I absolutely love this place!

Earlier tonite, was their Holiday Open House, and it was really fun to visit, see some of my yoga instructors, and get a free 10 minute massage - aaaah!

I really love what this place represents!

A healthy lifestyle. Holistic healing. The arts of Yoga and Pilates and mindful living. They say to leave your worries at the door and enter in!
Here here is what I say!

Soulista offers Pilates, Massage, Yoga and Meditation -- all under one roof - my personal favorite class that I attend weekly is Meditation and Mindful Living, with Gina Sandgren. She is one amazing lady, and already, I look up to her and all she's accomplished in her life. She knows how to carve daily time out of her life, for just her. To meditate. To be still. To unclutter.
I want to get there too.

Movies movies.
There are so many great movies made out there!!

I enjoy watching dvds of movies, at home, and love watching movies in the theater too. Nothing like the big screen!

Tomorrow, two GREAT movies in my book - are being released on dvd --

UP by Pixar Studios! Such a great movie.. even if you're not a fan of computer-generated movies, this one will move you! Such a great story.. had me laughing and crying, this one really touched my heart..
THE UGLY TRUTH starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. Loved this movie.. I saw it twice in the theater and both times, really enjoyed it, all about the differences between men and women!

I love both of these movies for very different reasons!
Will I get them for my at-home movie collection?

Probably.
Why not?
When it's a movie I love, why not watch it over again? Makes for a great evening of entertainment.

Denver Was Great, But Now -- Home Sweet Home!

I'm back home fr Fargo -- although I had a great time in Denver, it's always good to get back home.

Sure the weather is cooler.
Sure there are no majestic mountains to the West of my house.
And all the new coworkers, new friends I met, we're all back in our respective States, at home with our families.

My trip was wonderful! I loved the sights of the Denver area.
I loved getting to know my coworkers and the law enforcement officers I work with.

It was interesting to learn more about my job here in Fargo.. and learn all about the BIGGER PICTURE. The trip helped to make me feel like a real part of the team -- everyone was so nice!

And the best part??
I have the day off tomorrow.. AND I'm getting a pedicure... AND it's payday!

In Colorado - First Day of Training!

I made it safe and sound into Colorado yesterday!

I relaxed in the hotel's hot tub twice yesterday, read and relaxed and got settled.

My co-workers arrived shortly after 4pm, so we ate together and hung out last nite in the bar area watching football and the Yankees. It was nice getting to know people I'll be talking to on the phone regularly at my job in Fargo.

Here is an outside shot outside my balcony outside my room.
I took this one yesterday, while the sun was still shining.. as you can see, most of the snow has already melted... sweet! (at least on the ground anyways!)

I'm up early this morning... although my alarm was set to 6am, I woke up at 5am, must be that time-change thing or something... had my shower, and I'm sipping coffee, ready to go! Gonna meet some of the guys downstairs for breakfast later and start my day!

On A Jet Plane Tomorrow!

Today has been a relaxing day.
Getting up around 4 am tomorrow - THANK GOD! for an extra hour's sleep tonite! - having a shower and finish adding to my suitcase then head for the airport around 5am. Flight leaves around 620 am to Denver.
Early early!!

Short two hour flight, then I'm getting a ride to my hotel.. hoping for a real early check-in when I arrive.. hope I get a chance to get in my room early so I can unpack and relax and maybe have another shower or take a nap to wake up! LOL

I'll be attending some training Mon-Wed, with my co-workers and meeting some people I've talked to on the phone, but haven't met in person yet! I'm looking forward to it. Should be fun!

Back on Wednesday evening.
Back to work on Thursday and Friday.

I have a feeling next week is gonna fly by.
I'll be updating and posting some pics when I can. (It might not happen till after I return home)

Going to Golden.

Soon, very soon.. I'll be flying to Denver CO for a few days for some training for my job.
Looking forward to it, never ever been to Colorado before!

We're staying in Golden CO. Yeap.. that's where they got dumped on this week with all that snow... forecasts show temps there warming up.. so I'm hoping most of that white stuff will be gone by the time I arrive!

