Now I do the simple task of driving Danielle up to her job on Smythe and almost get side-swiped in a parking lot by a blue-haired old biddy not paying attention and then almost rear-end an asshat that pulls out of the Dollarama parking lot at the foot of Smythe and Dundonald. And this guy has a sticker on his oh-so-hip Sunfire proclaiming "Ask me if I care". You would care if I was driving a half-ton that couldn't stop in time an smashed your car! Fucker.

And yes, to the observant ones you now know that I am back in Fredericton. Have been here for about a week now. All moved in to a nice duplex on Beaverbrook a stone's throw away from Head Hall (I can see the A level parking lot from my driveway). The apartment is the rear half of a house that has a kitchen, living room and bathroom on the main floor with the bedroom, laundry room and a room at the base of the narrow stairs that I'm presently using as an office but can be a bedroom in a pinch (the previous tenants had their three kids in here). It is a very nice apartment for a very good price (especially this close to uni!). Has a few quirks, but they're manageable.

Also, my last post on this blog was 14 April. Since then, Google took over Blogger and changed a few things. I had no idea! But now I use the same account to log in to Blogger, Gmail and a Picasa account that I created but haven't started to play around with yet.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1176570692425569322007-04-14T14:11:00.000-03:002007-04-14T14:11:32.426-03:00And Its DoneOriginally posted 22/01/2007

The plan was to start moving out last Monday. But, seeing as how dad was out on the road we couldn't exactly move anything without a truck and/or trailer. So, we started packing things. Wednesday, we planned to go forth and gather the Blue Beast for the purpose of moving our stuff to the storage locker and the remainder of things back to the Homestead. Papa-san didn't license the Blue Beast Wednesday when he was in town but through some finagling it got licensed before the SNB office closed anyways. We took the trip yonder to gather the Blue Beast but alas, after leaving the Homestead a mere five minutes down the road the u-joint decided to break. Turn back, return the Blue Beast and drive back to the apartment.

Papa-san arrived in the morn with the Work Truck and the Trailer to move things to the locker and the large furniture bits to the Homestead. Thus passed Thursday.

Friday was uneventful. It snowed, it rained, we stayed put.

Saturday we gathered the now mended Blue Beast and headed thither to the apartment to finish with the moving of things. We finished the packing and stashed the last of the items in the locker, or so we thought. Passed the night away at the apartment, our last evening there.

At new light we packed away our belongings into the Blue Beast and were dismayed to discover that the Blue Beast was full and there was still a large pile of things to leave the apartment. In the process of packing the Blue Beast, I was very silly and missed a stair, resulting in a rather painful twisted ankle. We drove yonder to the Homestead, unpacked, and slept.

Monday, our very last deadline of a day to remove ourselves from the apartment we headed thither to the apartment once more with the Blue Beast to gather the very lastest of last of things destined for the Homestead. We discovered that there were a few measly things to go in the storage locker, and we placed them thus. Filled up the Blue Beast, performed the required walk-through, returned our keys and gave up all ownership of the apartment. And so we arrive at the present day.

In other news, I purchased a new pay-go SIM for my stay in Alberta. The last four digits of the number are 1701.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1176570428298677482007-04-14T14:05:00.000-03:002007-04-14T14:07:08.303-03:00I'm attracted to...Originally posted 8/10/2005...

HULLZ YEAH.

Curvy and Cute
Raw score: 66% Big Breasts, 59% Big Ass, and 72% Cute!

Thanks for taking the T and A and C test! However, due to this, I have just discovered posts from 2 years ago that seem to be flooded with spam comments. One in particular has 83 comments! Rather than trying to delete them all I just deleted the whole post. I'm going to go through the archive and see what else is all fucked up.

But, to preserve posterity, I'm going to repost what I delete.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1176401685615365792007-04-12T15:12:00.000-03:002007-04-13T14:19:16.836-03:00Fucking spambotsGoddamned spam bots. I'm a fairly successful eBayer, having made around 50 transactions or so in the time I've been active.

One thing that always pisses me off to no end are snipers. Snipers are people who watch an auction that they want and when it comes down to the last minute, they bid like crazy to try and win the item. This causes me no end of frustration when I can't be around for the end of an auction and lose to a sniper. Once, I was refreshing the auction page on an item I was winning and in the last 5 seconds I was outbid. eBay actually encourages this action! There are special programs that you can download that will bid like 20 times a second so that you have no chance at winning. The designers of those programs should be sent to The Special Hell. I've had some discussions with Jonah about this, and he is of the school of thought that when it comes to eBay, you should put in the absolute maximum you're willing to pay for an item and, if you get outbid, don't sweat it as its more than you wanted to pay in the first place.

