Howard, Lydia Lunch, Nurse With Wound, Total, Test Department, Dau Al Set, Total Damage, Derek Jarman, Current 93, Pure and Coil. Includes a complete scan of the booklet.

The post from Saturday received a comment that it has been posted before, and also the one from Friday and wether I was running out of material to post and if I was going to rip his entire blog. I recently left a similar comment somewhere asking wether this guy was intended on ripping my blog, which caused a lot of offensive mail. I am not really interested in that. Let me explain once again, never tired of that (I did in my comment on the sunday post, expected a 'sorry for being rude' comment, but that of course didn't happen, so its good to explain again): Everything you find on this blog is ripped by me, or by someone I know and trust to do a good job. I will never ever repost anything found on any peer 2 peer network or indeed from any other blog. Once I run out of stuff, I won't go into reposting stuff from another blog, but simply stop blogging. To merely assume that this blog is about me, is ignoring what I have been doing and have said about this in the past. Compare today's post against the one that can be found on Atlantis Audio Archive and note the difference. I am not saying one is better than the other, its my own rip. I don't have enough time to go out and look if something is out there somewhere already. Maybe I should change the title of this blog into 'usually forgotten music, that you can find on the internet, or not'. Maybe you think my blog is past its sell by date and its time to move on (or back). Either way here is, as said, something you may very well have found before, but here is my own, fresh rip of this French compilation, that is actually released in two versions: one in a plastic box for pills and a regular cassette box one. I have the first, Dr. Freakowitz the second. This is one I ripped (and not using the one found on Atlantis Audio Archive, of which I am aware of its existence). Great music here with Merzbow, The Legendary Pink Dots, Renaldo & The Loaf, Ptose, Die Form, Stabat Stable, Ericka Irganon, DDAA, Des Traces, Hypnobeat, Wolfgang Wiggers, Klang, Half Japanese, Pseudo Code, La Chorale, Un Department, Berlinerluft, Beats Per Minute, Geso and Etant Donnes.

Marc Barreca - The Sleeper Wakes (tape, Intrepid, 1986), Palace Of Lights (7", Palace Of Lights, 1981)

Relatively unknown composer of ambient music. He has one release on Palace Of Lights (in 1980) and this cassette on Intrepid in 1986. Palace Of Lights, the label, also released a 7", a sort of radio friendly promo perhaps, of works by Barreca, K. Leimer, Anode and Savant, a group of which Barreca was a member. Great ambient music, along the lines of the 70s Brian Eno records.

Much like yesterday, this is also a ninety minute compilation but this time entirely (at least that's what I think) Japanese bands. YLEM was pretty much an arty-farty label from Japan, releasing tapes and records, but I don't have any. Dr. Freakowitz lent me this. It has music by A.T. Rhythm, Shinoby, Amerikakorps, The Dildos, Bushman 19, Mongoose, Sntamina, Rna Organism, Perfect Mother, Salaniedman Club, Interon, Noiszunzuri, Min. Lethal Dose, Mad Tea Party, Personal Effects Only, Merzburo (maybe Merzbow in an early guise?), Mono Sexion, Base, Airyform, Hyperspace.

Today another compilation, from the USA. This is volume one of The Other. The cover says there is a booklet also, but I didn't get this from Dr. Freakowitz. The Ordinary - Conventional Sound (tape, 1981)

Although there is no label mentioned, it does look like an official release - of some kind. The title is what it is. The Ordinary are a pretty much conventional rock band, most of the times, but then also sometimes a bit weirder. Not the greatest of recording qualities either, and apparently, according to the cover, all improvised.

An Bene & Pierre Lambow - Sustained Space (tape, Trance Port Tapes trance 3, 1983)

Also on Trance Port Tapes is this one by An Bene and Pierre Lambow. About the label says discogs: "This is the original incarnation of the Trance Port label established in the early 80s by A Produce for a series of cassette-only releases to document what he termed "the growing trance music scene" in the Los Angeles area, although the tapes by Randall Kennedy and Timothy Leary are both primarily spoken word. All releases came packaged in a distinctive fold out cardboard sleeve, (created by Independent Projects), with individual edition numbers stamped on them, and inserts with release notes enclosed. Nine releases were produced between 1983 and 1984." No information on these artists though.

Bolsche Vita (tape, 235 Media 004, 1984)

It seems that Megaupload has built in some delay before you can actually download something, which is a bit of a bummer, but alright. So a bit more of Der Werkpilot on this compilation, which also has EP4, Ash Wednesday, Kowalski, Diese Herren, Beaty Contest, Der Plan, Front 242, Bullworker and Das Moderne Ich. Quit rhythmic stuff. I didn't scan the entire thing but there were also 8 b/w postcards with this and an extensive text in German. Released by 235 Media which at that time was a pretty big (and expensive as far as I can remember) mailorder company from Cologne and who released this on their 2.35 anniversary.

