Karlheinz Schreiber, the german gun running weapons dealer friend of Brian Mulroney and the CPC heads back into court today to attempt to stave off his deportation order that would see him sent back into Germany to face charges of fraud, bribery, corruption and tax evasion which stem from dealings he had with the German Government at the time.

Schreiber was singularly responsible for the downfall of west german Chancellor, Helmut Kohl some years ago and has been fighting to stay out of Germany at all costs to avoid facing charges there and the associated huge sentence that will go with those charges should he be found guilty of those crimes he is facing.

Schreiber who has been fighting the deportation order for nearly 10 years now is represented by Edward Greenspan, a prominent Canadian Criminal Lawyer.

CHINESE POLICE AND TROOPS CONTINUE ARRESTING MUSLIM PROTESTERS

The Chinese government today continues its' crackdown on civil unrest and Muslim protesters in the northern city of Uighurs after arresting numerous demostrators and persons suspected of being involved in the civil disprutions that have plagued this northern most region of China for the past several weeks.

Hundreds of police were sent to the north of China as well as more than 45,000 troops to quell the unrest. The Chinese government has taken over control of the city of Uighur after local authorities were unable to stop the violence that threatened to explode across the muslim population of Northern China.

It’s a well-known truism that nature will exploit every ecological niche, however small and unlikely. Life is to be found in the deepest darkest trenches of the oceans, the coldest Arctic wastes, the smallest crevices in rocks deep underground. Even in the most abundant and densely-populated environments, if there is a potential food source or habitat unclaimed then some species will arise or adapt to make the fullest possible use of it.
In respect of physical phenomena, likewise, nature is infinitely resourceful. Temperature, sound, colour variation, electrical, magnetic and atmospheric effects are all used in different ways by various species for self-defence, for seeking out prey, for attracting a mate, for migration, for spreading seeds. If there is a physical effect that could in any way be useful to a living organism, no matter how obscure that use may seem, then the twin processes of random mutation and natural selection will bring that effect into play somewhere.
More to the point, in respect of conditions that have pertained on this planet for billions of years, nature will already have done so long ago. The phenomenon of quantum tunnelling was discovered in the middle of the last century and has since been widely used in microelectronics, notably in detection of magnetic fields in the order of millionths of a millionth of a microtesla. Yet less than four years ago it was discovered that some enzymes use quantum tunnelling at a high level of sophistication and have presumably been doing so for millions, possibly billions, of years.
One of the most widely-used naturally occurring phenomena is of course electromagnetic radiation, in the form of visible light. This is used in at least three ways by living organisms:
1. Nearly every animal species (including birds, insects, fish etc) has some form of visual receptors – eyes – through which it acquires significant information on its environment;
2. Plants are able to assimilate energy directly from sunlight by the process of photosynthesis;
3. Ten years ago it was discovered that mammalian eyes include photoreceptors that regulate the organism’s circadian rhythms (‘body clock’) – totally distinct from visual receptors.
It’s significant to note that some creatures are able not only to sense electromagnetic radiation in the visible frequency range but also to generate and emit such radiation to deter predators, to lure prey, to attract a mate. Fireflies, glow-worms and quite a number of species of fish have this capability.
So what of radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation?
In the billions of years over which life has evolved on this planet the level of naturally-occurring radiation in the biosphere within the radiofrequency/microwave range has been so low as to be virtually zero in comparison with radiation in the visible spectrum. It’s precisely for this reason that these frequencies are used for telecommunications (including radio and tv) – man has exploited what appears to be a vacancy in the environmental framework, no serious ‘interference’ to worry about.
So has nature missed a trick here and failed to take advantage of a massive gap in the environmental market, by just not making any use of potentially beneficial electromagnetic spectrum availability?
Well, we know that cells are innately responsive to electromagnetic radiation, otherwise eyes could not have evolved in response to that environmental stimulus. To suggest that they’re only responsive to visible radiation misses a fundamental point – evolutionary adaptation occurs as a response to specific environmental conditions, the general capability for that response must be there first. Remember, too, the snake’s ability to detect infrared radiation with an organ that is quite separate from its eyes.
We also know that living organisms are capable of generating electromagnetic radiation: the firefly, glow-worm, bioluminescent fish tell us that. That capability would have started as a random ‘spark’ (as a result of a random mutation) and then been enhanced by its beneficial consequences in respect of particular frequencies. It’s most unrealistic to assume that such random sparks would only have been emitted in the visible frequency range, that presumes a very specific intention in the evolutionary process rather than natural selection of randomly-generated survival traits.
Given the capability to both emit and sense electromagnetic radiation, it’s far more likely than not that this capability would have evolved, at a very early stage in the evolutionary process, into some form of signalling mechanism – quite possibly internal to individual organisms, since range may be a significant consideration.. If that is the case, artificial radiation with characteristics that in any way mimic such a signalling mechanism could prove seriously detrimental to those organisms.