I finally followed his advice. There was an auction for an early '70s Chevy 4x4 pickup and a rare late '70s Dodge styleside pickup (the Dodge, in mint, unbuilt condition, goes for $60-80 alone). I put in my maximum bid for $45, the highest I was willing to pay for the auction. I've tried, unsuccessfully, four previous times to get one of these rare trucks. $45 was pretty much the maximum, but if I was outbid in the last few minutes I might have been persuaded to go to $47. Anyways, I was winning the auction at $13 and some change for the past few days. Within the last minute, as I continually refreshed the page, the price went to $21.50, then $22.50. Then within the last five seconds, the price went to $43.50. The auction ended before the bidder could go any higher. I checked the bid history of my newly won auction and discovered that the last bidder, the one that brought the price to $43.50, was a different bidder than the $21.50 and $22.50 bidder, and was in fact the bidder I outbid to win the auction in the first place! I successfully thwarted a sniper!!!

*happy dance*

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1171124343270084222007-02-10T12:15:00.000-04:002007-02-10T12:19:03.293-04:00Not in Kansas anymore...Never actually been to Kansas, but ya'll know what I mean. The flight out was uneventful. Got to Edmonton it was dark, and late. Everything was closed so we couldn't go explore too much. I was very excited to see that there actually is a Liquor Barn in Edmonton. I simply must visit.

Whitecourt is.... a lot different than what I'm used to. First, there's a shitload of snow. Like, 4' of snow. All the roads, driveways, parking lots are snow-covered. Only the highways are bereft of snow, and even then is just a track where the wheels go. The best way I can describe the town itself is that its spacious. Everything is spread out in a large area. The content of the town is similar to smaller towns in NB like Oromocto or Sussex, only in an area the size of Fredericton if not bigger. Actually, now that I think about it, Whitecourt is a lot like Bathurst.

I think I might like it here.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1170954494921290032007-02-08T13:02:00.000-04:002007-02-08T13:08:14.936-04:00Plans for today2:30 AST - Leave house
4:45 AST - Take off from Saint John Airport
5:43 EST - Arrive at Montreal Airport
6:30 EST- Take off from Montreal Airport
7:13 EST - Arrive at Ottawa Airport
7:55 EST - Take off from Ottawa Airport
10:22 MST - Arrive at Edmonton Airport
12:22 MST - Arrive in Whitecourt, AB

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1170390784021101562007-02-02T00:31:00.000-04:002007-02-02T00:33:04.036-04:00So pretty....A fresh snowfall. Since we've moved in, we have paid only a few of the many month's rent we had to pay. Danielle has been sick due to various things, out on stress leave, etc. Thursday, Danielle was fired from her job due to absenteeism, even though she has a doctor's note for each absence. Today, due to back rent owed, we were evicted with 10 days to vacate the premises. My dad is out on a run for work and his second truck isn't licensed, so we have to wait until Monday to start moving out. Because I have no where to live and can't go to uni, commute, and work all at the same time, I am taking a leave of absence from uni for a semester. Danielle & I are going to Alberta to stay with her parents from February til September at which time we're coming back to NB so I can finish my education. It should be an interesting few months...

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1167840810198442112007-01-03T12:08:00.000-04:002007-01-03T12:14:06.643-04:00EdumacationSo far I've gotten 3 of my marks back. Which is annoying, as exams have been over for two weeks and I still don't have one back. I got a C in both hydrogeology and imaging & mapping, woohoo! Unfortunately, I got a D in fluid mechanics. Again. I retook it this year because I got a D last time. Grr. But, see, I got a C in hydrogeology, and fluid mechanics is a prerequisite for that. Go figure. And now my WebCT access for hydraulics has been denied for whatever reason, but I have yet to hear anything from the prof telling me to withdraw from the course like I did last year. I might try and appeal the mark and make my case that if I don't get credit for this course, its going to add a semester to my degree. Fucking course conflicts...

