Im back, actually I have been back for almost a month now, thus the no new post. I have been filming a lot and covered a few thousand miles by car, but I have not had (made) the time to edit any of the new videos. so, for those of you who enjoy watching my crappy little (sometimes too big) videos, I will have more soon.
I am hitting the road next week driving up to Portland and after a few days there, I will start my major trip around the US. I have a car, new tent, new sleeping bag and I am ready to travel.
so stay posted.

Last weekend I went on a retreat with my work. We went to the east coast of Korea. We stayed in a Pension, which is a rental house in the country, near the beach. We had to pass a couple of dog farms on the way to it, one had a sign, usually they don't, the sign translates to, 'fresh dog, duck and chicken meat' It is sad, but it made me think, what is the difference between that, cow, lamb or even rabbit, they are all cute animals. Psychology is weird, but anyway we went to some nice temples and rode a cable car up a mountain, that's in part two. We ate raw fish, and grilled clams, scallops and other unidentifiable shells. It was fun.

Hey it snowed! Okay I know that is no big deal, but this is probably the last big snow I will see in Korea and what else is special is that this snow happened while kids were on winter break, so there are kids everywhere playing in the snow and making snowmen, so it was a cheery fun snow day.

Kim Bap

Kim Bap is like a sushi roll, but Korean and treated as the national sandwich. You can buy them everywhere and they cost 1000 Won ($1 us). My first reaction was that these are just trashy California rolls, but now I am addicted to them and eat them all the time. They are usually: egg, Krab, Ham (or spam), radish, spinach and carrot wrapped in rice and seaweed. But you can have them add: sesame leaves, cheese (processed cheese food product), Kim Chi, or Tuna (tuna salad out of a can with mayo). The tuna I think is icky.

This is kinda old, because I couldn't get it published because it was too big and well I am getting ready to leave South Korea for good and my mind has been else where besides the blogosphere. sorry. I have tons of stuff to get up of the last month here, but there may be a lapse coming up as I move my belongings back to the States and prepare for my six months of traveling around the US and maybe a few other countries around there, but Im not sure yet.

The Yellow Book

At this book store in Heyrie art village, North of Seoul, They had an exhibition of books and in one case was The Yellow Book, All of them! I was so excited. There were 13 of these published and they were literary magazines, from the turn of the 19th century. The cover art was done by Aubrey Beardsley. He also did the cover of The Savoy, which was another and well I was so happy to see these for the first time in my life.

They gave me a bunch of kids to look after who were bored with sledding, so I took them to ride rides. Here we are on the Rodeo. I love how 70's this one is. Watch for the K girls who work there in cowboy outfits dancing.

Everland is the Korean Disney. It is a sorta big theme park. They have snow sledding and an indoor waterpark and of course rides. We took the kids from school and had a blast.

there is this stuff served in many a restaurant in Korea that is rice soup/tea stuff. Basically they boil off the burnt on stuck rice and then serve it. Luckily this is free. Very bland.

Last Day on Bali in Ubud

On the last day on Bali we stayed in a swank hotel in Ubud and 'went to town' cause the hotel was way out in the middle of rice terraces. But, the pool was voted one of the top five most beautiful pools in the world by some magazine, and I must agree it was a nice pool.