The generally accepted mechanism by which cell receptors are considered to identify molecules and so respond to them, positively or negatively, is the so-called ‘keyhole-and key’ mechanism. This operates on the premise that a cell receptor is shaped so as to accommodate a molecule suitable for acceptance by that receptor but not one that does not qualify for acceptance. Whilst on the surface this appears to be a reasonable proposition, careful consideration of the logistics involved raises a number of questions.
Fitting a key into a keyhole requires that it is presented in exactly the right orientation: attempts to insert the key upside-down, backwards or even sideways are doomed to failure even if the key is a perfect fit when inserted correctly – and most keys have a very limited number of possible orientations. If a complex molecule is to fit correctly into its appropriate receptor it will presumably only do so if it presents at the correct orientation.
The question then arises: how does this happen? Does the cell receptor have the capability to juggle a molecule around and attempt to fit it in all sorts of ways? Does the molecule automatically present itself in a succession of ways until every possible fitting has been tried? How long would this ‘trial and error’ process go on? What of the molecule structure at the open end of the ‘keyhole’?
Jacques Benveniste, at the time the highly respected head of the Immunology and Allergy department at INSERM (the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research) was pilloried by the scientific establishment for claiming scientific evidence that cell receptor sites work rather by recognition of the electromagnetic signatures of molecules that they are programmed to accept. Some of his research in this field was originally published by ‘Nature’, after satisfying a requirement for a number of independent replications, but this provoked a strong attack by so-called ‘quackbusters’ who later claimed to have discredited his findings. Those findings rested strongly on the concept of ‘water memory’, which is related to principles of homoeopathy (and so strongly out of favour with the pharmaceutical industry).
Since that time Benveniste’s findings on ‘water memory’ have been replicated under stringent double-blind conditions in a number of independent laboratories, notably at Queens’s University, Belfast, by a team whose leader was initially extremely sceptical, even to the extent of insisting on repeating the experiment under conditions that allowed no possible trace of human error to influence the outcome. Although there have been significantly more successful than unsuccessful replications according to published results, the concept of water memory is still widely reported as discredited pseudo-science.
Clearly electromagnetic recognition of molecules, both by cell receptors and by antibodies, offers a more plausible and efficient mechanism than the keyhole hypothesis (for which no evidence has been seen). If that is in fact the mechanism used by living cells and immune systems then that would predicate a wide range of cell malfunctions and auto-immune disorders as a consequence of exposure to radiation with characteristics similar to that signalling system – disorders consistent with those attributed by some to mobile telecommunications emissions.
The mobile telecommunications industry and the pharmaceutical industry both feature among the five largest commercial interests on the planet. Both stand to suffer significantly in business terms if such a mechanism is shown to apply.
There are indications that ‘quackbuster’ groups and websites are in many cases set up and well funded by commercial interests. There is a definite possibility that in this crucial area the best interests of open, objective science are not being served – and so neither are the best interests of the public, nor of any other living organism.
It is very dangerous to assume that nature has missed an opportunity – it never does.

PM REMOVES RESPONSIBILITIES FROM MINISTER THAT SUPPORTED GAY PRIDE DAY IN TORONTO

Small Business and Tourism Minister Diane Ablonczy was stripped of all responsibilities related to the operation of the Marquee Tourism Events Program after it was revealed that her office issued a cheque to the Gay Pride festival in Toronto in the amount of $397,500.00 which pissed off tons of her federal CONservatives counterparts in Ottawa.

Saskatoon Conservative MP Brad Trost told a right wing christian based website called "Campaign Life" that the minister was berated and demoted after her role was discovered in handing out taxpayer money to an event that celebrates homosexuality.

Trost suggested that the minister had been punished by having responsibility for the $190-million fund removed from her control for embarrassing the party over the matter.

Trosts' riding also received thousands of dollars for the same typed festival that was held in his riding this weekend, but Trost failed to mention that to the press for fear that he would likely embarass himself as well in front of his colleagues. trosts says the matter is about Ablonczy, not him.(he should have ended that comment with the line...shut up stupid faces.)

Trost refuses to speak to any real media members regarding the matter and has sent out emails stating the Campaign Life website speaks correctly for him.

HOW MANY PEOPLE FEEL LIKE OUTSIDERS IN THE COMMUNITIES THEY LIVE IN?

I watch tons of people wander the streets of Woodstock and I often wonder what it is that they all do or where it is that they are going and today I wonder, how many people are feeling as though they are not welcome in their communities or feel they just aren't a part of their communities?

I spoke to one person yesterday who told me that he felt as though he wasn't ALLOWED to go to a local council meeting, and the one time he went he said he was made to feel so uncomfortable...he left.