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1167840461972622012007-01-03T12:04:00.000-04:002007-01-03T12:07:41.990-04:00Hello, and welcome to 2007So, 2006 is gone. Out the door. A new year is upon us. This New Year's celebration was infinately better for me than last New Year's (I closed by myself at Subway). We had a grand ol' time having a murder mystery at my humble abode. In attendance was Jason, Erin, Nathan, Jack, Emma and Danielle & myself, naturally. I ended up being the killer, sort of. We had much food of Chinese and Canadian (and German!) variety and it was all very tasty. Upon conclusion of the murder mystery we relocated across a parking lot to Jack & Emma's abode where we sat around playing various incarnations of poker until the wee hours. Sadly, I was not as drunk as I would have preferred as I did not have adequate drinky. But, there's always another time!

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1166757524128788552006-12-21T23:17:00.000-04:002006-12-21T23:18:44.170-04:00What Pseudo Historical Figure Best Suits You?

You scored as Friedrich Nietzsche. We were in St. George when I heard on the radio that Highway 7 was closed off in both directions due to an accident. They didn't say where it was blocked, or anything more about the accident. We still had yet to go to Saint John and then to my parents' place and then home and those who know me well know that I had to travel on Highway 7 from end to end. I bypassed the highway by going through Martinon and Grand Bay and then got back on it in Welsford, past the scene of the accident, I found out later. This was at around 9pm anyways so the accident was cleared up by then. This morning the Daily Gleaner had an article about the accident.

Someone won't be making it home for Christmas this year. Please be safe and have a Merry Christmas.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1166395885441853832006-12-17T18:45:00.000-04:002006-12-17T18:51:25.456-04:00SidewaysMy job presently is at the Fredericton Co-op in the Home & Leisure department. Nestled in the back of the store, the H&L department is pretty much the biggest sub-section of the store. We cover housewares, cooking implements, toys, and everything from lawn mowers to snow blowers to treadmills. We have all the Christmas lights and artificial trees, all the bird seed and assorted stuff, and the Garden Center falls under our jurisdiction. Also intermingled with H&L is Electronics and Furniture/Appliances. The new 14000 sqft warehouse built on Co-op property is half ours, half grocery. To date I've been doing the regular H&L stuff and also working out in the warehouses as required. I've helped out some people in electronics as well as I tend to be knowledgeable in those things. So, I was amused to find out today that a couple of the guys in Electronics want me in that department. They're going to approach our manager to see about getting me transferred there as they need a part-time person and I know a lot about the stuff in there. Should be interesting.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1165527243213504202006-12-07T17:30:00.000-04:002006-12-07T17:34:10.126-04:00An update of current goings-onTo make a long story short, we almost got kicked out of the apartment today. Merry fucking Christmas, indeed. Through some finagling, I managed to get it sort out and things paid. Those who have me on IM contacts and inquire further...

President Tire had a huge blowout on inventory yesterday. They got into a tiff with a supplier and now are not going to be stocking certain tires so they were selling tires off for cheap cheap cheap. So cheap I got a set of winter tires for $27.70/tire. These ones, to be precise. Thank you Nathan for the assistance!

Seventeen days until Christmas. That is all.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1163711029841553312006-11-16T16:57:00.000-04:002006-11-16T17:03:49.906-04:00[expletive deleted]AAAARRRRGGG!!!!!

Some people should NOT be driving.

Heading down Prospect this morning to turn down Regent and go to uni, there was this silver Grand Caravan in front of me that doesn't quite seem to know where the fuck they're going. They wander over into the left turn lane to go McDonald's (with no signal light), then snap on the signal light for a right hand turn and wander back into my lane, going a little slow as if to go all the way right and turn going to the Regent Mall. So, they're taking their sweet old time and I get into the left turning lane to go down Regent and right as I'm beside them (the right-hand turn signal was on up until this time, keep in mind) they decide to get into the left-hand turning lane, snap on the signal light, and start entering the lane right when I'm beside them!!! I almost got the front of the car ripped off! Needless to say the horn got a workout. I followed them all the way to the hospital driveway before giving up and deciding that it wasn't worth my time and effort to give them a verbal bitching.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1163440065997651792006-11-13T13:36:00.000-04:002006-11-13T13:52:15.906-04:00Pet Peeve, Take Eleventy OneOne of my extremely biggest pet peeves is people that like to drive to the front of a really long line of cars and then want to get into the lane. Fuckers! there's a lineup for a reason! Wait like the rest of us! If you try to nudge your nose in in front of me, I WILL smash it off. I have no patience or sympathy or what-have-you for people that do this. The spot that pisses me off the most is at the intersection of Regent and Prospect: when leaving Prospect to continue on the Vanier Highway, there are two lanes of traffic. The left-hand lane is the lane that continues to the highway, the right hand lane is for turning off to get on the #2 and continue to Edmundston. It is signed as such. Yet every fucking time I'm sitting at this intersection in the left-hand lane to go to work or go to visit family in Saint John, there's a line of fuckers in the right-hand lane that will do their best to speed ahead and get in front of the long line. So when I was at the front of the line this morning in the left-hand lane you can be damned sure that when a fucknut in a silver Jeep Liberty comes barrelling down the right-hand lane wanting to get in front of me, I slammed the accelerator to the floor and made sure he didn't get by me. Most of the people that do this stunt end up taking the Kimble Road exit (which this fucknut did), causing a hassle for those of us continuing on.