I fly in Sunday, and we have training/meetings all day Mon/Tue/Wed and I fly back on Wed evening. All of the guys from the office are driving down, I'm the only one from Fargo that's flying. It's a short two hour flight, so not that bad.

I'm looking forward to meeting in person.. some of the people I talk to every day.. people from North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Utah, and Colorado! Should be fun!

I'm even gonna try and meet a Facebook friend I haven't met yet, for dinner one night.. hoping to.. that would be way fun!

And I'll see if I have time to enjoy the hot tub, you never know! Note to self: Pack my swimsuit!

I'm looking forward to it! A few days away will be nice.
Plus I love meeting new people -- should be fun, despite the work!

Are You Being True To Your Creative Essence?

I posted this on my other blog here, but I wanted to make sure all my other blog-readers saw this too!
Such wisdom.

My friend Jennifer Louden shared this today:

I believe you have a creative essence and your job in life is to listen to what the creative essence is and express it.

Not just at work or to make money or in traditionally creative ways but with your whole life.

I believe your job is to keep pausing and listening to what is true for you and then giving yourself permission to own, and when relevant, share that truth.

And you know what I find?

That this is one of the most difficult things to do.

It's what you are born to be and yet, sometimes, it seems like everything conspires to make it so damn difficult.

Oh well. What's a gal to do?

Some days, you've just got be a warrior for your self.

Some days, you've got to choose to wrestle with the inner voices and fears that say, "You can't feel that! You can't acknowledge that feeling, idea, impulse."

You've can choose to resist the outer voices who want you to do what they want -- not because they don't love you, but because they have their own fears running them or simply their own preferences and needs.

You can decide to turn away from what deadens you -- shadow comforts, time monsters, endless shoulds, the constant speeding-up and complexifying of life -- and towards what strengthens you, what lights you up.

Self-care helps makes all of this easier to do. When you are exhausted or depleted, it's pretty hard to have to courage to resist, to choose, to listen.

I get stuck in the washing machine of faulty reasoning which consists of an endless cycle of "I can't take time for self-care because there is so much to do."

Just for today, let's put that lie to rest. (pun intended).

(It's what I am personally trying to do -- by joining Yoga classes and discovering more about Young Living Essential Oils!)

Let's remember, together, that pushing and beating ourselves up only gives us bruises and that being true to our creative essence requires courage and energy.

That's just the way it is. Time to be courageous.

Why resist the truth and keep living as half yourself?

I'll be asking myself that this week. I hope you will, too.

Library Score!

Today after work, I had some older library books to return, and of course, I found a bunch more to bring home and read in the next few weeks! You know me.. I love to read. I love to write.

If I could -- I would have a room in my home with floor to ceiling shelves filled with books!!
My very own library in my home, with a comfy sofa and chair. There would be books about all kinds of things. Fiction. Non Fiction. Biographies. Self-Help books. You name it. I love having a bunch of different books at my fingertips at any given time.

There is so much joy to be had from cracking open a new book and reading its pages.
So much joy!

This time -- I focused on some easy reading - a few books to take with me to Denver when I travel on business next week, and some great books all about Yoga, Core Training, and what it can do for not just your body, but for your mind and soul as well!

I can't wait to read and learn more about yoga and how it's gonna help my quality of life. I'm so looking forward to my classes I start tomorrow here at Soulista!
My weekly schedule is gonna be something like this:

Tuesday Beginners Yoga 630 PM-730 PM
Wednesday Slow Flow Yoga Noon-1 PM, and Intro to Meditation & Mindful Living, 630 PM-715 PM, Meditate in Harmony 730 PM-830 PM

I want to live my life more mindful!
More healthy!

And being as introspective as I am,
I just know I am gonna love yoga.

My Sunday and More!

Today, hubby and I are off driving my girls back home to Canada.
Weekends with them always go by way too fast. That's the sad part for me.

They have school tomorrow, and I'm back to work tomorrow!
I've got the go-ahead for my trip to Denver, so I know I'll be flying out on Sunday Nov 1st, a week from today! I'll know more details this week!

