Well wouldn't you know it. I missed the deadline for the last day of the photoblog every day in October by about twenty minutes though. It was worth it though. Had a jolly ol' time with the gang at Wallbangers then at the Races. Kung Fu Panda was there. Not the real deal though. She was in San Benito. That would have been a good picture but I didn't get it.

So since I missed the time I won't post a picture. It was hard doing this. I thought I would become a better photographer because of this but that didn't work!

What will be the next gimmick blog thang huh?

Luke came down to work on a roof and to preach at our church this week and since tonight is his last night here before heading back to North Carolina we took him out to Wallbangers and for a little Rip Stiking.

He had never heard of a Rip Stik so when we asked him to try it his response was more or less....Do What?

As you can see in the photos, I had to hold him up like a 6 year old girl trying to ride a bike for the first time.

It looked like he had fun and I know I sure did.

Two Ships Passing in the Night

There are moments in this life where I am left with amazement and wonderment. I am sure there are certain marvelous man made structures or beautiful landscapes that cause amazement and wonderment in all of us but I am referring to those moments in life when you just sit or stand still and for that brief moment you think, "wow". Not because of an object in front of you but of the path your life is going or where it has been and the people that were in it.

I had one such moment recently. It was so brief that hours after it happened it was forgotten about until a small conversation I had with Juan brought the memorie of that moment back. In fact, the title of this blog came from him.

I have said in the past that I wear my heart on my sleeve but I don't remember that I have ever said that I can get lost in my emotions to the point where nothing else matters. I don't remember that I have said that I can get lost in a person to the point where noone else matters. I can remember where my whole world revolved around just one person. When it didn't matter how far or for how long I had to travel just to be with that person. When the only thing that made me happy was being with that person.

I can remember when seeing her afar off meant no matter what I was doing she was more important, but now that time has passed and now that time has healed all wounds I can see her and, just like two ships passing in the night, we can go on our seperate courses without the world stopping just for us. It was a brief moment like that which left me in "awe" because no matter how much had changed up until that moment it was still okay and I was able to just smile about it to myself.

No structure in the world can be so amazing to me as the life, the events, and the people that God has put in my life.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. I don't have a picture for you today and this is not a thousand words but I am glad you read this far.

Power Washing the Deck

This is the third time I do this.

When I got the house I power washed it but never put any water sealant on the deck so it got very ugly again.

A few months ago I started to power washing it again but half way through the electric power washer went out. This time around I borrowed a gas powered washer. Aside from running out of gas one time it workred great.

This time around I hope to put that water sealant. :-)

She sure is lonely in there but she has plenty of room to stretch. Sometimes she sleeps on one side of the bed and at other times, like tonight, she sleeps in the middle so she has her room to stretch. Sadly she has been sleeping with her eyes wide open.

For now the bike on the wall keeps her company.

I went by my moms today after visiting Rob' daughter Nadia in the hospital and my mom gave me a box with a few of my things in there.

And what do I find in there? Some more Elvis memorabilla! I totally forgot about these but once I saw them I remembered them.

I am pretty sure Rob got me both of these items. The Pepsi from when he used to live in Missouri and the plate from a trip to Vegas. The Pepsi is sealed but yet there is very little Pepsi in it. What is up with that?

So, will be adding it to the collection. :-)

Twentattic

Above my garage there is plenty of space to create a another room. Maybe a game room? Office? A baby room?? Yeh right.

I had lunch with my friend George and he was estimating it might cost around fifteen hundred dollars to do this. That is not counting labor! He also did not have the measurements so he just went by what I told him. So it is a guestimate. Time to start saving! I am also taking donations.

Eighteen

Maybe you seen these pics already on Jaiku but I thought they were blog worthy. The Vette needed more work today and after a long walk to the parts store things started to fall into place. Rob was able to pick me up at the parts store and save me a walk back. I thought the Vette needed a new battery terminal since the one that was in there was spinning and spinning.

Turns out it was the starter. We took it out and had it rebuilt. While that was being done I hung out with Rob and his baby. Rob dug holes and I fed the baby. I also helped holding some boards but mostly baby sat. :-)

Once the starter was rebuilt the Vette came back to life! I also fixed a ground wire for the amp powering the speakers that had come undone underneath the car.

I started doing laundry and cleaned up the work bench which is the last pic.

Mellowing Out on Day Seventeen

I love me some Mellow Yellow.

To bad they don't sell it down here. I remember when I was a wittle kid they used to though. I fell in love with the drink in Dade City, Florida I believe.

Some time last year I got a case from the Laiklams and the Kincaids and what a flashback of flavor that was!

Not to long ago, up in Mission, TX they opened up a Cracker Barrel and wouldn't you know it, they sell Mellow Yellow!! Or Yellow Mellow as the green waitress said. I have only made it out there one time though BUT tonite on the way to Wallbangers we cruised up there to go to the Candy Apple store and I asked Juan if we could stop by the Barrel to get a Mellow Yellow. To my surprise he did! The picture shows what I paid!! I didn't get a picture of the SMALL glass. It was worth it though. Flashbacks are priceless!

This other black thing is actually a USB Battery Pack for things like cameras, phones, PSPs, MP3 players and such. Picked it up at Circuit City with a gift card! It's small and very light weight and made by APC, the World renowned maker of battery backup units for all kinds of equipment. Should work good is what I am trying to say.

Someone once said that if aliens are looking down at us they are probably thinking that Dogs are the masters and we are the servants. We feed them, we bathe them, and we Scoop Thier Poop!

When I lived in Austin I used to take my bike down by the lake and cruise it and that is when I took this picture. A little ways down the line is a statue of Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I really miss Austin. Only God knows if I will ever go back there to live. I always said I wanted to make my life up there but life is passing me by already!

Flight 13

Ok, I am pretty sure that is not Flight 13. :-)

I took this picture on December 7, 2002 while I was working as a Skycap at the airport. This was around the time I got my first digital camera. I have always loved this picture and I sure wish I had taken it at a better quality.

I hear that the Skycaps are not even allowed down there anymore. That is a shame. I used to be able to go all over the place at the airport and it was a fun time. Even though I saw flights come and go, day in and day out, I still have a HUGE fear of flying.

I'll get over it one day.

Pool Ten

This here is a UT Austin Longhorn Pool stick that I bought at Academy. The plan is to also get the Aggie stick also so that when we play we can say its head to head college tournament. One Down, one to go.

Day Nine - Work bench

This is my workbench. I have worked on a few laptops lately and these chairs that I got at Furniture Row in Mcallen come in handy since there is no room on my desk.

I really hate working on computers after hours but laptops I do like messing with. Mainly because they are light, portable and don't take up space.

That white "screen" you see in the background is my "temporary" screen for the projector. :-)

Eight is not looking Great

What you see here is my messy mess of a messy office. I had to empty out two of my storage rooms to make room for a new doctor so a lot of my stuff was put into my office. I cleaned it up today before I left but this is the before shot! I'll have to add an after shot once its cleaner!