So with that on my mind, I am wondering, how many others in this community feel as though they are out there on the fringe somewhere and what can we do to make people feel as though they belong here?

A 54 year old man was killed yesterday while driving the 401 from Toronto to his home in Simcoe Ontario after a piece of metal flew through his windshield, killing him instantly.

The OPP say they are contacting scrap dealers in the area to see if any of their vehicles were on the road at the time.

Remember, if you are hauling garbage to the dump or anything in a pick up truck or in a trailer, the law says you must cover the load, and it must be secured to the vehicle.

TORONTO STAR BEGINS PROCESS OF DIVERTING JOBS TO BUFFALO, NEW YORK

According to the Communications,Energy And Paperworkers Union of Canada, The Toronto Star has contracted out its' advertising department requirements to an AMERICAN FIRM that will now perform the duties of selling classified ads to Canadians instead of CANADIAN workers doing that job. Many longstanding employees will lose their positions and will be left in the cold as a result of the Toronto Star decision to axe their positions in favour of American workers.
A firm in Buffalo, New York was hired to replace more than 25 unionized workers in a bid to apparently save 1.5 million dollars annually. The union representing the workers disputes this claim stating that the employees collectively at best earn only 1.3 million per year.
The Star recently shed more than 35 full time long time advertising positions in an effort to shore up sagging advertising revenues.
Similar situations are spreading across the entire media industry as the global recession continues its melting down of all global economic activities.

The federal CONservative government is off on its' annual summer barbecue tour handing out monstrous cheques to anyone who will promise to vote CONservative in the next election. with that comes news that as the spending increases, so does Stephen Harpers' standing in the polls! CONServative pundits believe that if Mr Harper could only spend another $100 billion or so he may win his first majority government.

While many Canadians are using food banks to survive the Conservative MP's of Stephen Harpers' government are fanning out across the country eating barbequed beef, pork and chicken and carrying fat cheques emblazoned with CPC slogans that they can hand out at any opportunity if a vote is thought to be had.

Canadians lined up at one of Canadas' many food banks may see the giant cheques roll by on tractor trailers while waiting for their daily bread and water.

Conservatives are spending tax resources on art galleries for the rich while poor unemployed people stand by staring at the processions of tuxedo clad hobknobbers on their way to another CONservative gala event, or barbeque.

CHINESE CITIZENS TAKE UP ARMS AGAINST MUSLIM UNREST

Chinese Muslims continue to cause widespread unrest throughout northern China after clashes erupted between traditional Han Chinese and Muslim Chinese prior to this past weekend.

Han Chinese are reporting that hundreds of their fellow compatriots were beaten and attacked last week after Muslims began rioting in Chinas' northern regions leaving nearly 200 Han chinese dead in the aftermath. As a result thousands of Han Chinese have taken to the streets with machetes, wood clubs and knives to exact revenge upon the Muslim population.

The western city of Urumqi is known as a Muslim majority region in northern China.

OTTAWA MAYORS' TRIAL CONCLUDES TODAY

Ottawa Mayor Larry O'Briens criminal trial for influence peddling will conclude today after final arguments are made to the judge.

According to the crown prosecutor in the case Scott Hutchison, Larry O'Briens' version of events just cannot possibly be believed when one considers all the facts in the case.

"Mr. O'Brien's version he gave to police simply doesn't make sense when you test its points of departure against the objective proof you have before you", hutchison told the judge who is hearing the case.

O'Brien stated to police during their investigation that he did offer a National Parole Board position to his mayoral rival if his rival, Terry Kilrea agreed to step aside during the 2006 mayoral race. He also stated to the police that he dropped the matter after discovering "it may be illegal".

Personally, I wonder why Mr O'Brien would have thought he had the clout and connections within the federal CONservative party to even offer the position in the first place?

Parliamentary Secretary says "Harper Underestimated The Seriousness Of Recession"

HARPER ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL...PARLIAMENTARY WATCHDOG

According to Kevin Page (the parliamentary watchdog), Prime Minister Harper "got it all wrong" when estimating the impact of the recession on Canada.

Page says that the Prime Minister failed to see the depth of the impact of the global recession on Canada when he and finance minister Flaherty released their January economic progress report and that Harpers' guarantee that Canada would stoip running deficits in 5 years "was completely unbelievable".

In his report that will be released later on this week, Page states that Canada wshould be prepared to lose more than 1.2 million jobs this year alone, more than double the predictions of the PM and Finance Minister.

For 2010 the Stephen Harpers' conservative government has predicted a loss of perhaps 200,000 jobs at the most, while real economists predict that number to be in the realm of 700,000 jobs at the minimum.

The finance ministers' parliamentary secretary acknowledges that the finance ministers' predictions are wrong and that the government now acknowledges that things could get much worse for Canadians.
