I tried to modify some of the suggestions for SBS 2003 and haven't had luck. But to complicate things I have a dual WAN router: a local ISP and ATT DSL. Occassionaly mail was getting stuck in the smtp queue (I think it happens when the route choosen by the router is ATT - it is my local ISP that provides the static IP). So, with only one smarthost entered my guess is that ATT won't let me send mail to a third party smarthost. Bottom line is there a way (if necesary) to have two smarthost entered? My local is anonymous whereas it sounds like the ATT wants me to use basic authentication. I've verified our email account, but i was still getting that error so i moved back to smtpauth.sbcglobal.net. Hopefully I won't get the NDRs anytime soon. :)Stephennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327431886118922768.post-43202021126159950142008-11-17T19:08:00.000-08:002008-11-17T19:08:00.000-08:00Steven, keep an eye out for NDRs. It all happened on one day.

You don't need to use 587 if port 25 works fine for you. Port 25 is used for server-to-server SMTP transport and port 587 is used for client-to-server.

You only need to use one email account to use for authentication, as long as it's valid.Jeffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05278298222887921824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327431886118922768.post-66881042859892854922008-11-17T09:07:00.000-08:002008-11-17T09:07:00.000-08:00Thanks for this post! So far, e-mail is being delivered without any trouble. I do have 2 questions about your settings. 1)We don't use an edge server, so when i try to change the port to 587, EMS doesn't recognize the Get-SendConnectors command. 2)Would i have to verify each e-mail address with yahoo or just the one your a logging in with?Stephennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1327431886118922768.post-107943202388546232008-10-19T16:54:00.000-07:002008-10-19T16:54:00.000-07:00Thanks very much for this post!
