It's almost a reflex to vote for the party you grew up with (in my case Democrat), but I learned the hard way just cause someone's affiliated with the party you associate yourself with, doesn't mean they're the right candidate or even a good candidate. I figured out it'd be like saying just 'cause someone loves chocolate as much as you do that they'd be your perfect representative. You need to find out just how serious they are about chocolate, and make sure they'd show integrity and have chocolate's best interest at heart.