The second worst spot for this has now been eliminated, but it was on the Vanier Highway as well just before the Doak Road exit. The designers of the new #2/#7 highway designed a four lane divided highway to flow through the Vanier Industrial Park and end at Regent Street. There was an intersection with lights at Doak Road that cut across the old highway. When the new highway was built, this intersection was eliminated and the plan was to require access to Doak Road from Alison Blvd. But enough people put up a fuss that there was going to be no highway access to get to the Doak Road (and therefore the Co-Op) so they had to implement a last-minute design change that reduced the southbound section of #2/#7 to one lane with the other lane being an exit to Doak Road. Fucknuts would always stay in the right-hand lane until it ended just before the Doak Road exit and then weasel their way into the flow of traffic in the left-hand lane. Another spot where I would refuse to let cars in front of me if I could avoid it. There were signs posted plenty in advance to inform drivers that the lane was ending - there's no need to continue on past where the white dividing line ends and cut into traffic. Thankfully a new ramp was built to get on the Doak Road and southbound traffic now has two lanes all the way through.

Now if they'd only join up the Hodgson Road with the Doak Road life would be so much easier...

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1162824409809360262006-11-06T10:44:00.000-04:002006-11-06T10:46:49.826-04:00Winter wonderlandFirst snowfall of the season here in Freddyland. There's about 3cm on the ground and its still falling. Little eensy-weensy snowflakes, so as the old adage goes 'little snow big snow'... Might end up getting a fair bit of snow dumped on us. Which kinda sucks cause Danielle's car is horrible in the snow. Probably a combination of a light car and shitty tires...

I want my car back for the snow! :'(

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1162068177876337422006-10-28T17:41:00.000-03:002006-10-28T17:42:57.896-03:00Boots........decided she would sit on the kitchen counter. Well, not the longest gap that's ever appeared but certainly a bit of one compared to my posting habits of old.

Danielle went and has since come back fom Alberta. Had a good time out there. Can't wait to go again and take me too. Thanksgiving was a good time filled with a grand adventure in the wilds of rural New Brunswick with dad. Working at the Co-op is going great. Lots of awesome people to work with and the job is pretty sweet. It is Co-op Week this week so lots of store-wide sales and lots of members shopping. I'm told Co-op Week is when our regular weekly sales increase seven-fold. And then there's Member's Week where its even crazier...

Today it is raining. Can't complain too much, I suppose. Its better than the alternative for this time of year. Last night I did some exploring of Head Hall and found a way to get on the roof; completely unlocked and everything! I may just have to go out there someday.

And finally, a bit of a crash course on Ranger rarity. For the first run of body style there were a few Rangers that were limited-run. They are listed in order of rarity below:

#1 - Shadow Edition Ranger (stepside box, only 15 made)
#2 - Saleen Ranger (24 in 1988, 1 in 1991; all others race trucks)
#3 - Bigfoot Edition Ranger (factory bling with a power rear sliding window [like the Tundra])
#4 - Diesel Ranger (2.2L and 2.3L turbodiesel)
#5 - Ranger GT (made up til 1989 or so)

So you can understand that I would get excited when I see
this.

christopherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09004901894965660259noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13571160.post-1159923173239017992006-10-03T21:51:00.000-03:002006-10-03T21:52:53.253-03:00Jobby jobToday I started my new job at the Co-op.
