Osten Gets His Hair Done

Osten wanted his hair dyed black. So mum decided to let him. We are on

Tristan is Getting Swordfish

Ever since we went to Spain and Tristan tried swordfish he liked it.
He has always been asking if we could get it. So finally today when
all the children and myself where walking past the fish shop and I
said to Tris 'come on let's go ask if they ever get swordfish'. So of
we went in and I told the woman that Tris had a question for her and
he asked for his swordfish'

Lone and behold after asking her husband they came back through and
said yes we can get some if you want. Tris is well chuffed that he is
getting some and we have to go collect it on Friday.

Poppy Wants Lelli Kelly Shoes

Poppy has seen the adverts for Lelli Kelly shoes and has been saying she wants a pair. It is my first day back to work from holidays and Poppy always becomes a daddies girl when I am on holiday. So today Erin told Poppy that dad has to go back to work and she was not happy at all. Erin told her if you want Lelli Kelly shoes then dad has to go to work to get pennies for them.

So when I was leaving for work Poppy gave me a kiss and said bye, then told me how I had to bring her a pair of Lelli Kelly shoes home. What a cheeky little gem.

Last Day Out Before Back to School

Today we took the children out this afternoon because it was the last day before they go back to school. Tristan had a birthday party this morning at Rainbow Castle but as soon as he was back we went out.

It started of just going for a drive in the car out the back roads as it was a nice day. The kids are so city kids you could say as Osten stood in some mud and was all yuk. We ended our journey at Plus Garden Abbey and it was lovely out there. Tristan though for some reason asked do the monks go to the toilet outside? We took lots of pictures while we where out there and have added them to our photo section.

More About The Shoes

Just to add a wee bit more about the shoes. It is now the next morning and both Tris and Pops took there new shoes to bed with them and lay them where they could see them and have now both come down stairs at different times with there new shoes on.

I hazard a guess that they are both very chuffed with there new shoes. Finger's crossed that Osten's new shoes might arrive today.

New Shoes All Round

Today all the children got new shoes. Osten wanted some that he saw on eBay so we bought them for him and he has to wait for them to arrive. Tris and Pops though we took them down the town for shoes.

I made a wee video of all there shoes. As you can see Osten got a pair of Airwalks and Tris got a pair of Skechers Airators and Pops got a pair of Fifi Flower Tot shoes. They are all chuffed with there new shoes and Os can not wait to get his.

Bumper Tomato Soup Crop!

Tristan is a great fan of tomato soup so we told him that he could start growing his own in the back garden. A few weeks have gone by now and he is starting to see the product of his labour and this morning he has just been out and managed to squezze out his first bowl full of fresh tomato soup. The only problem we have now though is that he has only one plant going and as quick as he eats it he will have to start growing more plant.

Good on you Tris you worked hard for it and now you have seen the end result.

Busy Busy Busy

Sadly we have neglected this blog a bit the past while but it has been busy for us. Right now everyone has been ill except for myself and today was the first day back to school for Osten since Tuesday. Tristan has been of school since Wednesday and might be able to make it tomorrow but we will just have to wait and see how he gets on tonight. Poppy on the other hand has been ill now for about the past two weeks and we had to get the doctor out to see her on Tuesday as she was so ill. Today is the first day that she has actually been a bit perky and actually speaking and having a few laughs. She has been sick with this stomach bug for two weeks and is just starting to show signs of it going away now. Erin has done a grand job looking after three sick kids especially since I have been working most of the time as well.

On a happier note the kids had a great Easter and got lots of chocolate eggs but since they have been ill they still have loads left. Tristan turned five as well and had a wonderful birthday and a party for some friends at Lunar Land.

Granny, Granddad and auntie Amy came to visit as well on the weekend of his birthday and Tristan really enjoyed having them there. It was a good weekend and by the time it was over we were all shattered.

We have lots of pictures to add for you and over the next few day I will start to add them for you. Once I have them all added I will send out the usual email to everyone on our mailing list.

You might have noticed as well that my mug is now showing in the blog profile as the top right. I have been playing around with the settings for the blog. Posts that have been made by me now have my name after them as well as I have set up an account for Erin so once the children stop being sick and we have some time I can show her how to write blog posts herself to add them here.

We hope you all had a happy Easter and did not eat to much chocolate.

Osten Drops a Gem

You know when you say something and straight away you realise that was a stupid thing to say? Well Osten just did a good one yesterday morning. The post came and in it was a magazine addressed to him. So I gave it to him and asked "have you been putting your name and address in things online?" to that I got a "no, i did not". To then be asked by Osten as to why he had got this magazine about lizards with his name on it? I told him maybe your mum had ordered it as a freebie and had forgot to tell him. Wait for it! Ostens reply was "how did mum know my name and address?". I just stared at him with a face of trying not to laugh and you could see the penny drop and he said "oh that was stupid".

If you want a good one liner you can rely on Osten.

Erin Has Been Painting Again

Erin was painting again on Friday. This time it was the hall and as you can see from the picture it is a nice terracotta colour. She did a really good job of it and it took her about seven hours to do two coats.

Needless to say her legs were hurting the next day.

Fairtrade Night at Cubs

Last night at cubs they had a night about Fairtrade foods which is all about making sure the farmers get the best deal for there produce. We had to go down and they put out a tasting table full of Fairtrade foods for us to taste and see if we liked. Surprisingly the chocolate was not the first to go but the bananas went first.

Afterwards they played a game were if you was tagged you had to stand in a star shape and was not allowed to move again until someone crawled between your legs. Then it was the end of the night and the lowering of the flag.

Tristan Yet Again at Dentist

Tristan again had tooth ache and we had to call the emergency dentist. I took him down to find out he has a hole threw to the root in one and they have put some medicine in the hole just now and covered it with a temporary filling just now and has to go back to get it fixed properly. If the medicine has not worked though he might need to get it pulled.

He was a very brave boy though and sat well for the dentist.

Mothers Day

Sunday was Mothers Day here in the UK. We started the day off with giving Erin breakfast in bed with flowers, chocolate, home made cards, Ostens home made trinket box he made at cubs and a DVD that Erin asked for called Monarchy which is a five part BBC documentary about the royal family.

It was a busy day though as Tristan had a birthday party to go to and then Osten had church to go to with cubs to celebrate Founders Day.

Once Osten was home though we took Erin out for dinner as well to Brewers Fayre where the kids could run and play and we could get a good meal as well. Then it was home and baths all round for the children and of to bed early as it was school the next day. Then Erin put on her new DVD.

Tristan Just Loves to Roll Down Hills

We were all out today walking Toffee and letting the children have a run at the green park as Tristan calls it. We got to the small hill behind the high school and as usual Tristan just loves to roll down it.