Here's what I'm looking forward to:

Seeing/visiting with my mom and her hubby Gerry in Canada later today.
Reading some new books I'm bringing along for the drive.
Learning more about my trip to Denver this week, at work.
Starting my Beginning Yoga, Slow Flow Yoga, and Meditation classes this week here at Soulista!
Happy I found a great yoga mat yesterday at TJ MAXX!
Receiving my kit and introductory items from Young Living this week! See my Essential Oils/Young Living blog here!
I'm slowly getting into the Christmas spirit.. already, I've found a few things for some people on my list! Good feeling! Can't wait to put up the twinkle lights and the decorations up in my home!

My girls are with me in Fargo this weekend, and so far the day is great!
It's not raining! LOL Yay!
The girls are working on their homework, and I'm busy reading, blogging, and just learning.

My kind of day.
Today what's in store is maybe a movie, some homemade chocolate chip cookies, and a full turkey dinner for supper!

Relaxing tonite watching some television.. the girls wanna catch up to Glee!
And How I Met Your Mother -- fun shows!

Tomorrow... traveling up to Canada to bring them back and see my mom and her hubby!
The weekends always fly by. Why is that?

Something New -- For Me!

As some of you are aware, I've started a new part-time job in downtown Fargo. I've gotta admit, although I love the job and the people I work with, I'm not a big fan of getting up so early in the mornings. Mornings come way too soon! LOL

Yes, I started this job -- for me!
I wanted more independence, and wanted more spending money, either to save or to spend on some of the things that are important, and valuable -- to me. I wanted to have more freedom, for if I found something that I loved or interested me, I could just make the decision and DO IT!

As I get older, I understand more and more the importance of looking after yourself, and valuing the person you are on the inside. I understand the need for a deeper spiritual self, and the need to go deeper on a spiritual level.

I've always been introspective.
I've always understood the value of true inspiration.
I've always been the woman that needs and craves alone-time and meditation.
I've always been a person who wants to understand my authentic self more.

I understand the value of a peaceful and calm life.

I want to get healthier. I want to lose some extra pounds. Hubby and I are hoping to get a treadmill over this winter. Motivating myself to do any physical exercise has always been a struggle for me. It's sometimes easier to remain lethargic, isn't it?
So now.. at the start of my new job here.. I've decided to do a few new things --

Soulista is located close to where I live and work in nearby Moorhead, MN -- and since visiting them earlier today, I've been really inspired and impressed!
I met the owner, Darcy -- earlier today after work, and as she showed me around and shared more of what they have to offer me personally -- I was really motivated to get started!

They offer varying classes all week long, and offer some really competitive pricing! I've decided to sign up for $45/month for 12 months, meaning unlimited yoga and meditation classes! This is something I wanna do for me. For me! Along with more physical activity via our treadmill when we purchase it, I think this is a very good thing for me.

I've always been a soulful, introspective person.
I've always meditated in my own way.
This is the natural progression.

Oh No! My Wish List is Growing! LOL

I was at a local event here in Fargo today, and had so much fun learning and finding out about new ideas and products -- so fun!
One thing that caught my eye was a display all about TROLLBEADS.

I'll admit, I've always wanted to have one of these bracelets. Always.

But now, as I get older, I think it's something I'd really love to have. I'd love the chance to collect different beads that I like, or have special meaning, and create my own bracelets on a whim using the bracelet chain! The possibilities are oh so endless!

Seeing my daughter Sara for the first time, without her braces! Since she got them off yesterday! I see them next weekend!
Going on a 1-2 week vacation sometime, somewhere in my future, all-inclusive, somewhere hot where there's lots of sand, sun and blue water. Aaaaah. (Why are winters in Fargo so long?)

Denver-Bound in a Few Weeks -- Really!

Today was my first day at the new job at Fargo's downtown Federal Building.

I'm working in the offices of the Federal Protective Services Division of the Department of Homeland Security. I know I'm really gonna like it! Click here for my prior post.

So very different than where I've ever worked before, but so far, the office environment is great and the guys I've met so far are easy-going! Working 8am-Noon M-F is gonna be perfect for me!

I found out today they want me to attend a Conference in Denver Nov 2-6th...meaning I'll be flying out of Fargo on Nov 1st. I've never been to Colorado before.. so close to the mountains.. so that will be fun and exciting! I for sure, will be taking my camera!

