Are you thinking of hosting an event? The planning doesn’t have to be difficult. With so many online resources available you are sure to plan an event that will meet all of your expectations. If you’re considering hiring an event designer be sure to hire the right one. Many planners offer a variety of services from a referral program to a full service event design with food, flowers and music! Interview a planner or talk to local people in the area and find out who they would recommend. Most planners are willing to customize an event planning package that fits your needs. At Soirée Productions in Park City, we make ourselves available 100%. Our online studio is available 24/7 for people who have the time and don’t mind planning an event on their own. Vendor referrals, online portfolios and all of the contact information you need including links to vendor websites are available. You will benefit greatly and plan an event of any size and budget with these resources. For those of you who are “hands-on”, the Soirée studio also opens its doors and offers the public the opportunity to visit the studio and view vendor portfolio’s there while asking a Soirée planner for advice and suggestions. This service is complimentary.

Here are some suggestions to plan your event:

1. Prepare your budget: Many budget templates are available online.
2. Review vendor portfolios.
3. Let your vendors know your budget.
4. Don’t fall in love with an idea that isn’t necessary and already in your budget.
5. Conduct a menu tasting.
6. Prepare a timeline for your event. Include delivery schedules, set-up and strike
7. Confirm all vendors and provide them with a copy of your timeline. Be sure it matches the amount of time that you have contracted.
8. Hire a planner! Not because we are planners but because you will thank us for the advise. You want to be a guest at your own event. Let a professional coordinate the details and let you enjoy your event.

For more planning tips Soirée Productions offers monthly planning classes to help you get started. Take advantage of these types of opportunities and learn from the experts. Topics include setting your tabletop, pairing the right wine, selecting a band for everyone, seasonal floral and more. Classes are open to the public and offered the third Thursday of every month beginning at the Soirée Studio at 6:30 pm. Refreshments are always offered and special door prices are available to the first 25 attendees. Reservations are required and can be made by calling at least 4 days in advance 435.655.2943.

Soiree teams up with Orchid Dynasty for a Winter Wonderland

Shelly has done it again. The Orchid Dynasty team worked with us to create a beautiful winter wonderland full of sparkling crystals, lots of snow, and a sleigh ride. Can you hear the bells ring? It was a magical night. The guests enjoyed a sleigh ride during cocktail hour and were invited to enjoy a Peppermint Patty or other hot drink to stay warm. Later the guests enjoyed a dinner provided by the wonderful chefs of Empire Canyon Lodge in Deer Valley. The cake was unbelievable and Letty Flatt and her bakery couldn't have made it look any better. The snowflakes were glistening. Everyone danced the night away. A beautiful and magical day for Christine and Jeff! Just look at these incredible photos by Sarah Drown of Sparkle Photography who was able to capture every memory for them. Congratulations.

Finding the "Write" Words with Personal Verse

Look who we found! There is someone for everyone. Do you need help writing your vows, a toast, or a special poem about your life together? It isn't about what to say, it is how you want to say it. Putting your thoughts into words that make sense is Jayanne's specialty. Jayanne will work with couples who wish to write their vows but are not sure how to put it all together, or she will help create a special poem to be read at your ceremony. Whatever your thoughts may be, Jayanne will put them in writing for you.

Jayanne Sindt began rhyming her way into solutions to problems as an adolescent and has worked through personal dramas using verse for others as well as for her self. She discovered that the verse could be used for any occasion, and gifted friends and family with many poems of celebration, condolence and affection. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Relations at the University of Connecticut and continues her education through personal discovery and spiritual endeavors. She attends workshops regularly and is a student of A Course In Miracles and The Artistʼs Way. She has been writing poetry for 25 years and enjoys getting together with creative friends and trying different crafts. She is now living her heartʼs desire through her business Personal Verse, providing an avenue of expression to others. It is a magical experience to provide Jayanne with just a few words of information and see it transformed into verse.

Look at this creation by Ambrosia Wedding Cakes www.ambrosiaweddingcakes.com. Heather went all out on this one. Remember the summer camp theme? Well here is their cake. A little slice of the great outdoors. This beautiful creation sat on top of our custom made tree trunk cake stand which we designed to sit in a fieled of grass with a bit of sparkle (easily obtained affect with votive candles). This is by far one of our most favorite wedding cakes...and it tasted great too!

Bright and Beautiful!

These bright creations provided the perfect look for this elegant summer camp wedding celebration at the Sundance Resort. The bride and groom wished to share their summer camp experiences with all of their guests (lots of them they met at camp). Each guest was assigned a "bunk" (dinner table) in the "mess hall" (Rehearsal Hall at Sundance). Each table displayed beautiful candlelight, bunk numbers, logs, bright flowers, and elegant linens. The flowers were provided by Val Rasmussen at StellaPosy www.stellaposy.com and the photography by Nick Sokoloff www.nicksokoloff.com. This beautiful wedding was definitely something to write home about!

Planners at Soiree like to suggest smaller cakes on an eye catching cake plate or pedestal and a sheet cake in the back. This speeds up cake service and your guests are sure to enjoy your cake and eat it too. Consider polka dots, colorful fondant, or creamy buttercream. Bringing the Outdoors In on a Wintery Day

Spring sprung at Sundance in March with Shannon and her beautiful personality. The room was lit with crystal candleabras and lots of red peonies that were amazing in size and color. Hollee Ward, owner of Emberlily Design http://www.emberlily.com/ of Salt Lake City found the perfect peonies straight from Holland. The room was glowing in black, silver, red and a touch of white. The room was filled with living trees we transfered in from our local nursery. What a way to bring the outdoors inside! Sundance is beautiful both in and out and when you share the space with a wonderful couple who promise to love, honor and cherish...well, what more can you ask for?

Patty and Matt-A San Francisco Treat!

Well the Bernier's are another happy couple. Their wonderful wedding celebration at Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley was a great way to kick off summer in Park City. With snow the weekend prior, we were not sure what June 28th would bring. Lucky for all of us, it couldn't have been a better day. The sun shined and the flowers...well take a look at the amazing creations by Orchid Dynasty http://www.orchiddynasty.com/. Shelley and her staff created beautiful centerpieces and the feel and look Patty was looking for. Together with Soiree, the tabletop was perfect. The room was filled with pink and chocolate flowers, ribbon, and lots of candlelight. The escort cards--created by our groom Matt, were perfect photos of San Francisco Street signs directing guests to their tables. These little touches made the evening personal and inviting. Patty and Matt celebrated their honeymoon in Thailand and are now back home. Thanks Patty and Matt for allowing us to assist you.

This wonderful celebration began with a Welcome Barbeque to welcome friends and family from France to California. The food and wine was a great way to kick off the festivities. The wedding was romantic and full of love and grace. Dinner and dancing--how much more fun can a group have...Everyone danced and enjoyed the celebration. The photobooth was a huge success and made their guestbook memorable.
