I’m doing a large clean up query on the RaidSpace database right now. RaidSpace might be unavailable while it’s in process. The good news is RaidSpace will respond much quicker once it’s done. I hope it doesn’t take more than an hour or so to run.

Login Issues

I have gotten several reports of people having strange log in problems. If you are having these troubles, try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, then restart the browser. This seems to get most people by the problem. I’m not sure what is causing the issue – hopefully I figure it out soon.

Sorry about the Internet Explorer bug I caused yesterday. The ads I added were pushing the raid screen to the bottom. Should be fine now… I will be more careful next time.

Reoccurring Raid Bug

Just a heads up, I got some information leading me to believe that people are disappearing from reoccurring raids when they sign up really early for them. I am trying to find the bug, and hope to have it fixed in the next release. Until then, please ask your players to re-check their signups as a raid date draws closer.

Europe Servers Added

Now folks on European WoW servers can begin organizing there raids with RaidSpace. All of the servers in the list are now either prefixed with a “US” or “EU”. Enjoy.

My Account, Multi Character and Forgot Password

When you are logged in now, you will have a button for it at the top. You can change your email address or password there. New Icons

How about those kicking icons at the top of RaidSpace? A new look and feel is in the works for RaidSpace, but those icons looked so cool I couldn’t wait to incorporate them with the current design. They were done by a good friend of mine, John Williams, who is a moon-lighting comic artist. Anyhow, I hope to have some new features, and some more updates to the design soon.

Minor Release, Persistent Logins and Logging

I made a minor release to get some quick wins.Firstly, I added persistent logins by request. After checking the “login automatically” button on the log in page, you won’t have to log in to the page every visit anymore. This will also help the raid leaders that kept a raid up all day and would have to re-login after refreshing because their session expired. Note: Clearing your browser’s cookies

Automatic Emails

I am thinking of putting automatic emails in the system to help raid leaders fill their raids better. This would do a few things.It would email a volunteer when their status in the raid has changed. For example, they were drafted into raid, or dismissed from it. It would send a reminder email to all the drafted volunteers 24 hours in advanced… well, I will likely make that 24 hours configurable.

0.7 Released, Reoccurring Raids Included

Woot! 0.7 is released, and among many bug fixed, there is one really great feature added: Reoccurring Raids. This feature will allow you to create one raid, and set it up as (for example) a weekly raid. No more creating the same Onxyia raid over and over. Invite Macros Added

When logged in as a raid owner or a raid leader, you will be able to access invite macros. They are located at the bottom of the Drafted table. By copying and pasting the text into temporary WoW macros, you will be able to quickly invite everyone that was drafted into the raid. Since WoW macros are limited to 255 characters, RaidSpace will automatically split the macro if needed. I hope to carry

Volunteer Note and Class Grouping

The Volunteer Note feature is added, which means a person can write a small note to the raid owner or leader when volunteering for a raid. Also, for ease on the eyes, both the volunteers and drafted are grouped by class. This should help while trying to determine where a raid is week class-wise.

Player Notes

Filling a suggestion, I am going to add a note field that a player can fill out when volunteering for a raid. So that the player could identify, for example, a late coming or early leaving. I will likely make it only visible to the raid admin and leaders. It should help them while deciding who to draft.

Firefox Strangeness

I got some known issues surrounding Firefox, post backs and redirects. I’m working to resolve these in a subsequent release. For now, use Internet Explorer, no matter how much it pains you to do so.

All WoW Servers Loaded

On the off chance that someone came across the tool and wanted to give it a try, I decided to go ahead and load all the servers. Now, anyone from any server can create a raid – but they do so at their own risk! (beta and all).

Raid Leader Option Complete

I am done implementing the optional raid leader feature. As the owner and admin of a raid, you can mark which drafted players you would like to act as raid leaders. This will give them the ability to draft and dismiss volunteers, but not edit parameters such as the raid name, time or rules. This should help spread out some of the raid responsibilities.

Reoccurring Raids

Reoccurring raids are planned. The basic idea is that you have one raid, a Saturday Night MC for example, that automatically resets itself each week, ready for volunteers again.