Until I learn more about my day to day duties, and until all the security clearances are done.. for now.. I'm just getting to know the people and various aspects of my job.

So far, I'm loving it! I know I'll be able to dive right in more once all the security hurdles are behind me. That will be a great feeling! Hope the whole process doesn't take too long.

For now though, I'm excited I'll be in Denver for a week in November!
It's somewhere I've never been to before.
I'm genuinely looking forward to it.

My First Day.

LOL I'm up way earlier than I'm used to.. it's true...
But I'm starting my new job today, and I'm really excited to see where I'll be working and meet the people I'll be working with.

You see, I had my interview in a hotel lobby last week, so this will be the first time I'm going into my place of work. I'll admit, it's different from any other job I've had.

Usually, when you interview with someone for a job.. you go to where you'll be working, and you meet someone that you will see everyday on the job. This isn't the case with me.

The woman who interviewed me flew in to Fargo from Colorado. She told me about the job, and I aced the interview! Yes.

I'm really excited to be starting.
Excited to see the people, the place I'll be working!
And find out where I'll be parking daily. Downtown, there are no free lots. Today, hubby is driving me in. Hopefully I'll hear more about where I can park. And hopefully, it won't be too far from the building I work in. For some reason, trudging through sidewalks full of snow in the middle of winter doesn't excite me.

(I'll post an update about my 1st day on the job in a future post!)

Cheese, Anyone? Deal of the Day!

The other day, hubby and I ventured into a local thrift store to look around, and sometimes, when you go into these kinds of places, you never now what you will walk out with. This was one of those times.

Did I need this item? Was I looking for this item? No and no. Of course not.
But nevertheless, when you see a good deal - well, as women you know - we indulge!

I came home with this beautiful single cheese dome complete with perfect wood-stained bottom - in perfect shape! It look almost exactly like this one - except I only paid $2.99 for it!
You gotta love when you find a bargain!

And let's face it. We like cheese. All kinds of cheese. Nothing's better than some great cheeses with some crackers and wine. Yum. Yum.

So that was my deal of the day yesterday! For $2.99 - I came home with this!

I got the job I wanted and start this Monday at 8am!
I am beyond thrilled!

The interview I had yesterday morning went well and I knew I would love the job!
It is a 20 hrs/week Federal government permanent position at the Department of Homeland Security - Immigration and Customs Enforcement office here in Fargo.

I knew the competition would be tough for this kind of job.
Entry level position with great pay. No weekends. No holidays.
It's exactly what I've been praying for! I didn't really know what my chances were but I knew with my prior job experience, I knew I could handle it. I was just hoping I made a good impression, you know?

I got the call today! So so happy! This job works perfectly for me and my life!

You see, every summer after having the summer off while my girls are here with us for 1/2 the summers -- I would always have to go back to find a job every fall. I didn't like that very much.

With this position, I won't have to.. my hours should be 8am-Noon, M-F... meaning I'll be back home shortly after noon in the summer every day, perfect for spending time with my girls!

I wasn't looking for a full-time job.. I was praying for a 20-30 hr/week position, and I got it!
4 hours 5x/week or 5 hours 4x/week - the hours are flexible -- I'll learn more when I go in this Monday! So so thrilled!

I'm still pinching myself.

Glee=Joy

I've been so enjoying the new show on FOX this season --
called GLEE.

Love the singing, the music, the talented young people.
It makes me wanna go back to high school again! Well, almost. LOL

We never had a glee club in my high school. There was a drama department, where we put on annual musicals, but that was about it. No Glee club. That would have been fun. I so would have been there. I so would have been there!

I think all of us would welcome more joy in our lives, wouldn't we? I know I would. Lately, I've been focused on job-hunting. After spending the summer with my daughters, now's the time to find a job for the rest of the year!

I've been applying for jobs, going on interviews, and still --nothing.
I'm hoping that news will turn around soon.
I had a great interview yesterday and I'm really hoping I get the postion. It's a federal government job here in Fargo in downtown Fargo Federal Building, working part time as a clerk in their Homeland Security Department. I'd love it, and the pay is pretty good to start! Plus it's only 20 hours per week, it's perfect for me! No holidays, no weekends.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Hoping for some real GLEE in my life soon.
