It will debut on the Spring Equinox of 2007. Stay tuned -- there will be updates between now and then!Devon Ellingtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06921715681851447005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13916593.post-1130707125285542822005-10-30T16:16:00.000-05:002005-10-30T16:18:45.293-05:00Not Abandoned!Ths project may seem as though it has been abandoned, but I assure you, it is not.

It was pushed to the back burner for awhile, since several locations were in New Orleans, and then I had a family emergency, and then I worked on a television pilot.

I hope to do a proper big launch of this project in late January or early February -- stay tuned!

And many thanks for your patience.

In the meantime, check out The Thirteen Traveling Journals Project.

Also, please note that I am moving web hosts this month. The usual address for this project will not be valid during the move, so please email me here instead.

Many thanks.Devon Ellingtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06921715681851447005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13916593.post-1120914975797599092005-07-09T09:14:00.000-04:002005-07-09T09:17:25.163-04:00The Vision for the ProjectInstead of the journals traveling around the world, from hand to hand, as they do in The Thirteen Traveling Journals Project, the vision for this project is slightly different.

I will mail and/or leave the physical journals to specific locations – coffee bars, bookstores, historical sites, etc. – throughout the world. I will also provide postcards or bookmarks or some such small card-like item that interested people can take away with them when they visit the place.

The location will provide the home for the journal. People who visit the location can write in the journal if they wish, and take a card with this website and the addresses, so they can visit the site, send me an excerpt of an entry for posting, and keep track of what’s going on.

Websites for locations will be listed in the sidebar here. I also want to do short features on each site. I would love it if visitors submit anecdotes of their visit.

As a journal is filled, it will return to me. The site then has the option to receive another journal to keep on with the project, or to be done with it.

What I hope is that, eventually, as people plan trips, they will visit the site and see if any of the Place and Space locations are included in their itinerary. I would love it if some of the same people wrote in multiple journals in multiple locations.

If you are a site or know of a site you think would be good for this project, please contact me here.

D.
Devon Ellingtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06921715681851447005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13916593.post-1119618563349817932005-06-24T09:07:00.000-04:002005-06-24T09:10:19.830-04:00One Project at a TimeI will launch The Thirteen Traveling Journals Project first, over the next few weeks, and then devote more attention to this one.

Although tied in to the above, the premise is different -- instead of the journals traveling, the journals will remain at a fixed location, and travelers invited to participate.

Stay tuned!

Isn't the Summer Solstice Season wonderful?

DevonDevon Ellingtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06921715681851447005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13916593.post-1119591661918108782005-06-24T01:38:00.000-04:002005-06-24T01:41:01.920-04:00BeginningsThis is a project separate, but related to both my other Journal project, The Thirteen Traveling Journals Project, and the 1000 Journals Project started by someone completely different.

Stay tuned -- more information soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

DevonDevon Ellingtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06921715681851447005noreply@blogger.com
