very pleased to announce the addition of three new wineries Andrew Will, Dunham Cellars and Woodward Canyon. These are truly some of our state’s best wineries and we are proud to offer them. You can read more on these wineries in our news section at http://www.lovewashingtonwine.com/news.aspx . Brian is working on some new selections that I am sure you will enjoy.

Mark Bolzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16332378424310684102noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-14676583797411414902008-03-21T17:07:00.000-07:002008-03-21T17:16:28.731-07:00Hello Wine Lovers!
I just added 7 new wines from three wineries, Andrew Will, Dunham Cellars and Woodward Canyon. I hope that this will happen again soon. Martin-Scott Winery has some of the most magnificent wines. I especially love the Riesling. I noticed wineman34 asked about it too. He is right, it has been on the site before and I know for myself that I hope it comes back sooner than later. I also read that Brian has been out and about working on the development of the wine list. I have known Brian for years and I have so much faith in him that he will bring us some very exciting new wines. Way to go Brian! I look forward to seeing and trying what new wines you will help bring to Love Washington Wine. I completely agree with Brian and that is that we are all wine experts in our own way.

WineSpritzerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05330160812052927217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-20805554543064667282008-03-12T18:18:00.000-07:002008-03-12T18:23:17.650-07:00Greeting from our Wine BuyerGreetings Wine Lovers! I have been on the road and busy with the development of our wine list. I want to introduce myself. I am a food and wine enthusiast with over twenty four years of experience in the food and beverage business. I have worked in restaurants, hotels, retail, catering, wineries and other licensed alcohol retail establishments. I enjoy creating food and paring food with wine. I have been referred to as "chef" although I do not have classical training in the culinary arts or wine. My personal wine favorites tend to be blends such as Bordeaux style blends, Italian blends like Super Tuscan's or artful blends from master wine makers like Brian Carter or Ray Sandidge. I also enjoy the classics like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Barbera, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese. My palette craves big bold reds like Boudreaux Cellars, Horan Estates, Ryan Patrick Vineyards to name a few. I believe that wine is very personal and we are all wine experts! Tell me what you are looking for in a wine and I will see what I can find!!!
Brian
Wine Buyer
Love Washington Wine

Brianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05209876914040470042noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-28351492658019553522008-03-12T08:52:00.000-07:002008-03-12T08:54:09.276-07:00More White Wines Please....I had a glass of Ryan Patrick last night and it was very tasty! The night before I tried the Pinot Gris from Chateau Faire Le Pont. It was also wonderful! I really enjoy white wines and would be excited to see more on Love Washington Wine. I know in the past the site had a Riesling on it but does not now. I hope a Riesling or 2 will come back on the site. It is a great treat to have a glass of wine after a long day. I am also looking forward to trying some of the reds. On a side note I must say that it is also fun to get a $25.00 gift card for signing up for a Wine Club. Thanks Love Washington Wine.

WineSpritzerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05330160812052927217noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-10301970059461938882008-03-11T18:36:00.000-07:002008-03-11T18:37:07.657-07:00Ryan Patrick HappeningsI met with Terry Flanagan today to talk some wine businesses. Terry is the owner of Ryan Patrick Vineyards one of our favorite wineries. In our discussion I learned about some exciting news. He is looking at moving his Leavenworth tasting room to another location in Leavenworth. I won’t steal his thunder he will announce the specifics when he is ready but he has an even nicer location in mind, I am looking forward to visiting it when it is ready.

He also talked about the 2007 vintage. It has been in the barrel long enough for Terry to get a sense of where it is going. Early indication is it is on par or perhaps slightly better than 2005 which was a great year across the state and at Ryan Patrick Vineyards. He is expanding his vineyard this year and next which is exciting.

We finished the day with a quick discussion of auto racing a mutual interest of ours and he hit the road. It is always great seeing Terry he always has something going and is fun to talk to. I will see if we can get Brian around the 2007 the next time they taste.

Mark Bolzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16332378424310684102noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-78685967362894176982008-03-11T17:54:00.000-07:002008-03-11T18:39:16.184-07:00New BloggersI asked our Operations Manager and CTO to start posting what they are planning, thinking and doing for LWW. This blog is important to me to get feedback and keep the good stuff coming.

We will post often and want to hear from you. Love Washington Wine is AWESOME! I have ordered wine for myself, my friends, and also joined a wine club. It has been a lot of fun trying new wine! I have truly enjoyed every kind that I have picked out. My friends have been so excited to receive wine in the mail and have also enjoyed what I have picked for them. I am new at trying many of these wines but you can not go wrong on Love Washington Wine. It has been a fun experience and I am so excited for the wine club to start. I plan on using this site frequently for myself, my friends, and family. What a wonderful gift and a nice surprise to give remarkable wine to people and it is sent directly to them. I have also done the will-call process and it has gone very smoothly. Way to go Love Washington Wine. At Love Washington Wine in addition to finding the best our state has to offer and getting it to you, we developed the technology used at http://www.lovewashingtonwine.com/ . This way we can control the experience you have with us and always improve it. Chris will jump on the blog to let you know where we are heading technically and to solicit your input on what you would like to see done better or what you would like to see new.

For now, based on your feedback Chris redesigned and implemented a new checkout process, wine club signup and process and redesigned My Account. Due to an increase in our sales volume and to the fact Love Washington Wine became a licensed retailer we needed to move to a new facility and obtain a license from the Washington State Liquor Control Board. We successfully accomplished both and are back online rebuilding our inventory and adding some news wines over the next couple of weeks.

Why did we become a retailer?

Our customers wanted a larger and more diverse selection of wines, becoming a retailer allowed us access to more wines within the three tiered system in Washington State. The licensing complexity of our old business model required in order to comply with state and federal rules became a limiting factor in obtaining wines for sale.

We decided to become a retailer just in the nick of time! The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned 8 of the 9 rulings in the Costco case keeping most of the three tiered system in tact in a ruling just last week. However, wine lovers do not despair, at the same time states are starting to open up to out of state retailers such as Love Washington Wine. We are applying to several states to ship directly to consumers and will activate them on the site as soon as we receive permission to do so.

Mark Bolzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16332378424310684102noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1459657350989346585.post-14214240437830802762008-02-08T17:17:00.000-08:002008-02-08T17:21:26.049-08:00Hey Wine Lovers here is something new!Greetings Wine Lovers,

My name is Brian and I am the Wine buyer for Love Washington Wine.