Der Werkpilot (tape, Werkpilot Industrial Release wp-ir 005, 1983)

I am not sure if this is a temporary problem, but the last 2 posts say 'temporarily not available' from Megaupload. I hope its indeed temporary, or perhaps I should be looking around for a new uploader (any good suggestions can be e-mailed to 433rpm@gmail.com, and Rapidshare won't be one, as I am not paying money to give you something for free; and they are limited these days too). So from Dr. Freakowitz directly I got this tape with Die Werkpiloten, Prinz Eisenhart Landunsgbrucken, Der Vorkriegsrauch and Rhabarberkompott. I wouldn't be too surprised if this was pretty much the same bunch of people behind the music. Nice electro music, with some great pop twist. Includes full scan of all the (Factory Records influenced) artwork.

Gertie - Overdoses Of Roses (tape, Stichting Stopcontact cc2, 198?)

Vocalist Gertie Raaijmakers teams up here with Jaques van Erven, Richard van Herwijnen and Hans de Wit. Van Erven and De Wit are also visual artists and still play music. I think Van Erven was also a member of Signals (who had a flexi with Vinyl) and later became Neon. Nice improvised stuff here.

Tara Cross (tape)

Although I will make this not into a habit, this was not officially released, but given to Dr. Freakowitz. To quote 'The Thing On Your Doorstep' blog about Tara Cross:

Tara Cross Born in 1957, her interest in music awakes at age 13, when she begins to play the guitar. Later on she experiments with an Electro-Harmonix mini synthesizer and a primitive drum box. She finishes her studies at the Hunter College of New York, where she majors in Music and Psychology, yet she decides not to pursue her musical studies in an academic institution, since her primary interest is centered in the performing arts, and she joins different groups in this period. To her, the world of academic music does not really matter. Despite the opposition of her family, she devotes her time to her musical career, focusing her efforts in a very unconventional, experimental kind of music. She herself produces, composes and performs her own works, acts as her own public relations, takes care of the administrative and secretarial work, etc. Besides, she has had different jobs -ranging from librarian to shop assistant and typist, among other things, even though her favourite job is related to cosmetology. As a musician, she considers herself as some sort of sound structurer who experiments with sound the same way as a painter would experiment with colors.

Andre de Koning - Nightmares (tape, A the King Tapes, 1982)

Ah, this is the second tape on this blog that actually didn't make it, not entirely. Just like Ovens Van Ondank towards the en of side B they tape got eaten by the machine. Apparently this is the tape that got synth meister Andre de Koning in contact with Trumpett Tapes, who released another tape on that label. Synthesizer music, with primitive samples and sometimes a bit poppy. Great one. Hate to see this damaged. Sorry Doctor.

5HT - Meetings With The Loft Spirit (tape, Verening Utchat, 1982)

This band came from Zwolle, according to the information on the cover, although nothing much else is known. All tracks were recorded live in the attack above the Paraplu Winkel (is Umbrella Shop) with three microphones. Rock like improvisation here, and I don't know anything else about the band.

VO is a duo of Ricardo Jacobsohn and Daniel Chatelain. The first one gets credits for composition and arrangements and plays the majority of the instruments. Its music for non existing films. They also had a track on the x-mas tape I posted two years ago. Nice laidback, sometimes jazzy music.

In my old tradition of doing a bigger release in the weekend, here is a double cassette compilation, and in great spirit of the 80s, its a thematic compilation. It has new rock n roll music, but of course its more noise and experimental music based. It has some great tracks though, inc one by Ende Shneabeat (instead of Ende Shneafliet). Other bands Josef K. A bit of an unusual compilation for Studio 12, Nexda's label. Whereas Nexda has this odd dub/electronic sound, and Die Kru Blod or the experimental of K&I, as posted a few days ago, this compilation goes out into the direction of electronic (pop-) music. Some interesting people too here: Pieter Mulder and Wim Dekker (both of Minny Pops), Two CC, Siebe (probably the same as Cybe, whom we posted before), K&I, Ron van Zanten, and Rubin & zip. Odd indexing as usual with these Studio 12 releases.

De Fabriek as a label released mainly stuff by De Fabriek, but here they did a tape from a band from Argentina. Uno X Uno consists of Ignatz (guitarra midi + sampler), Jorge Garcia (guitarra), Gustavo Gatti (percusion electronica deformada y voces ambientales) and Carlos Alonso (voz, bajo, guitarra y teclado). Quite interesting pop music
