The restaurant was the owner's livelihood and he was not able to retrieve anything from the building. I have been searching but have not been able to find out how things are going for this man and his employees. I have e-mailed the Sydney Morning Herald asking them to follow up on this story.<br />-----The search for survivors....<a href="http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7011518952">carbon monoxide gas poisoning at a Chinese coal mine.</a> 21 dead so far. I have not found any further news coverage of this (since July 6)...I hope that there were no further victims (and, of course, that more survivors were found).<br />-----Patrick Swayze...who seems to be doing well with his cancer treatments.<br /><a href="http://www.timesonline.com/articles/2008/06/28/news/top_stories/doc48655cdfbe8db634507160.txt">-----John Challis, a young man who is fighting hard against liver cancer. </a>He is fighting harder than anyone I have ever read about. His story made me cry.<br /><a href="http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b143721_amy_winehouse_has_emphysema_dad_says.html">-----Amy Winehouse has emphysema. </a> From what I understand, it is in the beginning stages. I am worried for <a href="http://www.stuff.co.nz/4619097a1860.html">Amy's father, who has been taking care of her, has been having panic attacks (and actually collapsed).</a><br /><a href="http://news.trend.az/index.shtml?show=news&amp;newsid=1229575&amp;lang=EN">-----Tornado in China (June 22)</a>....several injured,one dead and many have to be relocated.<br /><a href="http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=295489&amp;FS=">-----Funny Car racer Scott Kalitta has died</a> in a terrible accident.<br />-----Flood recovery in the Midwest<br />-----The <a href="http://money.cnn.com/2008/05/23/news/economy/vallejo_california.ap/index.htm">city of Vallejo, California has need to file bankruptcy. </a><br />-----The family and friends of Maria Sue Chapman (daughter of Steven Curtis Chapman). Maria was only 5 and died in a tragic accident.<br />-----<a href="http://www.lifenews.com/bio2323.html">Another Terri Schiavo-like case.</a> This has been no where near as long, she is not brain dead,not on respirators or anything like that and had a baby after her injury. Her name is Lauren Richardson. <a href="http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080218/EDITORIAL/864194763">Terri Schiavo's brother speaks about Lauren's case.</a><br />-----<a href="http://www.christianlovestories.blogspot.com/">Kristy Dykes</a>, author and fellow blogger,has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Recently, the doctors said that she only has months left and she is being cared for by Hospice...it seems that she is getting sicker VERY quickly. Kristy is being very brave. I encourage people to leave supportive comments on her blog...for Kristy and her family/loved ones.<br />-----<a href="http://www.especiallyheather.com/">Heather is fighting very hard against brain cancer.</a><br />-----A beautiful <a href="http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&amp;friendID=244623351">baby named Kayla passed away</a> after a valiant struggle with cancer. On her Myspace there are details of various campaigns on her behalf for Childhood Cancer Awareness/Research/Cures...please visit.<br />-----<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/manchester/7233228.stm">Jenny Lloyd</a>, a little girl who has a rare disease where she can be literally scared to death.<br />-----The family and friends of Lorraine Allard. <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/womenfamily.html?in_article_id=510308&amp;in_page_id=1799">Lorraine passed away after delaying cancer treatment in order to give birth to her son.</a><br />-----That Madeleine McCann is found soon.<br />-----Heath Ledger's little daughter...who will grow up without her Daddy. :-(<br /><br /><br />Note:<br />This post is in no particular order. Prayer/thought requests just go to the top as I hear more about what is going on. If you can think of a way to help these people, PLEASE do so.
