Ladybamboo in English

Today Augustinus and myself spent the morning and afternoon translating the German version of the Ladybamboo website into English.

The german artist Peter Dietmar and his friend Wolfgang Widmoser, also an artist. David Kuiper (Rotary Ubud), Grace Macairan Tarjoto, Ayu Suter. All of these people are involved in the Ladybamboo foundation.

Our teacher is also taking a class
All classes were guided by Balinese teachers. We worked on mask paintings, basket making, flute playing, and balinese traditional dance. At a different location some other students worked on bamboo painting.

Peter Dittmar is a German artist based in Bali for the last 20 years. He was our guide in the ARMA museum. His paintings can also be seen in the ARMA museum.
This is a beautiful museum located in a very scenic area. It is one of the most famous museums in Bali and is home to many well known works of art.

We went out in Kuta and saw a bit of the nightlife. It was a very fun day and night. It was also nice to see the busy town of Kuta, as oppossed to the sleepy town of Ubud. By midnight we were back up the hill to Ubud.

The tour was great!!
We used very old Volkswagen cars and drove around the western side of the island. The cars were open topped so we could take photos anytime. It was a wonderful way to see the countryside.

We came late to the performance. It was a great show and we got to meet the dancers after it was all finished. In Padang bai we went on a boat trip, the snorkling was great!

Padang Padang Beach

We didn't quite guess the tide right and ended up being on the Padang Padang beach at low tide...oops

Dreamland..one of the most beautifull beaches in Bali

We ended up staying all day on this beautifull beach. We missed our trip to Uluwatu temple, but the BBQ at the Ye Ye restaurant an Dreamland was great!! The sunset was even better!!!

After all day in the sun and enjoying the beach, we headed back up to Ubud. We didn't make it back until 11:30, we were all pretty exhausted.

Today our study tour to Ubud begins. After weeks of preperation we are looking forward to getting there.

Ladybamboo donates computer Lab

We have to admit, that our social and educational activities started last year in summer with the generous donation of three German sponsors came after the bombs last October nearly to a standstill - but our Balinese friends have not given up.

So today we celebrate the official opening ceremony of the first Computer Training Center for Teachers in Bali located @ SMU 1 Payangan, Giayar Regency, Bali.
